Opale
Aloha ! I'm creating a Marvel Rogue like character (yes another girl power stealer. I just love this concept ) and I haven't decided yet of the technical part of her Complications coming from a Mystic background. So yes I know normally you buildup a character by it's background, but this time I volontarily wish to build the Background FROM the Complications. It's a kind of mental exercize. Everyone knows Rogue, the character from Marvel, but if you had to create a character like this one, playable by a PC. Here are my starting Complications. Accidental Change: Touch Someone's Skin Always (Common) Physical Complication: Body sometimes changes when she drains (Infrequently; Slightly Impairing) Psychological Complication: Gets psychological quirks from those she drains (Common; Strong) Negative Reputation: Power Stealer, Frequently What would you add as Complications turning around the nature of her powers ? Complication idea's Stealing Opale
Cygnia
Re: Rogue Syndrome Well, question...since it's mystical, did she steal the ability to steal powers from someone else? Someone who could be a really nasty Hunted in terms of wanting that power back/revenge...
Opale
Re: Rogue Syndrome Yep, could be... As I said, nothing is set yet, I'm volontarily going to do the background the reverse way ^^

Opale
Re: Rogue Syndrome Thank you Egyptoid and Cassandra, but I'm not asking for a VPP build, I have it ^^. Egyptoid
Re: Rogue Syndrome Just I was asking about Complications. Opale The Scarlett build had some custom complications on it, if you read that far. Basically she had "psych disad with variable SFX" meaning that if she touched a greedy person, she got greedy, touched a fearful person, she ws easily scared, etc. In addition to soaking up powers. Also, a later version could soak up skills. She had 2 skill slots with variable sfx; basically a Super-Cramming, so that if she touched an electrician, she could do the wiring, that is until she touched someone different. Also her "bad dreams" complication meant there were plenty of misplaced, bad, or useless memories floating around in her head. Also does the loneliness bother her. your list doesnt mention "cannot do normal human activities such as hold hands, kiss, etc." Also can absorbed memories assert themselves, does she have Ego problems? have you seen this? esampson
Re: Rogue Syndrome How about adding into the VPP so that she steals knowledge at the same time she steals powers. Then give her a transform attack that applies to books, computers, CDs, etc. that she touches that wipes out all their data.
Sketchpad
Re: Rogue Syndrome Complication wise? How about: • Hunted: Hero that she stole powers from • Accidental Change: Other hero's personality takes the drivers seat • PsychLim: Not sure what memories are her's • Vul: Cold Iron (from Fey Blood?) • Susc: 2d6 Damage when near Hero she stole powers from • Hunted: Evil Sorcerers (aka Demon) • PsychLim: Afraid of Own Powers • PsychLim: Afraid to get close/touch someone else • Reputation: Power Stealer • Hunted: Anti-Magic Org • Dependence: Lifeforce Hope these help

Opale
Re: Rogue Syndrome And thanks esampson, Sketchpad, QM it's always an advantage to see how other people understand a power, a situation. Opale.
Egyptoid
Re: Rogue Syndrome a transform attack that applies to books' date=' computers, CDs, etc. that she touches that wipes out all their data.[/quote'] Rude. Is that from his game world or what?
esampson
Re: Rogue Syndrome Not sure what you mean by 'from his game world'. It's just an extension of the concept of transferring things from other people/objects. It's actually an idea I had for a character (probably not a PC) years and years ago. The character couldn't steal powers but they could steal knowledge. It was a combination of telepathy and a VPP for skills along with a couple of other powers. Since it was a magical ability I thought about having the character able to absorb information from books, computers, etc. Unfortunately the Transform rules at the time didn't work quite so well for the concept (and it didn't occur to me to make it a Killing Attack with a special effect that the 'destroyed' object was left blank).
