Anti-TK tactics

One of my players has 40 Strength TK and is very effective with it. In combat she will grab one of the villains and keep him/her/it from pretty much doing anything since to fight they need to break a 40 STR hold. To make things worse, she has an Ego Attack, but I can deal with that some with Mental Defense. What can I do to reduce her effectiveness?

Martial escape use to work against TK too. Desolid works and so does Teleporting.

Telekinesis is pretty much the same thing as a strong character, its just more indirect and ranged.  So you treat it the same as having a strong character grabbing and smooshing or otherwise molesting enemies, the only difference is the distance really.  TK is very powerful but most of its best uses are very subtle, not brute force.

Don't reduce her effectiveness, she paid 70+ points for the advantage of being able to do what she does.

If you need to challange her, use enemies that don't care if they are grabbed, or that can easily escape. Bricks, Mentalists and Martial Artists.

Any Brick worth their salt will have more STR than she has TK, making escape a matter of time. Mental Illusions can be used to make her accidently attack teammates much more easily than Mind Control, and in her case effectively knocks out both her and teammate automatically. Martial Escape and Contortionist give a huge bonuses to STR to escape. Also don't forget that Mental Powers (like EGO Blast), and lots of other powers (laser eye beams, frost breath, molten skin) can still be used on the character while the target is grabbed.
