  1. Re: Firewing vs yo Momma

    My mom would win.

Once upon a time, my parents owned the adjacent building on the street. The original owner was looking to sell and offered a very cheap price. My parents bought it and rented it out. The first tenants were college students. On a particularly late night, the college students were throwing a very loud party. My mom, all 5' of her, went out to inact a PRE Attack. In the process of heading over, she slipped and fell into a muddle puddle.

Imagine a five foot tall, red head, who HAPPENS to be your land lord, standing in front of a group of drunk college students who are twice her size. Now imagine that this person covered head to toe in mud screaming at you in the top of their lungs with absolutely no fear of the crowd before her.

Yeah... Firelord would get his butt handed to him.

  2. Re: Religion Hero??

The fundamental problem I see with Religious hero is that you really have to have an indepth knowledge of, at the very least, one religion to run. If your players don't have that level of depth or some sort of bias view on religion, it could cause the game to fizzle out quickly.

  3. Re: How many HAPs?

It really depends on how you plan on using them. Are you going with a group pool or individual HAPs?

I would start out with 3 HAP for an individual HAP system. If you are going with a group pool, I'd start with 2 HAP per player in the game. I'd adjust it based on your observations of the first couple of games.

  4. Re: A Question Of Marriage

My wife has already posted to this thread. Therefore, I have -4 penalty on my persuasion roll to convince you that my method of how to simulate marriage in Hero.

Actually, in all truthfulness it depends on a lot of factors. Really I view marriage (or at least my marriage) as a high point Contact. Sometimes I need to bring home gifts or ice cream to get certain favors but not always. I think my contact is where most of my points go on my character sheet.

  5. Re: Horror Hero: Cliches to Avoid

Cliches you never have to worry about as a GM -- at least not with any group of RPers I've ever gamed with...

Good Guy finally gets his hands on a decent weapon -- gun, knife, whatever -- but then leaves it behind for no good reason.

Good Guy(s) hits/shoots/stabs the Bad Guy once, Bad Guy goes down... and Good Guy(s) doesn't check if Bad Guy is actually dead or just stunned/faking.

Very good point... I also doubt quite seriously you can easily slip in an evil NPC into a PC party and not have at least one player suspect.
