  1. Re: [Campaign Log] Sophia's Barbarians I've fallen behind on chronology for the game. I should have that resolved soon. As a result, I don't have dates at this time. But I have the story. Day 1: Sophia performs a ritual for her favor. She is instructed as above that she must pick one of the two barbarians in her employment to become her master. She will be the slave of that barbarian while on the northern continent*. She picks Kessa Iceraven as the one she will use and informs Kessa of the favor. Sophia goes to book passage aboard a trading ship. While she is doing this, Kessa Iceraven trades in her clan's gold to buy a large supply of weapons and feed for the cart's horses. After preparing the weapons, Kessa tracks down Skarg to inform him she will be gone for a long time. Skarg asks if Kessa would be interested in some "fun" before they go. Kessa agrees to this and the two go off to have sex. Kessa returns later and her and Sophia leave for the foreign district. Kessa orders a lockable slave collar for Sophia. Sophia is measured and inspected like cattle by the slaver. He leaves, and returns with a slave collar 30 minutes later. The collar is placed on Sophia carelessly and locked. The key is given to Kessa who hangs it around her neck. Sophia is shocked to learn just how heavy the collar is. (GM note: I told Sophia that for the sake of simplicity, if she is carrying anything other than a weapon or clothing she is encumbered. Normally the collar alone would leave her encumbered at all times.) End of Day 1 I'll post the following day of game events when I have more time at work.
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I have paid for 81% of my car. In 260 days, I'll have a real cause to celebrate.
  3. Re: Musings on Random Musings It went well in my opinion but it will be several weeks before I know for sure if I passed or failed the assessment.
  4. Re: [Campaign Log] Sophia's Barbarians I'll get a summary out soon.
  5. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Off now to roleplay myself into a promotion...
  6. Re: [Campaign Log] Sophia's Barbarians First, the Favor: "You are to go to the Foreign District outside of Elweir with either Kessa or Carmen. You will go to the Slave Market where you will pay to have yourself marked as slave property of the barbarian. When questioned, you will state you are not a resident of Elweir. When you are on the continent of Pelosa, you are a slave even if your ownership is sold. While you may takes measure to remain their employer, you cannot object to any orders as a slave while on that continent. If you decide to have yourself marked as a slave by means of a slave collar, you must leave the key in Elweir when you leave. The favor ends when you have returned to Elweir after returning the dagger." Sophia choses Kessa as her owner.
  7. Re: Musings on Random Musings For my the interview I focused on the character Danis, I've been writing short stories for. I tried to keep myself calm and collected like Danis whenever he faces a threat. Now all I need to do is roleplay a successful manager.
  8. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I was just informed I passed the interview for the coach track position. Of the 15 people that applied, only 8 people have made it past the interview process. The next portion is the actual coach assesment. The task: a roleplay session.
  9. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Okay, update on the interview thing. It was quite an experience. I had to answer eight questions based on personal experience and they were not easy questions to answer. Each question is scored and I have to make a certain "score" to go through an assessment test. The assessment test is pass fail and a little birdy gave me some pre-assessment advice should I get there. I will find out tomorrow if I scored enough to be elegable for the assessment.
  10. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER For those curious, my interview was pushed back to 3:00 pm because my interviewer was 45 minutes late from lunch.
  11. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER About two years ago, people were using girls for their avatars and I went through a phase of rotating cosplayers. I also put one in for my profile. When people complained about doing that, I simply changed the avatar but never changed the profile. Every now and then, I see it and am reminded I did that. However, I have never though to change it. I'm amused at the bit of history there.
  12. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Time for an internal job interview. I've never had an hour long job interview before. Should be nerve wracking.
  13. Re: Full Metal Alchemist I'd rather not discuss it in any context on the forums because I don't want to say something that might spoil someone else. But if you want to know I can clarify some of my statement. I'll send you a PM answering your question though.
  14. Re: Full Metal Alchemist No, FMA in this case. I had seen a wallpaper on 4chan that didn't make sense. Afterwards I thought of something I had seen someone post about the series that at the time had made even less sense. At work, Courtney was watching an AMV and commented on it. I put it all together and realized the original post I mentioned had to have been true.
  15. Re: Vibora Bay vs. Hudson City No problem. If I run a game, I'm going to get posterboard and do a section of the city. It will be the player's "war room" for their own usage.
  16. Re: Full Metal Alchemist I've seen all but the last 7 episodes and have read up to volume 5 of the manga. Someone accidently spoiled the end of the anime series for me though.
  17. Re: Vibora Bay vs. Hudson City Supers aren't in this world. I didn't want to mention it only because I knew that I would get a lot of blanket "Hudson City is better" responses. I'm looking strictly for details of the city. In a Shadowrun Game once, we took a big piece of posterboard and made a map of an entire district of Seattle. We had a nice map going for us. It was lamanated and we used it for all kinds of things. What I'm more interested in, as far as comparison, is which provides more details along the line of "Joe's Gunshop is here" and "The grocerymart is there" than "Mr. Smith is the major of this city." 84% of the population is going to die. NPCs aren't important. City locations are.
  18. Re: [Campaign Log] Sophia's Barbarians If anyone on here wants to hear a couple of interesting game spoilers before the players hear them, let me know by PM.
  19. Lets hypothetically say I was going to start an apocolypse in the Champions Universe. It would be a Heroic level game that would be set in one of the two cities. What I would like to know is which of these two books provides the most details to the city itself. I know Hudson City has a very detailed map system to it. But I don't know if it is the contender for city content.
  20. Re: A Thread for Random Musings If anyone wants to get a glimpse into how video game laws get themselves passed, here is a web blog of someone stepping into the law making process. http://www.tombuscaglia.com/
  21. Re: Character: Conan the Cimmerian One note to point out. In the Xuthal of the Dusk, it is stated: You might want to give him a bonus to his PRE for the purposes of dealing with fear against "Those within his ken".
  22. Re: [Campaign Log] Sophia's Barbarians I'd post the favor here in advance but I want to see her reaction when it happens.
  23. Re: [Campaign Log] Sophia's Barbarians Sunday's game should be fun. I'll be doing the summary most likely. Sophia's going to HATE her favor. But it will prove to be great roleplaying.
  24. Re: Full Metal Alchemist Damn, you really went to town on there!
