  1. Re: Resurrection Healing Limitation To clarify, this is for a fantasy genre. Basically, raising the dead is a rare occurance but does happen. The idea behind it is that when someone comes back from the dead, they essentually gain Physical Limitation: Has Been Raised from the Dead (0 pts). The advantage is that they are no longer considered Human Class Mind. The drawback is that nothing can save them if they die again. I just am not sure for spell building, whether or not the "can only be raised once" counts towards the requirements of the Ressurection Adder.
  2. Ressurection is stated to have a reasonably common way to prevent a person from being raised from the dead. However, in the campaign in question, a person can only be raised from the dead once. Would this, alone, be an acceptable common way to prevent the ressurection or should I have an alternative method to be rules correct?
  3. Re: [Campaign Log] Via Brief description of party members based on player provided description: Lina – A short and young person in her early twenties. She is very beautiful but she carries a frequent scowl. She wears male clothing. Gerard – An older, greying beard and mustache. He wears chainmail armor and there are markings on his chest to indicate he is a member of the Holy Order. We are at the tavern in Elmfair. The bard is performing for what is mostly a female crowd. A wench goes to bed as a group of men enter for the night. A minute later, there is a cry. Three of us rush into the room to find six bandits trying to kidnap the wench. I run in and demand that the lady be released in the name of the church. To attempt to impress them that I was clearly empowered by the creator, I cast the spell Guidance of Truth. The bandits will have no idea what I cast other than to know I have cast something. Lina starts off by blasting a huge hole in the wall with magic. It hurts but does not take out any of the bandits. Gerald moves in to attack but misses. Two bandits surround and attack me but only one hits. I hit back at the one that hit me and leave a good mark on his forehead. I'm hit again during the time that Lina and Gerald take down two bandits. One of the bandits grabs a fae enchanted item from a fallen bandit and runs. I chase after him but before I can get far, Lina falls. I cast a protection spell on her when I see the wounds are not severe. I take out a nearby bandit instead of chasing after the escaping bandit. We interrogate the bandits for information and have little luck. The bard helps us learn that the bandits are summoning something but they don't actually know what it is they are summoning. They claim that the summon will happen sooner or later but they are trying to accelerate the process and they were successful at that. We go to bed, which unfortunately includes a visit from the wench. Being quite tired, I tell her I'm too tired for her company. In the morning, she leaves for fresh clothes and we are alerted to another scream. There is a man named Michael Williams in the middle of the room. He is from a strange world called Sacramento where he is a student of Tay Kwo Dew. He is quite the offensive fool, clearly a nobleman. As we leave the tavern to go to the bandit camp, we are suddenly attacked by two archers. Quickly defeated by some fast fireballs from Lina, we head out. We decide instead to go to the fae forest to learn information about the fae enchantment that the bandits had on them. We reach the gate and as the prepare to conduct a rite of passage on Gerald, I ride past on my horse. In the Fae Kingdom, we track down the fae that made the enchantment. We learn that it was a horn for communication over great distances. One was made for the bandits and one was made for Father Salem. Father Salem's horn is so that he can communicate with Rexson. We decide for Michael's safety to leave him in the hands of the bard. We then head off to the bandits to defeat them quickly before word can be sent to Rexsom.
  4. Re: [Campaign Log] Via I never took him down. I was going to tackle him if I got to him which is why I know. I had people in the way for too long.

  9. Re: Armor Spell Question Thanks for pointing out the Uncontrolled thing. I fixed the power and made some slight changes. Blessing of the Defender: Force Field (8 PD/6 ED) (Protect Carried Items), Costs END Only To Activate (+1/4), Uncontrolled (Lasts Up to One Hour) (+1/2), Usable Simultaneously (up to 4 people at once; +3/4) (60 Active Points); Priest Spell Limitations (-2 1/4), Side Effects, Side Effect occurs automatically whenever Power is used (Side Effect only affects the recipient of the benefits of the Power; -1/2), Increased Endurance Cost (x2 END; -1/4) I opted not to give the spell hardening. Armor Piercing and Penetrating are simply not that common for it to be worth it. I did, however, lower the Simultaneously to 4 and add on 2 PD.

  11. Re: Armor Spell Question I already know the spell only lasts an hour. I'll have that limit on there if it is Uncontrolled.
  12. Re: Armor Spell Question Actually you have it backwards. On pg. 314 of the Revised it states that Linked powers cannot be seperate. They have to be in the same power if they are linked without GM approval. I HAD been doing a triple compound power and realized that my power was built wrong. The power itself looks liked this now: Aid (limitations and advantages) plus Damage Resistance (limits and advs) plus Major Transform. But the Major Transform should be a side effect because it isn't a good thing. So now I need to hit sixty points and as I'm changing it already, I might as well build it correctly.
  13. Re: Armor Spell Question I'm using an Elemental Control, I can't use a 0 END power. I was ore looking for the best build for providing a target 6/6 extra resistant protection for an hour. I had been doing a Aid with a delayed fade rate but I don't think this is the most effective.
  14. What is the best way to build a spell that provides protection to another target? I'm looking for an hour of at least 6 PDr / 6 EDr. I've looked at several possibilities such as a 1d6 AID PD & RD with linked Damaged Resistance, UBO Ranged. I just haven't found the best way yet. Now the good news (or bad depending on your outlook)... the power needs to be at least 60 Active Points. It is going in a Elemental Control with a 30 point pool. Thanks.

  16. Alice finished up the write-up for an NPC she made back when she briefly ran my The Heroes from Easthaven campaign. It is a very unique character and definitely worth sharing. The character can be found here: http://aldaric.com/easthaven?type=character&keyword=lor
  17. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Unfortunately, I can't use the answering machine messages of, "Hi guys, this is Kathleen. I'm thinking of cutting off my character's leg." It wasn't a real game quote.
  18. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Background: Wind Whisper is a spell that allows you to send a brief message to anyone you have met or know well enough from description that the GM will okay. The quote of the week is in bold, the rest leads into it. "[King Aetus] waited until after his official men had left for Calthorn, Devale and Easthaven. He hired us to take care of a problem involving the mage guilds making things difficult." "How were they making things 'difficult'?" "And what business do they have in Easthaven?" "Some spell. Wind related is all he knows. Word is travelling too fast. He wants to shut down the guilds that have the spell and any guilds that have connections to those who know it." "I don't know what the business was. I just heard him say something about sending men there. And one assassin to look out for that spell he loathes." I look at Firen. "I guess he doesn't like that Wind Whisper you made. Shame. It's handy." I look over at Vivian with a look of concern. Firen says, "I want to finished this snot off for destroying the hall when you are done." "Too bad we don't know the King, we could mock him from afar."
