Re: Hero System Good Idea/Bad Idea...
*sigh* ...What?...this is what I get when I use google translate
Saiba initial plan offers many benefits, the wounded soldiers can return to a normal, even those who have died can live again. However, people with machines is not harmony. The popular Cyber turn crazy and attack bases Goddess (Goddess) on the moon and then return to attack Earth. Battle of the war occurred in space. Eliot spacecraft carrying the Cyber after penetration has exploded Locke, Locke was hất from spacecraft in a rescue buoy students. -

I vote we migrate to the outer solarsystem

Re: Hypothetical Astronomy: The Rings of the Earth
if the moons orbit increases, doesn't the stress get LESS? Gravity does reduce with distance after all (an inverse square law and all that)

Re: No love for the Object Creation Power? (Digital HERO #7)
can't you adapt the Transform power, or use a summon.

Re: Bag of Holding
send them away with a limited EDM, bring them back with a Summon

Re: Enough to Destroy A Planet?
I have always been of the opinion that area affect attacks should have increased (rather than multiple) effect on larger characters, effectively +2dc per x8 mass (but only if the original attack breaches the defense of the character).
this would obviously have an upper limit if the target is larger than the Area affected.
the corollary would be that a small person/object would suffer less damage from area affect attacks (without being less penetrating)

Re: Drains and Suppresses
:tsk:If someone defines something with special effect Poison (IMO) it should be stopped by LS: Poison. If the designer was too lazy to include the "does not work against LS:Poison" limitation in his build then thats his bad luck/oversight.

Re: Talents in Multipowers
In most cases' date=' I would go with the 'base power(s) or skill(s)' used in the construction of the desired Talent instead.[/quote']ditto

Re: Ranged attacks while engaged in melee
One could always make a house rule (if there isn't already such) that weapons that require Concentration can be foiled by a high enough Presence attack (include violent action) making the (in this case) archer fail to attack

Re: I heart language charts
you don't have to be numerate to have words for numbers, even if it is only One, Two, Three, Many.
If they have no written language, they would definitely not have any numeric symbols (they might still denote number by scratching strokes on the ground)

Re: Hypothetical Astronomy: The Rings of the Earth
earth, being a lot closer to the sum would have two effects.
1) ice would melt - the rings would have to be made out of silicon, carbon or iron
2) even if you ignore the above, the rings would look brighter than they do orbiting saturn

Re: Teleport Strength
O think I have been misunderstood here, I was thinking of a Maneuver (where the character actually has to teleport himself as well as the focus)
-
Re: Teleport Strength
I was thinking of teleporting away with the weapon (or focus), not Useable as Attack

Re: A Storeowner's First Impression
hows this for an idea. a smaller hexman, and surrounding it are panels (skewed to perspective so they seem to be coming from the hexman) with images from each genre

Re: Why are Limited Defenses so costly?
I reckon that the limitation may be less than would be figured from above calculations, because behaviour can minimise the effect of limitations. (use different tactics if the enemy has plasma bolts rather than fire powers for example)

Re: 5th Ed: Flying Dodge
My thoughts:
If you have declared a flying dodge at your phase it should work exactly as written, automatically avoiding HTH attacks.
However
If you abort to it, your dodge happens before the attack (giving +4DCV to HTH & ranged attacks), but your movement doesn't happen until just after the attack (assuming the attack didn't stun, entangle etc)
