  4. Re: Need another name for Juggernaut... One online thesaurus gave me "Steamroller". The word actually comes from the hindi Jagannath, which is an aspect of Vishnu. So about about "Vishnu"? An online translater said "Moloch" is German for Juggernaut. Italian is "Colosso."
  5. Re: Teleportation limitations on locations. Is that mentioned anywhere in the rules? It certainly doesn't work that way in Heromaker, which is 4th edition, like Champions of the North.
  6. I was reading Champions of the North today and I noticed that Redemption on page 112 has teleportation (64 points active) with an Extra Time limitation (-1/2) on it, then in another line he buys 15 points worth of floating and fixed locations for that teleportaton, but with no limitations on it. Shouldn't the total cost of the Teleportation get the Extra Time limitation, including the extra locations? It should have 79 active points, 53 real points? Or are the locations seperate from the main power?
  7. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books? 419 - Champions of the North p112, Redemption's teleportation and locations should cost 53 total real points. His PS: Mercenary 8- should cost 1 point. He should have DF "Detects as a mutant."

  9. Re: Mental Awareness AND Telepathy? I'll take it as a mistake on the Foresight writeup.
  10. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books? Do whatever you want in your game. You may notice for instance that Barnstormer in the Allies book it says in his description that he detects as a mutant on detection devices, but it's not listed as a Disad, since they didn't do that back then. No character has that as a DF until The Mutant File was released. Also, all the mutants who were re-written after The Mutant File got it added to their writeup. Allies p15, Gumshoe has the NCM disadvantage, which means his 25 STR should cost 20 points, not the normal 15. p33, Lady Thunder should have DF "Detects as a mutant." p46, The Duke's Languages should cost 11 points, not 8. p51, Twister should have DF "Detects as a mutant." p59, The Abstracted Man should have DF "Detects as a mutant." p60, Shadowstorm's SPD bonus from his suit should cost 21 points. His Holographics Technology science skill should cost 6 points, if INT based. He should have DF "Detects as a mutant." Viper p69, the Viper Commander's Force Field Belt only costs 4 points, not the 5 listed. If you increase it to 7/5 defense then you can keep it 5 points to main the character as a 200 point character. p70, The Aikido package costs 36 points, but since all VIPER Martial Arts packages should cost 35, you can lower the KS to 11- to make it fit. p106, Stealth's recovery should cost 2 points, not 4. p131, Viperia's swimming Multipower slot should cost 6 points, not 5.
  11. Re: Mental Awareness AND Telepathy? Yes, and on page 55 of the BBB that mental powers are invisible to those who don't have mental powers or Mental Awareness. So as Allies is 4th editon, isn't Foresight buying Mental Awareness buying something she already has? I'm not aware of any other 4th editon mentalist buying Mental Awareness, since they don't need it.
  12. I just noticed that Foresight in the Allies book has both Telepathy and Mental Awareness. I thought that being able to detect mental abilities was basically given to characters with mental powers by defaut, so isn't that buying something she already has?
  13. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books? In a standard Champions setting Mutants now have a DF. It's just that some books were printed BEFORE that was standard. Check out the updated versions of character printed after The Mutant File, you may notice that DF was added. Otherwise the character wouldn't turn up positive on a mutant scanner, which means they are not a mutant.
  14. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books? Actually it does. If your not detectable as a mutant, then your... not a mutant (or your the White Queen from The Mutant File!). It's just when that book was printed they didn't use DF for mutants yet, that didn't become common until "The Mutant File" was printed. Classic Enemies p51, Black Diamond's Susceptability is worth 15 points, not 10. p88, Sparkler's Force Field should cost 26 points, and her RKA should cost 71 points. Her combat levels are probably in RKA, since she has no EB. Allies p13, Foresight's EC should have a 27 point reserve, her Clairsentience slot should cost 22 points and her Telepathy slot should cost 48 points. Her Martial Arts are only worth 14 points, not 15. She doesn't need Mental Awareness as she has Telepathy. She should have DF "detects as a mutant".
  15. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books? Classic Enemies p27, Big John should have Distinctive Features, detects as a mutant for -10 points. Also, his INT of 13 should cost 3 points, not 13.
  16. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books? I was trying to figure out Coral from the 4th editon Viper book, page 91. Coral has 20 points for 4 inches of DEF 4 Tunneling, but it should come to 34 points. Her bite is listed at 34 points, but it doesn't seem to offer any explanation as to how they came to that number. Seems to be a 3D6 HKA with AP (+1/2), 1/2 END (+1/4) and increased stun multiplier (+1/2). So that's 101 active points. Then she has no KB (-1/4), Gradual Effect 1 minute (-1/2), No STR bonus added (-1/2), and an unlisted "DVC Concentrate", probably 1/2 DCV for (-1/4). That comes to 40 points. The high point variant says increase her SPD to 5, but she already has a 5 SPD. Perhaps they meant increase to 6?
  17. Re: Looking for Hero book reviews in magazines for Wikipedia. Just to make the citations, can you provide the following: Title of the article, date of the magazine and page numbers in the magazine for those first two? I have the one from Dragon magazine already.
  18. I was looking into perhaps increasing the coverage on Wikipedia for Hero games, but to do so I'd need some reliable printed third party sources to cite. The best way to do this is printed media. So if anyone has any old magazine articles where they reviewed Hero products, please share so I can cite them. I have most of the back library for Dragon Magazine, but I know there were other ones. Perhaps anyone who has old Space Gamer or White Wolf magazines? Thanks.
  19. Re: The Circle and M.E.T.E in 6e (or 5e)? I did update the 3rd editon Circle character to 4th edition rules, maybe that helps a little getting them closer to 5th and 6th. 22. Re: For all of you Coriolis Effect fans Thanks for answering. Won't transform many people unless it's cumulative. It is meant to be? Or was it in those older rules?
  23. Re: Vehicles with Vehicles? Well, is it legal according to any form of the rules?
  24. Re: Vehicles with Vehicles? Can you multiply bases like you can vehicles? For instance get a 100 point base for 25 points, then x4 bases for 10 more points?
  25. Re: For all of you Coriolis Effect fans I was just looking through Coriolis Effect. Can anyone explain what Coriolis' "2D6 Area Transformation (into air)" supposed to be? Is she turning targets into air? Is it supposed to be an early Change Environment power? BTW - That link from the first post is now dead, but you can view archive.org's backup of the pages from that site here: http://waybackmachine.org/*/http://arcane.heroicpub.com/
