  1. Re: Converting Martial Arts from 1st edition to 4th. I just wanted to straight conversion of the 1st edition characters to make them as close to the original as possible, without change, except for being 4th edition. That's why I didn't want to give them "Martial Arts" skills, as that changes the mechanics of what they can do. I wanted to just convert them to be the same exact thing in the newer edition rules.

  4. Re: Converting Martial Arts from 1st edition to 4th. So would it be appropriate to take 1st edition Martail Arts and convert it into a hand attack? It just seems to have increased the damage.
  5. Re: Your PCs might be overpowered if... ...if it becomes more economical to list the skills, perks and talents you character DOES NOT HAVE on their character sheet, rather than the ones they do have.
  6. What would be the best way to directly convert Martial Arts levels froma 1st edition character to a 4th edition version of that character?

    Re: Cryostasis I was thinking EDM into the future with the "leaves body behind" limitation from Desolidification. That way you travel into the future, but your vulnerable body is left in place while you travel, this body can be woken up or killed before the end of the trip by external forces.
  8. Re: Nostalgia: Anybody Else Covert Old Gaming Material? I have tried to convert a lot of 2nd edition AD&D and Rifts races into packages for Hero 4th and 5th edition. It's funny how expensive many of the racial and occupational packages are, yet they are not really powerful. They have things a character would never waste points on if he was writing up a character in Champions rules directly. Also, the point value of things like psionics can vary greatly when converted. One psionic converts to 1 or 2 points in her, another costs 50.

  15. Re: Academy of Super Villain awards: The Monnies I am thinking MINOR villains like Doctor Mantis would be the sort attending, hopeing to be recognized. How about "best theme crime" for a crime that fits the villain' theme? Like Egghead stealing a golden egg? This could be good hook for a weird crime spree in your hero's city. Lots of wacky villains are stealing things based on their theme in hopes of being nominated.

  17. Re: Vehicles with Vehicles? On a related note to this thread, would it be okay to just buy multipliers of vehicles based on the highest price rather than buy multiple vehicles separately? For instance if I had a villain with a legion of followers and a fleet of vans and helicopters, should i buy 64 100 point helicopters and 64 50 point vans, or can I just buy 128 100 point or less " helicopters and vans"? The former would cost 95 points the later 55 points. Would the same math work for bases and followers? For instance Master Control has separate follower costs for Black Guard and Silver Guard? Would it be allowed to buy them based on the total number of followers and their highest point cost as one single purchase?
  18. Re: Is there a running thread for minor corrections on old books? In High Tech Enemies Master Control should probably buy Linguist as it would save him 4 points and cost him 3 points. His Interrogation and High Society should be 15- because of his high PRE stat. MC's Rival is listed as "Ironmonger", it may have ment to say "Ironmaster" who is a villain in Kingdom of Champions. MC's followers would be purchased cheaper as one group of 100 point or less followers, instead of buying them seperately for the Black Guard and Silver Guard.

  20. Okay let's say my favorite super villain groupie Monopole decided to hold an award ceremony for super villains. What would the categories be? Who would show up? What would the statue look like? What would it be like?

  24. Re: Medusa of Psi in Practice So as is standard with many mentalist vs. non mentalist combats, the first one who hits the other wins. A normal super could clobber her with one punch, or she can freeze them with one thought.
