  1. Re: Has anyone ever done the Tomorrow People in Hero rules? They seem to show in several instances that Tomorrow People can heal people, but it's difficult, and it works better if several of them help. It's implied to make be a form of Telekinesis (they telekinetically repainr damage done to someone). In the episode The Revenge of Jedikai, Elizabeth projects a hologram around herself that she's a different woman. Not sure if that's a 3d projection, or maybe a mental illusion. In one episode, a Tomorrow Person does an astral projection to go out of body unseen and observe things far away. He said he could do that even before he broke out, and it's said only SOME tomorrow people/telepaths can do that. Mike demonstrates powerful telekinesis before he fully breaks out, then once trained learns jaunting, and lastly learns telepathy (seemingly the opposite of most TPs who learn telepathy FIRST.) With the almost regular loss of powers of tomorrow people (another bad guy seems to be able to block their powers this week... maybe Tomorrow People are vulnerable to Drains, Suppresses and Transfers of their powers?

  3. Re: Robotech HERO (spec. Invid Invasion) My own attempt at writing up an Invid Shock Trooper, in Hero 4th ed. Came to 350 points. http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/ISHOCKTR.pdf The writeup is based on converting the characteristics from the Palladium RPG. Actual height, weight and lifting ability determined Growth, Density Increase and STR. Mental stats are based on the Invid pilot stats from the Palladium Robotech books.
  4. Re: Robotech HERO (spec. Invid Invasion) I'd like to view some of the write-ups in this thread but the markup language must have changed. Is there any way to translate it so I can read it easily?
  5. Re: Multipowers with the Charges limitation on the reserve. Is there a specific place in some official book that says that a Multipower with charges is limited like that? I didn't see any, but I didn't check every edition of the rule book.
  6. I had been under the impression that if you took the Charges limitation on a Multipower reserve, then each slot would have that many charges. For instance if you took a 30 point reserve and gave if 12 charges, then EACH SLOT would have 12 charges. However, I recently saw some example characters where they 12 charges, and one slot said it had 2 charges, and another 2, and another 8 - for 16 TOTAL charges for all the slots. Which is correct? edit - It was 12 charges for the reserve.
  7. Re: Giant Transforming Robot Hero Speaking of giant transforming robots, here is the biggest one I did yet. It's Depth Charge from the Revenge of the Fallen toy line. http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/DCROTF.pdf He turns into a rather large warship. Equal to 15 levels of Growth, always on. The model ship he turns into is an actual ship, called a Visby class corvette.
  8. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" So it seems the son has extra levels of ranged OCV with an extra phase concentrate, by applying his geometry to the throw.
  9. Re: Stacking Damage Reduction? As I phrased in the question, this isn't about points, in the game the character had one Damage Reduction he paid for, then added a Damage reduction from a device he gained in the course of the game. I was wondering if they stacked.
  10. Re: Wings of the Valkyrie This week I picked up a lot of Champions 3 modules on ebay for $5 plus $3.50 shipping. Wings of the Valkyrie was among them. So I paid $2.83 for it. I'll be selling the other modules back on ebay (7 Horsemen and Target Hero), so with any luck I'll have gotten it for free.
  11. Re: Has anyone ever done the Tomorrow People in Hero rules? I've been watching more episodes from Netflix. In the end of the episode "The Blue and the Green" Steven is able to erase the memories of the police men of Chris' crimes. The police are unconscious already when he does it, so I don't know if they can only erase memories of people who are unconscious. In the episode "A Rift in Time" we learn their environmental suits have a chameleon circuit that can make them appear to be any normal type of clothes you want. The circuit can only be activated by a telepath, but if a normal person is wearing one, a telepath nearby can activate this circuit. Also, in the episode Chris and Steven have to sleep on the ground in ancient times. Chris has an aching back, while Steven explains that he hovered 1 centimeter over the ground all night with his telekinesis to get a good night's sleep.
  12. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" So it seems that the mom has regneration. The daughter's telepathy isn't limited to eye contact, but it's area effect. Additionally it seems that the dad has some minor enhancement to his dex (well, it's enhanced from a normal 10). While still within human levels, it helps explain how he catches incoming fastballs and can hit targets without trying. The son seems to be able to apply his mathematics skills to the real world, enhancing his ability to his objects when throwing by calculating the trajectory of his throw. I'd assume he also kicks ass in pool. As for the plot, I'm guessing the police lady isn't dead, as that would be too quick. We didn't see her die on camera. She survived somehow, maybe with the dad saving her off camera. Also, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the mom's "sidekick" works for the bad guy. She purposely delivered the water to the wrong place to test the mom's speed/endurance. BTW - I'm not sure if the math teacher counts as a hunted with NCI, or perhaps he's just a rival in superior position (being a teacher over a student). The daughter also has a romantic rival. Mom seems to have a work rivel (the guy heckling her during the meeting in the first episode), and the dad has his own "father" rival in the dunk tank guy.
  13. Re: Kingdom of Champions expanded character sheets. p118 - The Clansman http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/CLANSMAN.pdf p136 - Earth Brother http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/EARTHBRO.pdf The Clansman had some small mistakes in his writeup. The cost of his stats was 132, not 32. His languages should cost 4 points, not 6. His Flash Defense should cost 6 points not 7. His WF should cost 12 points, not 11. Total cost of the character is 398 points.

  15. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" 4400 was canceled because it was a summer-run show which was up for renewal during the writer's strike and they couldn't start making the new season in time to air it on time. So they just let it expire. It didn't end because it was a bad show, or even unpopular.
  16. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" We don't really know if the world was normal up until now, of, if like in Heroes, there have been superhumans for hundreds of years, they just stayed off the public radar - but the military and shadow orginizations use them. I just wish shows like this didn't come around and reinvent the wheel every couple years. Why not make a series that continues a show like Heroes, The 4400, Misfits of Science, Greatest American Hero, or some other established superhero TV setting?
  17. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" Now as for the mom, it says she was traveling at 712 MPH (that's about 1146 kph). Now as for her stats I'd assume a normal, but with enhanced SPD. This is a judgement call, but I'd guess at least an 8, so she can do twice as many actions as a high end "normal". Then doing the math that 477 inches per turn - which probably translates to 30 inches x16 NCM. Probably half END cost. She also generates a Force Field of some strength (6 to 10 rEPd?) Of course if you use a different SPD, her Running could have to be altered accordingly. She might also have a higher END, or maybe a high Recovery with the limitation that it only recovers if she eats a lot.
  18. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" Firelord has 10D6 of unluck maybe?
  19. Re: Converting RIFTS to HERO I was thinking that perhaps since damage/strength in Palladium in linear, where in Champions it's exponential, you could convert by having 1 MDC be 1 Armor, 2 MDC is 2 Armor, 4 MDC is Armor, etc... MDC/Armor (resistant ED and PD) 1/1 2/2 4/3 8/4 16/5 32/6 64/7 128/8 256/9 512/10 1024/11 That way when converting Rifts dragons and the like, with 400 MDC, they have 9 or 10 armor. Oh, here are two Villians Unlimited conversions, the mutant sisters Ping and Pong from the JP gang. 21. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" Maybe he's been working out and drinking his milk? 20 tons is about STR 48. (with 25 tons being STR 50, and assuming even breaks in weight from STR 45 to STR 50 at 2.5 tons each).
  22. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" I think Spider-Man's strength of 10 tons comes to a STR of 43, if you go the math on the chart, since STR 45 is 12.5 tons. It would be nice if 10 tons was a nice round number in STR like 40 or 45, but that's not how the chart is written.
  23. Say you have a character with innate Damage Reduction (75% resistant ED), then they get ahold of a laser reflective suit that has 50% resistant ED vs. lasers. How do you cover this? Do they get the highest only? Apply one than the other?
  24. Re: Has anyone ever done the Tomorrow People in Hero rules? Found another power demonstrated in the episode "The Blue and the Green", where Stephen is leaving before finishing his dinner. He looks back at the table and teleports a piece of fruit to his hand. Must be a low power, line of sight, teleport useable against others. Also in this episode Stephen telekinetically unlocks a locked door. At one point in the episode John throws a telekinetic hailstorm of objects in a room at his targets.
  25. Re: Campaign Concept Source: "No Ordinary Family" It was 11,000 lbs. I just rewatched that scene. Looks like I called it on the strength. STR 38 is exactly 11,287 lbs. That's also a little over 5 tons. Half Spider-Man Strength. It also said he can bound a quarter mile, which is 402 meters. Now assuming he has a normal 4 SPD and leaps every turn, that comes to him covering about 60 miles in an hour of continuous bounding. A STR of 38 and normal weight character normally leaps 7 inches (14 meters), and double non-combat to 14 inches (28 meters). So to make that closer 402 meters you could buy him 6 inches of Superleap and 3 more non-combat multipliers. That gives him 416 meters in one leap, which is as close as I can get with the rules. This starts to give us a character sheet for him. Assume a normal with STR 38 Spd 4 Armor 12 rEPd Missile Deflection (up to bullets, high roll as he never seemed to miss) Superleap 6 inches x3 noncombat multipliers Skills should reflect his job - PS - Artist, Research, Perk - Police employee?, contacts in the department,
