  3. Re: Answers & Questions Q: What part of you should I munch on first, Drow Librarian Assassin? A: a Magic Wand, not a dagger!
  4. Re: DnD 3.5 to HERO 5e Conversion Burn. Exactly! *hi5*
  5. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER You talkin' to ME?!
  6. Re: THE HERO SYSTEM EQUIPMENT GUIDE -- What Would *You* Like To See? Thanks Steve. =D But... I really would like to see sharks with fricken laser beams attached to their heads
  7. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Ooo! I thought of something. first, see under my name where it says "Standard Normal"? and under Bazza's it says "Harry's Reasons"? How do I change that? Second: Everyone should start posting their comical comic ideas, like funny super hero names and their funny powers, or anything else. My favourite super hero is Post-Op. He lived a normal life as a pizza delivery boy, when, during surgery after a horrendous car accident, something terrible happened. Now, he's the sexy, seductive and all to sassy SuperHero Post-Op! He's got.. er!.. She's got super genital powers, super 'failed-blind-dating' powers, and is the head of an extremely secretive, underground society, with connections all over the city. Her cronies, playing out her every scheme, are armed, dangerous and rumoured to all be transvestites...
  8. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Bazza, I have no idea what you just said.. but I thought I'd contribute to this thread. Nerds Unite!
  9. Re: DnD 3.5 to HERO 5e Conversion I see. I suppose it's just a strange concept to me.
  10. Re: DnD 3.5 to HERO 5e Conversion Well what if it was the case that certain templates used up all of your base character points? Wouldn't you say that individual was at a certain disadvantage by virtue of the fact that they don't get to choose anything about their character beyond what characteristics they get with the template? I guess that 'balance' I'm refering pretains to the choice a PC makes when deciding which race to choose. Because, if you're running a D&D campaign, then that's part of your character creation, and typically, people chose races based on their compatability with the class choice. So, if I conceptualized my character as being an Elf who had x number of skills, then it would be impossible because I wouldn't have enough character points. I'd then had to switch over to human in order to choose the skills I wanted. Just food for thought.
  11. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Large photographs of Justin Bieber. He's so cute... they'll HAVE to surrender!! (totally kidding on that one /barf) NT: What Super Power is Justin Bieber hiding from the world?
  12. Re: THE HERO SYSTEM EQUIPMENT GUIDE -- What Would *You* Like To See? My sincerest apologies if any of the above list was already layed out in the rules, already published in a supplemental book, or was just plain silly to suggest. I'm fairly new to the Hero System and the forums.
  13. Re: THE HERO SYSTEM EQUIPMENT GUIDE -- What Would *You* Like To See? Well, we've had some discussion about things that are not in the book.. Lets discuss something that is in the book. To be honest, I'm not sure what stats are really needed for most equipment. Weapons are obviously a different story, but they're also rather straightforward, and I'm sure Steve wouldn't have too much trouble going through a couple of books and assigning damage classes to mannequin arms and human-sized meat grinders. Computers perhaps, or computer-like electronics such as cell phones, PDAs, voice-controlled computer glasses, pens that are bombs, communication headsets, scanners with different senses. General James Bond-type stuff. Batman type stuff: hang gliding capes, boomerang bombs, tool belts, SHARK REPELLANT!! Medical supplies that potentially heal BODY or STUN, like sedatives, or anti-biotics, salves and bandages, bio-gels (like in Mass Effect), andrenaline shots, and other types of 'positive- and negative-effect' drugs. Miniature Robots. I had an idea that a medic had a set of spider-like robots (like those 'Roaches from Minority Report) that were programmed to help him do surgeries. Perhaps different body- and power-suits could count as held equipment. Different type of space suits which obviously have life support, jet packs, and some sort of resistance to radiation and the like, Mining suits which have drillbit arms and reverse-thruster feet, 'Mech suit, like the one's Marines wear from StarCraft, Thief clothes with false pockets, boot-knives, reversible, camouflaged or even armours that are built for 'quick release' disrobing. A list of Special Materials: Mithral, Dragonhide, Ironwood, Titanium Carbide, Wootz Steel, Tetraosmia <---(I made that one up, but you get the picture) And of course, the mundane crap: animal call, ascender/slider, ear plugs, fishing tackle, ice ax, jewler's loupe, lanters, magnets, money belts, percolator, periscope, snorkel, snowshoes, general tools, backpacks, caltrops, crowbar, grappling hook guns, locks, telescope, whitsles, ropes and cables, manacles, smoke bombs and flash grenades, mace. Kits and Outfits: Thieve's kit, healer's kit, disguise kit, climber's kit, navigator's kit, demolition kit, swat outfit, desert/winter outfit, climbing outfit, science/research kit, communications kit, Magic Items ... i won't list 'em And of course, the mundane crap: animal call, ascender/slider, ear plugs, fishing tackle, ice ax, jewler's loupe, lanters, magnets, money belts, percolator, periscope, snorkel, snowshoes, general tools, backpacks, caltrops, crowbar, grappling hook guns, locks, telescope, whitsles, ropes and cables, manacles, smoke bombs and flash grenades, mace. Last, but not least.. everyone's favourite: Sharks with fricken lazer beams attached to their heads!
  14. Re: DnD 3.5 to HERO 5e Conversion Ah, I just saw Killer Shrike's Human template. It's really good, but I guess the question of whether these are balanced or not is still up in the air. I guess I think D&D was extremely well balanced, with level adjustment and all that, but you did a fantastic job, Killer Shrike.
  15. Re: DnD 3.5 to HERO 5e Conversion I got a few questions and comments: 1. With these racial package deals... would they be something that you would purchase with character points? It seems to me that the benefits one recieved from certain races in D&D might become totally useless in Hero if you had to purchase them. To put that in perspective: a Human race conversion (not that one is necessary) would afford a character extra character points to spend on skills, and perhaps extra character points to spend on 'feats'. It wouldn't really be a package deal that you wouldn't have to purchase at all, and when compared to one that you did have to purchase, it would become rather unbalanced in my opinion. If 50 character points was your base, and Elf would have 33 points when it came time to purchase skills and a Human might have, say... 65? and 2. I take offense! lmao jk
  16. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Wolverine Jack-in-the-Box. da-dum da-dum da-dee-dee-deedum, da dum SLICE! NT:Titles of "holiday specials" of comic books.
  17. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Get all the hobos in the States to pee on the fire. They need jobs and a sense of self-worth.. and we want them gone NT: Ways to fix poverty.
  18. Re: Projected Force Fields mmm, Sound delicious. Is it a separate book that you have to purchase? I'm going to take the plunge pretty soon and buy hard copies of the rule book. I'm cheap, you see, livin' the university life.
  19. Re: Mind control question I'm not to experience with Heroes, but I'd interpret Mind Control as actions only. As if you were "in" his/her mind, "controlling" them. But I haven't rad the entry. lol.
  20. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat Young Frankenstien was awsome! Operation Repo, The Musical
  21. Re: Gravity powers That was crazy! That was obviously on a boat or something? And yes, that is almost exactly what I want to be able to do. I was basically thinking of up and down, but ultimately side to side as well. Sweet vid.
  22. Re: Gravity powers Thanks Lord Liaden, that's some good advice. Of course, Density increase would only work for taking things to the ground. I also think TK would work for putting people in the air. WOOT!
