  1. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Wear earplugs at work. When someone complains about not being able to verbally get your attention, tell them the obnoxious music is "distracting".
  2. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Not exactly...
  3. Re: Musings on Random Musings Yes... but they're WORDS! All six of them!
  4. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I've finally quantified what it is that I despise about certain songs: if, as the songwriter, I'd have been embarrassed to write down "lyrics" like "b-b-bow bow bow bow bow, b-b-bow bow bow bow bow, b-b-bow bow bow bow bow, bow-bow bow-bow, d-do do-do-do", I'd have ditched that part, left my song at 1:34 long and called it good.
  5. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? This is a revelation?..
  6. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. I *do* want kids... Chicago-style...
  7. Re: The cranky thread Appetite also affected by mood/stress, which seems to be a likely possibility, given the surrounding issues. Still a good thing to get checked.
  8. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Green Lantern.
  9. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Catwoman with a Fiddler on a Hot Tin Roof.
  10. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Buncha freakin' kids around here.
  11. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Friend:"...You sing along with O, Fortuna?.." Me: "...You don't?.."
  12. Re: The cranky thread The only Sanity point that matters is the last one.
  13. Re: The cranky thread If you go to the DMV, you can get a license to do it yourself.
  14. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Yes, this.
  15. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. "I'm not an MMO developer, I know how to spell."
  16. Re: The cranky thread Ah, maintenance. There's the nitrod level of ignoramusness we were looking for. But yeah, you can bounce something off of tempered glass and still break it. I'd tend to agree with either of your two likely suspects.
  17. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread Very cool. And does make sense: friendships and people change over time, not always in obvious ways. Sometimes it takes a good sit-down to figure out what's still what, and what isn't. Oddest damn thing that's happened to me in years: my mother-in-law's best friend of the last several decades just up an told her (in effect) "I don't like how our friendship has gone. I feel like I've been mistreated all this time. I want nothing more to do with you." Now, to be fair, mother-in-law can be a tad snobby and overbearing at times. But... if her friend had a problem with this all these years and didn't say something?.. Most of the blame is hers, honestly. Unfortunately, Michelle and I were good friends with her son... who promptly stopped speaking to us. Go figure. Life moves on, and so did we... rapidly. I really have very little energy in this life to spare for spineless pettiness.
  18. Re: The cranky thread I have come up as "second choice with only one position available" for the last three interviews I've had. Cool that I'm doing this well when the competition is so tight... but yeah, I'm a little peeved, lately.
  19. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Just watched The Fifth Element again. Classic "RPG players borrow lines from this movie" movie.
