Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread In other news, my Mom will be visiting us in Seattle (from AZ) this weekend. Haven't spent time with her since we moved from Phoenix, 3 years ago. She may be dragging her sister along, whom we haven't seen in... longer. A lot longer. On top of which, yay time off.

Re: The cranky thread The problem is that for any of your daily (or even weekly) acquaintances, such changes are too subtle for them to notice til you mention it, at which point they do a mental rewind and realize that yes, you DO look different. Someone who knows you as well, but hasn't seen you in a month or more, is a lot more likely to notice, because you have "over night" significantly altered the "pattern" you fit into in their head. You're your own best cheering section for stuff like this. Sadly, most people suck at that, to one extreme or the other.

Re: Since CoH is gone... Ummm... no? The option to play for free went live about a year ago. The only thing that happened at the shutdown announcement was that no accounts would be billed from the announcement (8/31) through the planned closure date (11/30).

Re: Since CoH is gone... I'll be blunt: I'm far too bitter about NCSoft's "d*** move" to play another superhero MMO without a great deal of resentment, right now. This is especially true when a) CO always felt more like an arcade "fighter" game than a genuine MMO, and I trust Cryptic and PWE almost as little. Which is 0.01% above "none", honestly.

Re: The cranky thread We all are. The team at Paragon Studios was informed, without any other warning, Friday afternoon. They let the players know about 15 minutes later. I'd decided 2-3 years ago that I was never again doing any new business with NCSoft, due to other decisions on their part. Many of us knew they were trying to strangle CoH, so that they could let it go and say "not our fault". Apparently, since that failed, they gave in and axed it with the blunt side. Since they've never cared about their North American and European players, they really have nothing to lose, from their perspective. I suppose it's "nice" to know I made the right decision.

Re: Multiform Only In Hero ID is really only applicable when a character doesn't have access to some or all abilities and powers while in the "normal" ID (the ones that took that limitation), but still has all the same disadvantages.
