  1. Re: The cranky thread Send them a blank DVD with the hand-scrawled label stating "Most Efficient DvD EVER!!!™"
  2. Re: A Thread for Random Musings No migraine today. Just the "head stuffed with 41 lbs of compressed lint" feeling that typically follows, and that I despise almost as much.
  3. Re: The cranky thread I'm convinced that Taleo is the first part of the employee vetting process for some companies - "If you can put up with this crap, you can work here." As such, I've made it part of my company vetting process - "If you use Taleo, I'd rather work elsewhere."
  4. Re: The cranky thread Waking up to a migraine sucks even more than just having one.
  5. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Bumper sticker: "got jesus?" Room mate: "Yeah, but I left him in a cave for three days, and he spoiled."
  6. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. A shirt I want to make for a friend: "There is no silence so profound that it cannot be filled by some nit-wit with nothing to say." (just thought of that a few days ago ) A shirt I already gave to my wife: "I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you. You're just not participating." (thought of that one a year or two ago) A shirt I need to (re)make for myself: "If I wanted your opinion, I'd read your entrails." (from a shirt a friend bought for me a few years ago - I wore it to death... )
  7. Re: The cranky thread I plan on standing at ground zero and watching.

  9. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. I'm reminded of a "conversation" I had with a co-worker many years ago: Co-Worker: *inane blather* Me: *reads book* Co-Worker: *more inane blather* Me: *still reading book* Co-Worker: *even more inane blather* Me: *continues reading book* Co-Worker: "..." Co-Worker: "You're not even listening to me, are you?" Me: *while still reading book* "...nope..." Co-Worker: "..." Actually managed to shut him up for... a whole 15 minutes, I think. Not sure, wasn't keeping track.
  10. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. "At three in the morning, English becomes my second language... and doesn't get replaced by anything."
  11. Re: The cranky thread Dammit, I don't have anything to be cranky about! Oh... wait... Yaayyy!!!
  12. Re: [New Product] Champions Complete Want! Where? When? How?
  13. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. By living on a very small planet?..
  14. Re: Musings on Random Musings "Only live ones."
  15. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? In season two of Babylon 5. Disc two of the anime Basilisk. Saw The Amazing Spider-man last week at a dinner theater.
  16. Re: The cranky thread I haven't been able to have cats around for 10 years, so I'm sending a big pile of saved cat-hugs.
  17. Re: The cranky thread Heh, funny that. For whatever reason, usually when I'm dealing with an upset stomach, the taste or smell... even the idea of chicken turns it. I have no idea why. Might be a deep-seated memory from childhood or something. Doesn't happen every time, but it happens a lot. Nothing else is that consistent, in that regard. Outside of that circumstance, I love chicken. Most folks just assume I'm weird.
  18. Re: The cranky thread "Stomach bugs" are most often mild cases of food poisoning. Not likely to be related. Still, hope you both get to feeling better.
  19. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Yes... the OUTside...
  20. Re: Quote of the Week From My Life. Considering how well many celebrities learn to manage their finances, this might be quite accurate...
  21. Re: What Have You Watched Recently? Finally got to go see Prometheus before it left theaters here. Cool show, minor discontinuity with the original Alien.
  22. Re: The "Nice Happy" Thread Well, it would appear that my succinct delineation of exactly how (not) far I would allow them to strongarm me into a shift I wouldn't actually be able to work has had the desired effect. Jury still out, so this is a rather reserved happy.
