  1. Here's an interesting scenario. My buddy has mad a character who's main form is a spirit. He has to possess someone to affect the real world. But in his spirit form he has bought his strength down to -25, which was the limit he had found in the 5e book. We went through the Ultimate Brick and he said he'd be willing to allow the -50 that it's table goes to. This seems a little to abusive to me since, as a noncorporeal form he cannot use his strength anyways. Buying it back seems like a whack of free points. I figure there has to be some leeway but 25 or even 50 points (aside from the fact that HD2 allows you to go below -200!) strikes me as excessive. What are your thoughts? Thanks
  2. Re: Skills in a Base Thankee sir. Tis exacatully what I thought.
  3. Re: Skills in a Base Ok, second follow-up question. The base I am using for reference has followers (8 robots). Now, without the book handy I would think that getting the followers at a 1 for 10 cp is illegal. Any thoughts?
  4. Re: Skills in a Base I like your thinking. I don't think my GM will have a problem with it, but if he does I'll get the official word from Steve. Thanks for the timely response too
  5. Re: Skills in a Base Actually, here's a follow-up. Can a base have the Scientist Skill Enhancer?
  6. Re: Skills in a Base Wow! Talk about fast responses. You two must like speedsters . Thanks for the info. Now on to that base.
  7. Heyall, I am building a base for my character who is a scientist and I am wondering what the purpose of giving the base skills is? I don't have my rule book with me, which is why I am asking; I'm sure the answer is in it . Anyway, I am using an example base as a point of reference but it has skills and I was wondering if they actuallly give anyone who uses the base that skill at the stated rank for the time they use the facilities, or is it an indication of the level of help the facilities gives a character with the stated skill? Thanks
  8. What powers would you need the advantages does not affect self or hole in the middle? Example) If I bought an explosion naked modifier for my strength in order to emulate a groundstrike, would I need to make myself immune to it? Thanks, Crayadder
  9. Re: What Would Your Character Do? #64: Shooting Star Lobe: Scratches head. Walks up to the stranger and lifts him up off the ground by the scruff of the neck. He carefully studies the ground. Returning his attention to the stranger, who is hanging 5 feet off the ground, Lobe enquires, "I don't get it. Where did he go?"
  10. Thanks for your help guys. You gave me some good ideas and now I am off to try them out. Cray
  11. The Bow is called Alanthastos (greek for 'unerring') and has a multifier 5 on it, plus has a basic 1d6-1 ranged killing attack that it adds to every arrow shot from it. It also has an increased range of 1,875" The Quiver is called Pistos (greek for 'true') and I as thinking that it would either supply arrows modified to the bowman's diesire (vpp?) or a set number of arows he can fire in a day (charges and multipower?) One of his special arrows is a teleport other randomly within 6" megascale of 1 level. Hope that gives you a better idea to work with. Crayadder
  12. Ok, well since the whole archer thing is so vogue right now I guess I couldn't as for a better time to get an answer to my dilemma. I am trying to create a bow separately from the quiver of arrows so that if the quiver ran out (charges) or was taken away (oaf) he can still fire normal arrows with his bow. Arrows that he say buys from an archery store. The reason I am thinking of this is because I want the bow and quiver to be separate gifts: the bow from one god and the quiver from the other. Basically he could also use a normal bow to fire his arrows if he doesn't have use of his bow. Have at it ladies and gentleman. Crayadder
  13. Thanks for the kudos and the info. I didn't know that, I haven't read a comic in years . I'll definately check it out though.
  14. In a campaign my buddy runs, WW3 has happened and the vast majority of heros have fallen. I created a character who took over as 1 of the remaining 6 Green Lanterns in the Galaxy, since the entire Corps was involved in the war as well and perished. This picture is my concept of that character. It is originally a picture of ROM spaceknight, from the short lived revival comic series. (Such a shame too, the art was beautiful!). I used Photoshop to modify pretty much everything and the ring is a plastic green lantern decoder ring that I manipulated to look fairly authentic. Greg Temple is the character's normal identity and he is a parapalegic, African-Canadian who is Earth's premier expert on Superhumans and their powers. Green Lantern
  15. How about putting an explosion advantage onto strength? What do you guys think?

    Super Names

Here are my names: Lobe - Big dumb Brick (Irony at its best. He wouldn't even know wht the word lobe means. Basically it is poking fun at the fact that he acts like he is missing one) Audio - Speed and Sound manipulation (My second ever character. He had sonar, sound generation, super speed, hyper intelligence, invention, sound control. Think the flash mixed with Reed Richards) Whisper - Same as Audio (This was Audio's alias when he went out as a vigilante. He would deaden the sound in any area he went into and sneak up on his victims, all bad guys of course, and finish them. He was very into intimidation) Vector - Speed and Gamma Strength (This is audio after he created 5 synthazoids and used all his powers but speed and hyper intelligence to imbue them with powers of their own. He then was caught in a Gamma Radiation explosion while saving Bruce Banner from a failed experiment to fix She-Hulk. The explosion gave him a minor form of the Hulk's strength increase but increased his speed to the point where he could time travel) Magnesia - Chemical creation/control, Magnetic Control, and Gravity manipulation. (My very first character ever. The 'Magne' is for magnetic and the Magnesia is after Milk of Magnesia, a chemical mixture. He would create explosive mixtures on the spot and encase them in mercury, then using his magnetic control, hurl the chemical grenade at an area at the same time using gravity increase to root his targets. Chemical grenades!) Of the synthezoids I created the following name may not have been submitted: Enormity - A female with density increase and gravity control. she could use both on others. She also had emotion control and would cause her foes's current emotions to grow enourmously (hence another meaning of enormity). Hope you all like
  17. Excellent advice fellas, thanks. Certainly gives me something to go on now. I'll definately check out the FAQ on Naked Power Advantages. If anyone else has any ideas or would like to expand on the excellent ones already here, type away. A good resource on creating a Ground Strike will be valuable to anyone who loves attacking villains by punching/stomping the ground Crayadder
  18. Thanks for the suggestions. I was wondering if innominatus could give me an example? The rules in the book for naked power advantages are not very clear to me. Thanks again. Cray
  19. I have searched fruitlessly for any information on how to create a ground strike based on a character's strength. My character, Lobe, has a base strength of 90 and it can fluctuate as high as 138 based on his absorption power. I am trying to create a ground strike for him that will have a variable damage rating depending on what his strength is at any given moment. I also want him to be able to do a line strike, cone strike or radius strike by choice. The Line strike has the greatest range with the cone coming second in range and the radius blast significantly shorter. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
