  1. Re: Labs in Bases... This is still the way it is, though I find it's far too expensive to have any really good labs around! You'd think that the system would encourage lab use in bases, and not just boil it down to 'a clubhouse where we have lasers to defend us.' This can be done as well, but you still need the skill bought by the base to say it has that lab for the computer to use.
  2. Re: Labs in Bases... Agreed, but then you'd have to include the disads that you don't seem so fond of, no?
  3. Re: Labs in Bases... Yeah, see that's along the lines I was thinking. It makes way more sense to me overall.
  4. Re: So...About Seeker... Well, what can I say, we were very dedicated to making our games the best games. I do have to say I haven't experienced gaming like we used to do since, though it's come close, and I hope to bring some of it out in my new campaign.
  5. Re: So...About Seeker... The group I speak of [back home in Windsor, On] always put together booklets before each campaign, unless it was taking place in a Universe that was already familiar and well used [by us]. Even then there would usually be a small handout detailing events that may make that storyline a little different. Our tastes vary from yours obviously, and none of my group liked the Champions very much.
  6. In order to put a lab in a base, you just purchase the appropriate skill at an appropriate level, right? My questions are: Why wouldn't you just purchase skill levels in the appropriate skill? I mean, the lab itself isn't making the skill roll, you need the skill yourself to really know what you're doing, the lab just allows you use of the proper equipment... this says skill levels to me. Wouldn't the labs use the 'partial coverage' rule? I mean, you can't tell me that you can use the Forensics lab anywhere on the premises... What about the Focus limitation? Clearly the lab is a focus, no? What about expendable things in said labs? Multipower for labs? We've seen 'Utility Belts' done this way, why not labs in a base? Am I just thinking too much about it, and I should just leave it as is?
  7. Re: So...About Seeker... I have never really liked any of the Champions, so it's no skin off my back that Seeker is an Australian Ninja who dresses nothing like a ninja, doesn't have ninjutsu, etc etc... I'd much rather use my own Universe, and I'm sure there's many others here who feel the same.
  8. Re: Why is Strength so underpriced? My thought on COM was that it was so low because nearly every super should have it... unfortunately the 'percieved value' of the stat then drops.... Not to mention the 'Real Value' of the stat... which is nearly 0. That said, I always make sure to give some thought to COM for every character I build and place it at an appropriate level.
  9. Re: Megaphone Oh yeah, there's a host of powers you could make with a megaphone as the SFX. +25 PRE Offensive Only, OAF Megaphone, charges and all that.... Or some limited form of Mind Control with the "People are Sheep" SFX... I'm sure there's more, but I am tired.
  10. Re: Megaphone Well to be totally silly, aren't you actually giving the other people in the area a limited Clairsentience??? 14pts MEGAPHONE!: Clairsentience (Hearing Group), 1 Recoverable Continuing Fuel Charge lasting 6 Hours (+0), Reduced Endurance (0 END; +1/2), Usable As Attack (+1), Area Of Effect Nonselective (321" Cone; +2) (90 Active Points); Independent (-2), Only to hear user of MEGAPHONE! Power loses about two-thirds of its effectiveness (-1 1/2), OAF (-1), Concentration, Must Concentrate throughout use of Constant Power (1/2 DCV; -1/2), One Sense Only (Normal Hearing Only; -1/4) [1 rc] Apologies for not making it 'perfect' - I mean a real megaphone can have a range up to .5 miles (statute) is equal to 804.67200 meters, so 403" approx. They generally use batteries and have approximately a 6 hour Battery life.
  11. Re: Diceless damage Sorry guys, as much as I usually like and agree with both Sean and Presti, I have to disagree with this one. I have no problem counting dice really quickly, and I enjoy rolling those huge amounts of dice, I think it adds to the atmosphere of "My character has gained SUPER POWERS, and now it's time to use them!!"
  12. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often Yeah, I can understand that... being the 'best' yet not allowed to compete is a little frustrating... Ah well, at least you got to retire him in an appropriate manner. Sometimes that's the best part of a character.
  13. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often Characters like that are what makes the games worth playing. I went to school for acting, and I take that point of view when roleplaying. Stats and skills and such are just game mechanics that make my character go. It's like driving a car... Enjoy the drive, worry less about how the engine works, so long as it does. I had one character in VtM, [we started back in 91 when it came out, we had one of the first VtM books in Canada] who literally came to life off of the page. Marcus scared me at times, he was so real. I honestly had no control over what he would do, lol. On numerous occasions I asked to spend a willpoer point to have him NOT do something that I knew he would do... the Storyteller just looked at me and said "You, the player, want to spend a willpower point for the character??? Just allow the character to do what he will, let him have his willpower points to succeed at things he really wants to succeed at." Oh yeah, he succeeded alright... in becoming the "villain behind the scenes" of every campaign run by any of those players involved since... Great endless source of material though, Marcus buying his way out of hell and returning to earth, numerous times...
  14. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often And I, for one, certainly did
  15. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often Sounds like a great character! Did you actually get to play the Dark Side Character?
  16. Re: Need help with my PC You know, with an attitude like that, you're going to get on a lot of people's ignore list very quickly... oh, look at that. I can only hope you get somewhere with the help of these fine folks who again, are far more patient than I. Good Luck.
  17. Re: Need help with my PC Congrats to everyone, you have far more patience than I.
  18. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often well sheesh, how many points was the campaign at that point???
  19. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often Not to say you didn't earn it, but what GM in his/her right mind would let you put that many points into STR???
  20. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often lmao, nice... So yeah, this is a superHERO game....
  21. Re: Duke (art and characters) Yeah well... you can't dodge a longbow with a magic missile enchantment on it!
