  1. Re: Duke (art and characters) Magic Missile! Magic Missile! Sleep! Sleep! Sleep! You can't hit me, I'm wearing boots of escaping! I live in a world of cold steel, and dragons!
  2. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often lmao! Nice...
  3. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER The Gods Must be Crazy.
  4. Re: what to do with a psychic gorilla The Gorilla's name isn't Ishmael is it? Quinn's books are a must read. Anyhow, Ishmael sincerely wants to help the world, he's a psychic Gorilla. But he believes that mankind has basically fallen off the deep end and needs to return to it's more tribal roots. Fits right in with what others have been saying...
  5. Re: Duke (art and characters) Yeah, Dungeon Siege is over for me now, I think they are still filming until mid October for other scenes.... Oh and as far as I know, the title has changed to "In the Name of the King" Here are some pics... I'm in the 3rd pic down, on the left side. Also in the 4th row down, the middle and right pics... I look like I'm 12 there though, lol... 5th row down on the left is me again in a helmet... Another of me in armour at a different location. The boys and I in armour. I'm second from the right in case you can't tell. Another of the boys and I. Bottom right, kneeling. One of me ready to chop! Hope you enjoy those.
  6. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Can anyone believe it's been three days since anyone posted in this thread??? Man, this thread is long.
  7. Re: [Campaign] Champions of Vancouver and wow, what an interesting session... lol
  8. Re: Give me your house rules! Nice. I think I'm going to use that in my upcomming game. Thanks again. EDIT: do you only allow them to use said amount of active points at a time, limited by their END? or just that their END is the max active points they can use in a single power?
  9. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often Players that can't keep IC info IC and OOC info OOC don't belong in my group. I'll chastise them whether I'm GMing or playing. And agreed on the asking the GM if I can make a roll to see if he knows something I think he might know. lol, in Vampire I've actually asked the Storyteller if I could spend a Willpower point on behalf of my character because he was going to do something that I, as a player, didn't want him to do... yeah well, he did it anyway. Damn you M.D. for selling your soul for power!!!
  10. Re: Limitations You Would Like to See More Often Limited Power: Power Does Not Work to Destroy Plot Devices... One of the characters in our game decided that destroying a wand that his powers sensed as being 'alive' was a good idea... yeah, ack. Let's just say it 'was in character' so not that big of a deal... but it certainly screwed up QM's plans for the storyline... He recovered rather nicely though, and treated us to some great descriptions of the time travel incurred by destroying a sentient temporal device... Of course my character lost 3 days worth of time, which is not so good when you have a 14yr old daughter and your alter ego is the top Archaeology Professor at U.B.C.....
  11. Re: Help: Using Extra-Dimensional Movement as a defensive power Putting 'Hole in the middle' on a movement power is blowing my mind. Is this legal? Is it ethical? moral? ack.... Shouldn't it also get the "no range" lim? The spherical gate is blowing my mind too... yikes. Repped by the way.
  12. Re: Duke (art and characters) Wednesday was my last Dungeon Siege day as far as I know... looking forward to some work on X-3 where you can actually see my face...
  13. Re: I don't quite grok the Multiform rules. lol, yeah, show those guys how it should be done
  14. Re: I don't quite grok the Multiform rules. Well, that could work, but I think I'd disallow "No Conscious Control" on this one, I think the people who use this power know exactly what they're doing
  15. Re: Give me your house rules! Keep us updated on the "END as Set Regulator" - I am interested in trying that out as well.
  16. Re: Give me your house rules! Well not so much 'house rules' but I've always loved this from an old school D6 Star Wars site. We would use this as a template and make our own version for whatever game we were playing at the time. It always helped to remind players that the game is about telling an entertaining story and the characters involved in such. That kept the action going more than any house rules we used. Although for HERO we often threw out the END rules as most people have already mentioned. Keeping a high level of energy is of the utmost importance though. As a GM that is primarily your responsibility. Use music, maps, models, etc. Whatever it takes to keep your players/characters on edge.
  17. Re: I don't quite grok the Multiform rules. I think perhaps he was making a statement about how this thread is 'stuck'
  18. Re: XP idea Yes I agree with you on wanting to see the characters change, and grow in power, as they move along. And granted most HERO Supers campaigns I find rarely go much past 20 sessions... those that do are the stuff of legend.
  19. Re: XP idea I will have to read more on this when I get the chance, looks very interesting though. Personally, I don't think it's all that bad to have a more arbitrary system of XP, I'm the GM and I know what I think is fair for all concerned. Not to say charts like yours aren't handy, and I'll take some of it into account for my next game most likely. It earned you some Rep anyhow.
  20. Re: Liefeld's Titans Yeah, I think I'd have to actually lose my sight in order to lose sight of that fact. Even then I may be haunted by Juggy's teeth.
  21. Re: Liefeld's Titans Actually, this is a much better way to put the point I am trying to make.
  22. Re: Liefeld's Titans I don't remember exactly what year Batman Year Two came out in, but every source I can find says 1990. I can understand you have issues with McFarlane, but that point still stands that in 1984 his 'big break' came from Marvel. Regardless, he's known as a Marvel artist moreso than a DC artist. It's ok, I'm jealous of Todd too. I'm by no means saying the guy can do no wrong, just saying that he's a very hard working artist. And he could get a book out on time. And he's 'from Marvel' as opposed to being from DC. Well there's no doubt people do things like that, and none of us are angels. I know I've pushed work onto underlings when the deadlines got tough. I think the majority of us would do the same. Does that make it right that your friend didn't get proper credit? No, of course it doesn't.
  23. Re: Liefeld's Titans Yeah, but you'd be wrong on that one... From his own site... His break finally came when Todd accepted an offer from Marvel/Epic Comics in March 1984, pencilling "Scorpio Rose," an 11-page backup story in the comic book Coyote. Infinity Inc wasn't until 1985 I believe...
