  1. Re: Low-End/Less Flashy Superpowers suggestions needed... Except those were nano-bots, these would be metagene altered cells able to temporarily rebuild the character, essentially a superhuman organic version of nano-bots.
  2. Re: Low-End/Less Flashy Superpowers suggestions needed... I had been wanting to do a cyborg character but wanted to stay with the Metagene orgin type so what I was thinking is that the character was injected with metagenetically engineered cells that act like nano-bots, allowing them to temporarily strengthen the bones and musculature of the character as well as enhance reaction time through the speeding up of nerve impulses through the CNS and PNS, possibly even generate hardened bone spurs or transform the knuckles into super-dense material to act as organic brass knuckles- does anyone think this would work well?
  3. Re: Low-End/Less Flashy Superpowers suggestions needed... Thanks for all the great ideas- already used one of the ideas (or a variation of it anyways) and think I might be mining a few more out of those presented.
  4. Re: Low-End/Less Flashy Superpowers suggestions needed... Thanks for the response so far- I might be able to use some variation 0f these powers but I'm not sure yet, they are similar to ideas that I had and rejected already for various reasons or they don't fit the feel of the team that I'm going for. As it is, the TK is the most likely one that I'll use but had hesitated earlier because even low-mass TK can be extremely lethal if used intelligently. Kahuna's bro- I had originally thought of the force enhancer having adrenaline boost but decided my ideas for him were naturally too derivative of the character of Bill on Alphas, so I went with another way to increase his strength or speed or both together in a se-saw sort of way.
  5. Hey, working on a background element of a potential gameworld and could use some inspiration/suggestions. The team that I am working on is the CMRT- Canadian Metahuman Response Team, a government group along the lines of the team in Alphas or the old Painkiller Jane tv show- they deal with metahumans and most of them (all but one, most likely) are metahumans with less flashy and/or low-end powers- so far I have one character who is a universal translator, but this extends to body language, mathematics, and even music as well as normal languages; the other character I currently have finished is a Force Enhancer- he can generate a large deal of physical force but because F=MxA^2 he is able to do so by either increasing his density (mass) or speed/Running (acceleration) or by increasing both in varying proportions, but always to the same overall level of force generated (A MP with Density Increase and Running slots that are both variable slots). The characters are built on 300-400 base with a resource pool and an 0 pt Normal Characteristic Maxima- if their power does not include stats that are over NCM and bought as powers then they are paying double over the NCM. What I need are powers ideas or even builds that will fall within these guidelines. Since most offensive capabilities will be via MA or weapons through resource pool, the damage cap is not as much of an issue but I don't forsee a high-grade energy projector as being a proper fit for the team unless their power is interesting and can inspire some way for me to make them fit. so, any suggestions or builds would be appreaciated- thanks in advance.

  10. Re: Reason for creating team. There is an Idea that I have had kicking around for some time for a similar Vancouver campaign, although I have not lived there for a while now- some huge threat to the city appears, causing a being known only as Granville to approach each of the team members and ask for their assistance in stopping the menace. If they choose to stay together afterwards, that would be the true formation of the team. The reason that Granville seeks each of them out is because he is a city spirit given form, and while he is powerful within the city itself, his powers quickly fade outside of the city and he feels that he will need assistance to fight this threat. He could be used as a recurring contact and impetus for missions as well, as he is able to sense any threats to the city and its surronding areas.

  13. Re: Reason for creating team. Could you give us some idea of the characters that you have for the team- their abilities and brief orgins/power type? Might make it easier to create a suitable idea for how to bring them all together as a team.

  16. Re: One VPP Mimicking Another VPP...
  17. So, I guess this is a question- if you had one character with a larger (more points) and broader VPP (power mimicry vs molecular alteration powers) than another, would you find it ok to have the one simulate powers with their own VPP that is within the sfx and power limits of the other VPP without it having to be the exact same power the other VPP possessor is manifesting? To make this make more sense, let's put it into the context I'm thinking of: In the metahuman/superhuman school world I am designing there is a student named Versatile with a large Mimick VPP. One of his classmates is a girl able to change the molecular composition of objects with the code name Isotope. When he uses his VPP to mimick her power, he absorbs both her inherent molecular composition sensing ability (An analyze/discriminatory detect molecular comp. ability with no 1/2 phase and range) and her VPP (since he has enough VPP points to emulate both of her abilities seperately). Now, while mimicking her abilities, he wants to transform the air around someone into iron- an entangle, while she is using her ability to protect a group of bystanders by creating a wall of stone in front of them (barrier). Would you allow Versatile to use the molecular change ability to generate a different end power than Isotope, since it still follows under the SFX of the ability he is mimicking from her? Hope that was not too confusing...
  18. Why is this power now so much more expensive? In 5th edition it costed (20+5)*2= 50 active/2.75= 18 real points to have 2 Body per turn Regeneration with the Regrowth adder- that same power in 6th now costs 37 points. Why such a drastic change in price? The power is hardly worth 2 times more points, especially now that many other powers have gone down in their price. What was the rationale for making this one so much more expensive? I hope this has not already been beaten to death but could not find any threads on the topic using the search function on the boards. Thanks in advance.

  23. Re: Villain Group Okay, they would be escaping from Kent Institution, right (BC's only Maximum security prison and the current home of Robert Pickton)? They could decide that they need money to get away and after stealing a vehicle head to the Harrison Hot Springs- close by and a resort where they might be able to rob some rich folk. By some concentration of fate and convolution, they could end up getting knocked into the "Sulphur" spring, which has one of the highest ppm mineral counts and if there were some odd extra mineral in there at the time, or they get hit by lightning while in the spring, etc... don't know if this helps, just spitballing some ideas here...
  24. Re: Ideas for a "snake-themed" half villainess Detect Heat as mentioned above, for heat pits and Ramged, discriminatory, track and possibly targetting on her sense of smell- snakes can "taste" the air using their forked and sensitive tongues.
  25. Re: SHADOW WOLF: Just cant get him right (please help) Rabbit: +8m leaping, accurate, or maybe flight that requires he start and end round on a flat vertical surface extra dice hand attack for kick attack targeting on hearing danger sense, intuitional extended field of vision 270 degrees Safe:Intense cold 8m extra running + to perception rolls for hearing I think that's all... PS: Maybe extra Dex or Spd for this totwm would not be out of line...
