  1. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat

NT: Paula Abdul is the new President! How will things change?

The rest of the world will stop laughing up their sleeves at USA politics.

    And start laughing out loud.

NT: Other countries' presidents/premiers/prime-ministers/etc. that deserve laughing at, and why.

  2. Re: What would happen if Los Angeles County vanished?

I've been thinking about this again. Having looked the map Basil showed us again' date=' I've made the boundaries as the following: US 101/State 134, State 27, I 5/I 110, State 42. I know that they're not straight, but that does help define the area.[/quote']

IOW, starting from the Pacific Ocean at Topanga Beach, go north up California State Route (hereafter CSR) 27 (aka Topanga Blvd.) to US 101 (aka Ventura Freeway). Go east, continuing on CSR 134 (also the Ventura Freeway) to I-5 (aka Golden State Freeway). Take that southeasterly to CSR 110 and take that southwesterly (where it is aka Harbor Freeway; northwards it is aka Pasadena Freeway). Continue on CSR 110 to where it becomes I-110 (still aka Harbor Freeway) to CSR 42 (aka Manchester Ave.). Go west on CSR...

OK, at this point I can only guess. I guess you mean to head due west from the end of CSR 42.

Oh, and don't worry about them not being straight lines. I don't know anything that would require them to be such. ;)

  3. Re: Answers & Questions

A: In the matter at hand' date=' I'd say that ducks do not make good rocket fuel.[/quote']

Q: Let us cease these divagations, and follow the agenda. The current matter: our research into rocketry. Mr. Hopcroft?

A: The chickens didn't work out, either.

  4. Perhaps it's the Enig-Maw!

    Or perhaps it's natural. ;)

Whatever it is, it's beautiful.

Dr. Infamous wishes everyone to be reassured the Enig-Maw is not that big, and suggests speculation regarding the Enig-Maw's parent(s) is counterproductive.

  5. Re: Arsenic

Thanks. Is there other goodies in that book that would make it worthwhile to purchase?

Well, that depends firstly on whether you can find it. Being 4th Edition, it's out of print.

I recommend it if you can find it. It has lots of information useful for a Dark Champ.'s GM: Criminal Psychology, Advanced Forensics, Illegal Drugs, etc., etc. Mind you, it's copyright 1994, so somewhat out of date.

Frankly, I feel the stuff covered by it was short-changed in 5th Ed. Dark Champ. In fact, some the stuff in 4th Ed. Dark Champions was skimped on in 5th Ed.; stuff about the law and (super)heroes for instance. So I'd say get the 4th Ed. main Dark Champions book if you can find it.

  6. Re: Arsenic

I found write-ups for Arsenic in An Eye for an Eye, a 4th edition book in the Dark Champions line. Written (I sure this will surprise you:winkgrin:) by Steven S. Long.

I hope Mr. Long doesn't mind if I post them here. Yes, more than one: one for immediate effect, one for long-term effect. I've changed the formating a little, and spelled out the "common limitations" (there were ~20 poisons in AEFAE).

    Arsenic (Concentrated Dose)

3d6 RKA, NND (defense is appropriate Immunity, +2), (135 Active Points); OAF (fragile poison and possibly some means of projecting it, injecting it, or having it ingested, -1 1/4), No KB (-1/4), No Range (-1/2), 1 Charge (-2), Extra Time (up to a few days before onset, -3 1/2), Gradual Effect (up to 12 hours, -2 1/2), (12 Real Points )

    Arsenic (Long-Term Dose)

3d6 RKA, NND (defense is appropriate Immunity, +2) (135 Active Points); OAF (fragile poison and possibly some means of projecting it, injecting it, or having it ingested, -1 1/4), No KB (-1/4), No Range (-1/2), 1 Charge (-2), Gradual Effect (small doses given over the course of 1 month, -4) (15 Real Points)

plus 2d6 CON Drain, NND (defense is appropriate Immunity, +2), Recover 5 points per day (+1 1/4); OAF (fragile poison and possibly some means of projecting it, injecting it, or having it ingested, -1 1/4), 1 Charge (-2), Gradual Effect (small doses given over the course of 1 month, -4), Linked (-1/2); Total cost: 25 points

I think the second is what you're looking for.

    Hope that helped. :)

  7. Re: a [can]trippy question

The online OED's first citation is from 1719.

    The definition therefrom is:

A spell or charm of necromancy or witchcraft; a witch's trick or mischievous device. Also jocosely' date=' any playfully mischievous trick; any whimsically mad, eccentric, or extravagant piece of conduct; in phr. [i']to play one a cantrip.[/i]

I think I first ran into it in some fantasy story, probably 35 or more years ago.

  8. Re: Jokes

If they were Supersonic Telepathic Underwater Mechanical Penguins' date=' then you could call them S.T.U.M.P.s! :D[/quote']

Dr. Infamous tried that. But the laser eyes made the water flash into steam. Right in front of the penguins. KA-BOOM! No more s.t.m.p.w/l.e.'s

He's working on s.t.u.m.p. w/spear guns. But it's just not the same. :(

  9. Re: Answers & Questions

A: There must be an easier way to do that.

Q: I'm going to get from here to downtown using a stapler, 16 sheets of paper, 32 cm of string, an over-ripe peach, a broken CD-RW, and a small but fierce chipmunk.

A: No, not "Macgyver," "Mack the Giver"!

  10. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat

NT: Dick Cheney was in a wheelchair today' date=' apparently because he pulled a back muscle moving boxes in his new house. Boring! What is the real reason he had to be in a wheelchair?[/quote']

It's got a bad motivator unit in the left leg.

Er, "he's". Not "it's". You didn't hear me say "it's", you didn't think about robots, everything is fine; move along, citizen.

Dr. Infamous has no humanifrom robots. Only supersonic telepathic mechanical penguins. With laser eyes!
