The Lord of the Postman Always Rings Twice: A young drifter, Frodo Baggins, and Galadriel, the bored and unfullfilled Queen of Lorien, have a torrid love affair and plot to kill Galadriel's husband so they can run Lorien and live together.

  2. Re: Campaign Seed

1000 people is far too small a gene pool. Less than 100,000 is likely to inbreed to extinction.

Why go to another star? There's metric b**tloads of room within the Solar system.

  3. Re: Foxbatmite

That's one of the most flipped-out things I ever saw

Even Dr. Infamous is impressed. The Bacandforthtrian isn't. But he's like that, so pay him no mind.

Dr. Infamous and he Bacandforthtrian yadda yadda yadda.

  4. Re: Your PCs might be Underpowered if...

...if the team's worst fear is the Infamous Dr. Infamous's Bacandforthtrian.

Mind you, those supersonic telepathic mechanical penguins with laser eyes are pretty scary.

Dr. Infamous, the Bacandforthtrian, and all accompanying penguins are products of Basil's Twisted Imagination, Unk. All rides respectful.

(hmm. how big does one have to get before the rotational speed of the earth has one's head traveling at the speed of light?)

If rotating at 1 revolution per day (86,400 seconds), you'd need a radius of ~4.1224 * 10^12 meters, or about 27.556 AU.

I don't have my books with me, but if I remember correctly, that would be about 615 points of Growth.

As for Megascaled Growth...Eh, hell with it; I'm not working it out. :P :p

  6. Re: Answers & Questions

A: Boring thousands of people to tears in less than thirty seconds does NOT count as a superpower.

Q: I'm a CPA, a Ham radio operator, a model railroad builder, and I believe there's a giant conspiracy running the world. I'm as powerful as Superman!!

A: Give up, or I'll befuddle you into submission!

  7. Re: "I can't bring myself to kill, but..."

I agree with Sean; an Activation roll doesn't sound right, as missing it could frag a major role-playing moment.

The ones that I think might apply: Increased END, Extra Time (though only "Delayed Phase," "Extra Segment," or "Full Phase," IMO), Concentration: Unaware Of Nearby Events, Limited Power: Reduced OCV. The last reflects her subconscious interfering with her aim.

Didn't Smith create an alien that' date=' like a palindromedary, never had to turn around, ever?[/quote']

I don't know about "Doc" Smith, but Dr. Infamous is still working on the Bacandforthtrian. Though he may have to give up and settle for a llamall.

Dr. Infamous, the Bacandforthtrian, and the llamall are products of Basil's Twisted Imagination, Unincarcerated, all leftovers revered. "Doc" Smith isn't, and B.T.I. takes no responsibility for any use or abuse thereof.

A: No amount of skills and life training can make up for utter your lack of elementary mental capacity' date=' as is aptly demonstrated by the experiments of Pavlov and Jung.[/quote']

    Q: im gonna b a action/venshur hero!11!

  10. Re: DC-What if you had to draft a superpower registration act?

By the time some committee of legislators ask "outsiders" for opinions, the fix is in; the law will be whatever was decided in some back-room "horse trading" or by unelected bureaucrats who really run things.

I would refuse to have anything to do with the process; I refuse to help give it any veneer of legitimacy. Further, I refuse to be associated with any law to remove people's right.

What right does making you register take away?

    Red herring.

First' date=' the question was what right was taken away by registration,[/quote']

No, that isn't the question. That's the red herring you brought up.

The original poster is talking about an entirely different topic' date='[/quote']

And here you admit it's a red herring.

  11. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group...

Panther: :rolls: "Okay... is a 4 good?" (Panther's character has never played Champions before.

I think you mean "Panther's player." Unless you are all just characters being played by the real people who are roleplaying you roleplaying them. Of course, maybe you're roleplaying them roleplaying you roleplaying them. Or... No, that way recursive madness lies!

Tzalan (interrupting' date=' OOC): [/b']"What's the penalty for walking around with your foot literally wedged into another human being?"

 Arrest for public indecency?

  12. Here we see a photograph of the CSNISS* Pathmaker, the first space ship to use a pseudo-space drive. Unusually, this photo was taken in real space; it was a happy accident that an amateur astronomer snapped a pic just as the Pathfinder went by.

To be more accurate, this is a picture of the "referent"; that is, of the "reflection" into real space of a pseudo-space object. This accounts for its translucent and blurry appearance. The brightly glowing spot towards the right is the exhaust of the nuclear engines, which make up the diffuse area towards the center. Due to the perspective as well as the nature of a "referent," the multiple nuclear engines, and the fuel tanks for them, appear lopsided.

The living quarters, included the control room, etc., are to the left. In this picture, they have mostly faded from view; such is not unusual in "referents." All in all, though, this is a historic picture, of a historic space ship. After the loss of the Pathmaker, this, some publicity videos, and a few blueprints are the only remains of that glorious ship and its brave, doomed crew.

    *Co-ordinated Solar Nations' InterStellar Ship

Actually, it's a comet passing in front of the Pleiades; here's details. It was too gorgeous a picture not to share; as for relevance--well, it's a comet. BTW, I'm multi-posting this to the "Neat Pictures" thread.
