  1. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Digitalxero, the guy that is behind the new version, has kindly offered to re-write the turn tool so that it runs under version 1.7. I e-mailed him the py script file today. Once he returns it I would like to suggest that we give version 1.7 another whirl. It has some great features... and he reports that the local hostinf of maps and minis is now fully tested and functional. In addition it has enganced sound support, and enhanced tabbed whispering.

  4. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign BTW does Sam by chance have the Hotshot Pilot talent? It gives a +2 to Combat Pilot rolls and a +2 DCV bonus to the craft being flown.
  5. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Thanks for the roll Make sure you have the skill Weapon Familiarity (WF): Starship Weapons. It is a 2 point skill. Once you have the prerequisite WF, the Combat Skill Levels (CSLs) can add to the ships OCV roll to hit. TUV specifies that unless the weapon is fully aimed/controlled by the user (like a pintel mounted machine gun) we must use the ships OCV as a base to add CSLs too. To buy +1 with the Gemini's weapons would cost 3 points, to buy +1 with any/all ship's weapons cost 5 points (TUV pg 220). Hope this helps Bro

According to TUV pg 223, There is one broad 2 point category of WF: Starship Weapons, and 3 narrower 1 point sub categories of Starship Beam Weapons, Starship Guns, and Starship Missiles. I am assuming that Starship Guns means burst and projectile weapons like rail guns, or lasers the fire a pulse rather a steady beam, and Starship Beam Weapons covers steady beams likes sustained fire lasers and Star Trek style phasers. The missiles seems pretty self explnanatory.

  9. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign K... in light of tonights events... I WILL have the ship node ready by next Thursday (I can sleep when I am dead). I need a couple of things from everyone. 1) I need a write-up for our missiles. 2) I need the OCV and applicable Starship weapon CSLs at least for Sam, and TaRang would also be good. 3) I need Sams Base CV, Combat Piloting Roll, and applicable CSLs. 4) I Need Sams especially, but everyones System Operations roll levels. These things will help me to setup the Die Roller for the ship. Her weapon Hit rolls will vary depending on who is shooting, and Her DCV will vary depending on who is piloting. In addition the TUV says all space combat requires a sensor lock to shoot which is a System Operations roll, so this will vary depending on who is on sensors. I can put all of these rolls into one node and then give every one a copy so that we can simply point and click when ship combat starts. I will include a couple of notes nodes with a synopsis of the ship combat process, and a ship hit location chart.

Ah StarDrive... one of my favorites, where the distance you can "jump" during Starfall is directly proportionate to the amount of power your engines can generate, thus usually the larger the ship the further the jump capability. Though occasionally a small guy might surprise you...

  20. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign No offense taken... I actually prefer to have my own space also, rather than use someone elses. When ever you do that, you risk losing things suddenly if something should happen to the owner suddenly. I look forward to the changing campaign. Since it appears that we are headed towards a semi-quasi-star frontiers setting I have a question/suggestion. Is the current ship and equipment writeups good (I hope) or do we need to convert back to SF? The suggestion part... stick with what we have and at the least use the TE/STK/AW hardware, as they are pre-written and will save us bunches of time creating Hero write-ups of SF stuff.
  21. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Hmm... I can give you some space on my GoDaddy space, I have one linux account, and one Windows account. The linux account is setup for PHP while the Windows account is setup for ASP. I have the most space on the windows account (that is where I have the Corsairs Lair setup). In addition we can offer free e-mail accounts to everyone in the game. The URL would be something along the lines of http://www.gemini.corsairslair.com . Unless one of you knows how to forward the URL and mask the sub URL.

A blog would be cool for announcements/newscasts... but I like these boards and would prefer to keep this thread alive as it not only gives us a venue but allows our fellow heroes to read about our antics. So to avoid going back to a pure SF game setting... NEVER enter voidspace again I have this image of us trying to avoid going into voidspace and being chased around by this huge energy ribbon... Seriousy, I am sure I will enjoy whatever direction you want to take the game... Now don't you have a game to prep for tomorrow... back to work

Re: Manipulating light and matter That proves a couple of things Light can be further manipulated (for who knows what effects), and light/energy is a form of matter and as such can be handed appropriately. I read an article a few years agoo where a light pulse was somehow accelerated and "supposedly" (meaning I don't understand how) was measured to have actually regressed in time by an infitesimal fraction of a second.
