  3. Re: A website that sells pulp stuff, inspiring Heh... I can picture it: Hi I'm Steve Long and this is my other brother Steve Long, and this is my other brother Steve Long, and this is my other brother Steve Long, and this is my other brother Steve Long, and this is my other brother Steve Long, and this is my other brother Steve Long,
  4. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Here ya go... this is a compilation of my own work and stuff posted by both Nolgroth and Heroman. Open RPG Hero dice roller tutorial Note all actual syntax is typed in bold in this tutorial to make it easy to pick out. Skill Roller, example [3d6.sk(11,0)] Make a Skill roll. The first number of the two modifiers is the rating in the skill, 11 meaning 11 or less. The second number is any penalty or bonus you have for the roll. A positive number is a bonus, a negative number is a penalty. As with many Hero system rolls, the only die choice that makes sense is 3d6 To-hit roller, example [3d6.cv(5,1)] Make a to-hit roll. The first modifier is your Combat Value. The second number is any penalty or bonus you have for the roll. A bonus is positive, and a penalty is negative. Again, the only roll that is sensible is 3d6. The result of the roll is the the highest Defensive Combat Value that can be hit with that roll. Killing damage roller, example [(1d6+1d6/2).k(0)] [3d6.k(0)] returns 3d6 killing, including stun. It rolls the 1d6-1 stun, modified by 0. [3d6.k(1)] would be the same, but factors in a +1 stun multiplier. Normal damage roller, example [(5d6+1d6/2).n()] Make a damage roll for Normal damage. Results show body and stun totals. No modifiers exist. Only sensible for d6 values. Hit Location roller, example [3d6.hl()] Roll on the hit location chart. Results show the location hit (including left or right side) and multipliers to damage when hitting that location. No modifiers exist. Contributed by Heroman Hit locations rolls other than the standard 3d6 are supported for placed shots. So for example you could use the notation [(2d6+1).hl()] to get a location from 3 to 13, or you could use the notation [(1d1+5).hl()] to get an exact location of 6. Basic Killing damage roller, example [2d6.hk()] Rolls killing without a stun multiplier for ease of use with the Hit Location roller mentioned above. No modifiers exist. Contributed by Heroman Note that to add included dice modifiers like 3d6+1 or 5d6+1/2d6 you must surround base dice and the adder with parenthesis. Heroman added a dice adder for half dice on normal damage rolls only. The syntax is [5d6.nh()] To roll descending dice the syntax is [3d6.descending().n()] or [3d6.descending().hk()] Any number in any of the syntax examples above can be replaced with a ? wildcard. The roller will then prompt you for a number to fill in the missing value. This is useful if you want to set up permanent scripts. Nolgroth suggests setting the macros for function keys F5 through F8 as follows. In ORPG on the menu bar click the OpenRPG dropdown and select settings. In settings select the Macro tab. In the macro tab enter the following text in bold then click ok when done. F5 = [3d6.sk(?,?)] F6 = [3d6.cv(?,?)] F7 = [?d6.n()] [3d6.hl()] F8 = [?d6.hk()] [3d6.hl()] Dice roller help, [3d6.help()] to give a list of hero die commands (note: it is like a regular die roller, so will go across in chat unless you whisper it to yourself). In addition to the scripts setup in the macros you can enter dice scripts in the die roller node created by the Hero Designer to ORPG export template or included in the stand alone nodes we have created for manual character entry. To edit the dice roller expand the character node by clicking the little plus sign next to the character name. Inside you will find a tabber node named Dice. Right click the Dice tabber and select Design from the popup menu. Once in design mode you can either edit the dice scripts that are already there or add new ones. You can also use HTML tags in your dice scripts to dress them up and make them easier to read, for example… Stealth [3d6.sk(12,0)] Produces Stealth [3d6.sk(12,0)] -> [6,2,5] – 0 = (13) vs 12 or less failure by -1 You can also enter several dice rolls on the same line so for example in the Dice tabber if you add a scropt that reads… Punch: [3d6.cv(6,?)], Damage:[4d6.n()] Hit Location:[3d6.hl()] Which produces… Punch: [3d6.cv(6,0)] -> [1,3,4] = (8) with a CV of 6 and a modifier of 0 hits up to DCV 9, Damage: [4d6.n()] -> [5,6,1,3] = (4) Body and (15) Stun, Hit Location: [3d6.hl()] -> [4,5,2] = (11) Location: Chest, Stunx: x3, NStun: x1, Bodyx: x1 I hope this helps
  5. Re: Gemini Ascendant: Pulp Action! I am impressed. I'd also rep you if I could, but it keeps telling me I have to spread it around before I can rep you again. Sortr of like manure... Uh I mean fertilizer.
  6. Re: Gemini Ascendant: Pulp Action! And we survived.... And one of us hates spiders....
  7. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign K... Goodman and Casparelli are submitted to NOL... for equipment/revision approval.
  8. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Based on the background info I finished my equipment off with the M1903 rifle and the S&W M1917 revolver, and various expedition/hunting type stuff. For Casparelli I added some "professional tools" of the trade based on her entertainer experience and a some outback type stuff. When I submit back to you the characters in a few minutes the cost listed on the equipment tab is the equipment point cost instead of dollars that way I can use the equipment tab to track the Resource points.
  9. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Theres an equipment page? If you let me know what weapons you have I will send you the stats from PH. As for other information... It is 1924, Calvin Coolidge is President. It has been 6 years since the Great War (WW I) ended. Alvin York is a hero returned to Tennesee and farming. Prohibiton has been in effect (as a constitutional ammendment) since 1920. The great depression has not yet hit. Elliot Ness is in his Junior year in college and will not join the Bureau of Investigation (later renamed the FBI) until 1926. The Mafia wars are in full force over speak easys and moonshine. On April 27 1924 an American telescope reveals the planet Mars. In Germany the Nazi party is active in politics but has not yet taken power the Weimar Republic is in force, but due to the Rapalla treaty with the Soviet Union the German army is able to practice with weapons it is not supposed to have (per the treaty of Versaille). Hitler is the head of the Nazi party and leads the Beer Hall Putsch which ends with 13 dead Nazis and Hitler is tried for treason on Feb 24, 1924. The trial propels Hitler to national fame. He is incarcerated in a luxuriously appointed cell for 6 months and writes Mein Kampf. This sets the stage for his rise to power. Great Britain is considered the Empire where the sun never sets as it has colonies ranging from Africa and India to China. In case you can't tell... I like History
  10. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign I have PH, TUSK, and DC... A couple of questions... 1) What year, Approximately are we in? 2) Since you assigned Equipment Points can I assume that we are using the Equipment Resource Points system from DC, and if so can we use some of our 50 points in disadvantages (if needed) to increase our EP pool limit? I will help Jim and Terrie both get their already great characters tweaked... Ah'll see ya'll tonight getting into character.
  11. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Great characters... And Terrie was tickled pink by the twist in names. We will be there and looking forward to it.
  12. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign I also hope everything is OK for Nol. Thats OK life happens. So I guess we are on a Holiday Hiatus... See you all next game, and if we don't get a chance I hope everyone has a great Christmas!
  13. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Thats ok, I think I would forget my butt if it wasn't tied on sometimes. You were going to send me copies of the chat log, I lost all mine when my laptop self-destructed. See you tonight
  14. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign I'm glad you got it fixed... of course it could have been worse, it could have been MONKEYS!!!
  15. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Good luck with the cable modem problem Dale. The last time I had cable issues (months ago) they were able to reset my modem remotely and I have been golden ever since. Now if I can jst finish ironing out my other hardware issues (and get off my duff and build a linux box), life would be good...
  16. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Tomorrow on TNT is the sequel to The Librarian... definately pulp, also The Mummy, The Mummy Returns (both with Brandon Frasier), all of the Indy pictures, National Treasure has a pulpish feel but most pulp is set in the 1920s to 1940s time frame.
  17. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Terrie and I are up for it. So any hint as to what the pregen character types are going to be? And are you going to assign them or do we get to choose?
  18. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign Presto's playground justr activated, Jim, Terrie, and I are there

  21. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign I'm in the same boat as GA, I have been deeply ensconched in another business related project... but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel (I just hope it's not a train ). So December is my catch up month also.
  22. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign The site is looking god boss!
  23. Re: Gemini Ascendant Campaign At long last I have my new website up. There is still a lot to do before it is fairly complete, but it is a live WIP. The only section with content is the Hero Gaming section but the menus give you an idea of how the finished product will look. Let me know what you think. Here is the Corsair's Lair
