    Schmucks?

Re: Schmucks? And those two Master Villains can be opposed, just not by one team. It takes multiple teams to do the task, and there's nothing wrong with that.
  3. Re: What Do You Want To See?: DC: The Animated Series In all honesty what you are describing here is what I thought the Hudson City campaign setting was all about: A dark campaign environment for trained and low-powered supers. If that's not the case then I'll probably need to re-evaluate my interest in one or the other of the products. As far at the "lion's share" of the book being predominately villains write ups, again I thought that's what the purpose of Predators was. I guess I'm all confused.

    Schmucks?

Re: Schmucks? Your statement is too broad. UNITY can account for every Master Villain except Dr. Destroyer (who has made no appearances in 12 years), Takofane (who seems to only make one or two appearances a year, kills a bunch of people, and leaves), and Tyrannon (who isn't even aware of earth yet). Gravitar, Warlord, Menton, etc. are all beatable by UNITY, as I assume they would be by the Sentinels or Justice Squadron.

  6. Re: Newbie Seeks Character Creation Help I was just working under the idea that she'd want sidhe animals who were mystical, and thus better than their real counterparts.
  7. Re: Newbie Seeks Character Creation Help Where are you getting the 3's for each slot from?

Re: Schmucks? Oops, sorry then. My mistake. I think we agree then.
  9. Re: Build Champions Elite Superteam If you're going to build an elite time why not build the Justice Squadron? I did a search and Steve Long posted the following about the team: It appears that Steve Long has no interest in the team so why not just use them as the 750+ point elite team? That will at least add something to the CU still within some aspect of the continuity which can be used by some. Here's a link where we bounced some original ideas: http://www.herogames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22202&highlight=justice+squadron

    Schmucks?

Re: Schmucks? From what I can make of the CU charts there are about 100 superheroes in the US. When you consider the teams and individuals currently in the CU you're already looking at some 60-70 heroes accounted for from that 100. That only leaves about 30-40 for everything else. Edit to add: An estimated count from the Superheroes pdf shows about 110 heroes already working as individuals, teams, and for the government in the USA. Even if we assume another 50 I would doubt those heroes would all flock to teams. There is a great need for individual heroes scattered around the various 500,000+ populations cities in the US.
  11. Re: Non-"adventuring" Metahumans In our Legacy Universe game Alfred, from Batman, is actually a low-level healer and empath. That's how he's been able to help and nurture Batman all those years.
  12. Re: Newbie Seeks Character Creation Help Yes, with a multipower you can only do one thing at a time. She could turn into 1 of 8 different sidhe animals which you would pre-design. When in her normal druidess form she can change the weather and, since Change Enviroment lasts about 20 min after you stop using the power, on a next phase she could start using her lightning bolts. The cold or hot or stormy weather would stay around until she reactivated her powers to change it or it ran out in the 20 min time period. The version of Change Enviroment I wrote there was just very basic. I do not know what point caps your GM has set up. You might have more points to buy additional abilities for the power. That you need to discuss with your GM. The point cost for the power is 83. 65 for the multipower and 18 for the 3 slots.

  14. Re: Do you use the official Champions Universe? The campaign I'm currently writing for fun also involves Tunguska (don't they all?). In 1908 the meteor which hit Tunguska sent radioactive particles into the atmosphere. The particles were later super-charged when the Earth passed through the tail of Halley's Comet in 1910. This led to mutations in many of the births which took place thereafter.
  15. Re: Newbie Seeks Character Creation Help Multiform is a bit expensive. For your wife's character to have 8 different 250 point forms she is looking at a 65 points spent to change. She can have 4 forms for 60 points. We can put this into a Multipower. 65 Druid Magic: Multipower 6 Animal Forms: Multiform, 8 250 point creatures. 65 points. 6 Summon Lighting: 10d6 Energy Blast, 1/2 End 62 points. 6 Manipulate Weather: Change Environment 1", Multiple Combat Effects, +5 temperature, -5 temperature, Variable Special Effects: +1/2, Megascale 1 km: +1/4. 65 points. You can throw some limitations on the Multipower like Requires a Skill roll if that is how your GM wants to handle magic. I hope that helps some.
  16. Re: DEMON: Opinions (some spoilers) I think by "definitive" the poster was referring to expanded pages and information. Organization Book 2 devoted about 15 pages to DEMON. Classic Organizations had 19 pages. While that is information it hardly scratches the surface of the new 160 page DEMON book.
  17. Re: Do you use the official Champions Universe? We have our own Legacy Universe campaign based on an amalgam of the Marvel and DC universe. I do enjoy reading CU material because of the number of homage characters and ideas. I think my GM will steal some ideas from Hudson City as inspiration for Gotham City, where my character, Midknight, is from.

    Schmucks?

Re: Schmucks? As one of the NPC Hero Brigade I'd much rather see one or two mega-teams (Sentinels and Justice Squadron) for the entire CU than "one-two teams per megavillain." I think those two teams are enough to deal with the infrequent Master Villain appearances. I'd rather see all the teams at varying power levels. Some at 350, some at 450, some at 550, etc. I don't think the world needs more than one 750+ team in it, in my opinion.
  19. Re: Improved Absorption? If you don't like absorption you could just buy +10d6 additional damage with a -1 limitation: Only +2d6 per hit from an energy based attack. So after 5 hits you are now doing 10 extra dice of damage.

    Schmucks?

Re: Schmucks? Perhaps you didn't read the part where I said you don't take 350 point characters up against Dr. Destroyer? You let them fight the agents, robots, or a weakened Dr. Destroyer. Also keep in mind that the Dr. Destroyer example everyone is the maxi example. He is Thanos-like and in the 5E CU has not done much of anything in 2 years. Also remember that here are a dozen other superhero teams in the CU. Some of them are keeping other villains busy. It's not up to the PCs to stop every appearance of Takofane. In fact, most of the time a Takofane appearance should be something the players read about: Takofane appears in Denver and kills 30 miners in the Bella-Rella Gold Mine. This gives the PCs something to build on and gets a Master Villain appearance out of the way. I do agree that there should be more superhero write ups, and Darren Watts has said they might do a superhero book in 2006, but that doesn't mean the CU is under siege by villains because each GM controls what each Master Villain is doing. Maybe Takofane must now wait until Oct. 31, 2007, when Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are all aligned before enacting his plan. Perhaps Menton is having a secret war with the Nibu Gemani in the astral plane and wont' be back for 11 months. Mechanon might be engulfed in a "Mecha War" against one of his bodies who activated and went renegade. Each GM decides these things for himself. CKC tells you the villains are available. The GM decides when and how to use them.
