  1. Re: Champs Worldwide: Whaddya want?

I'd like to second most of these recommendations. Although I'm drawing the line at magical girls....

Why not!? You could create possible scenarios with them and they are NOT ALL DIMWITS AND SPACE CADETS!!!! Some can be future mystics in training[Like my PC DREAMSTAR ],given powers by an ancient deity,or passed through from mother to daughter.

Hey the possibilities are endless where Magic Girls,Sentai Teams and Armored Warriors are concerned in Asia. Besides some of them can be based on Fairytales and Myths[inu-Yasha and Momotauro are good examples],Manga or anime[AstroBoy,Cutie Honey, and Eight Man for androids,Magic Knights Rayearth for the magicgirls, and let's not forget Power Rangers in all their incarnations] or Movies{Star Wars, Star Blazers,Robotech and many others too numerous to name are best examples]

Remember that in Japan alone most people subscribe to the code of Bushido, but who knows? Maybe all of Asia may subscribe to some sort of code of honor for thier heroes. :coach:

  2. Re: Theme music

Just tried the link you provided in your post, and all it did was redirect me to

something called Netser.com... oh, well, at least it wasn't a porno website.

    Major Tom

Somewhat Peeved Websurfer of the Cosmos

I've changed it since then. it's now:

    http://soundamerica.com

    clickon and enjoy!

    There's also

    http://Http://www.toontracker.com

go to the Wav section and you'll find a lot of cartoon themes there including

    the old Filmation shows. :uranus:

  3. Re: Theme music

Not quite like you did. I tricked my players into a golden age time travel scenario. They went from the basment of a library today to the same basement 60 years ago. When they left there were some kids dancing to some music upstairs (I had the radio on). When the players went upstairs, not knowing they had travelled, I secretly hit the cd remote and put on big band music. The look on their faces was priceless.

If I could ever get ahold of it, I would like to use the old Hanna-Barbera stock background music they used in all their '60s adventure 'toons. I would play it during a fight/chase sequence and tell the players they have to be done with the rolling BEFORE the music ends, or the bad guys win.

Im curious as to how something like that would work out.

And some Hanna-Barbera stock sound effects would be cool too!

There's a Way you can get some themes and more if you have a MP3 Player.

Just go to http://soundamerica.com and download any of the wav. files that you select you might find some old HB tunes from thier shows to maybe current and old Nicktoons music.

BTW did a little rediting on the URL try iot again this time.

  6. Re: Superhero Images

Orange? Starblaze's skin isn't orange! Orange would be the color in my avatar. ;)

Actually, I sampled the colors for the pic right off of the reference pics that PhantomGM posted in this thread, so it ain't my fault.

    Mags

-she of the orange lava skin...

    Relax Mags,

I should've told you that SB's skin is Golden bronze

since her father is Afro American and her mom's a alien princess who appears to be Asian[Japanese].

How's this? Liberty, The American Girl:

    attachment.php?attachmentid=11311

Sorry if she looks a little 'made up', but I was trying to get her as close to the reference pic as possible.

If you like it, I can do more.

    Mags

I like it but could you put it in jpg or gif form?

I can't load it in to the photos section of my group. :stupid:

  8. Re: Superhero Images

A couple of you suggested that I post my Poser images with lighter backgrounds. Here they are.

First, Vindicator...original post for this thread is here. I had to reduce the resolution more than I'd have liked in order to post.

Editing: Just realized I posted the image as a .bmp...resolution is refreshed and a better image posted.

Looved it Mancer, can you do the same for my micros,at least convert them into full sized heroes pics? :)

  9. Re: The Incredibles -- WITH SPOILERS

This is your last warning. If you have not seen the movie, and don't want to read any spoilers, then leave this thread. If we ruin the movie for you, it is your own stinking fault. If you haven't seen it yet, your first priority should be to go to a theatre and watch it. Now.

    OK.

    I loved this movie.

Given the normal way such twists work out in the genre, I thought Mirage's change of heart was a refreshing switch, as was the fact that she didn't end up dead. Did anyone notice what her superpowers were? (Do you think she had any powers?) Given the way she comes and goes, it might be the ability to go unnoticed.

I was very happily surprised to see a hero actually take out the villain who threatened to come back and attack the hero's family again.

And this really wasn't the 4-color or Silver Age movie I kinda expected. Syndrome actually killed off a lot of superheroes. Agents died. Mr Incredible used lethal force to protect his family.

Did anyone else see Syndrome's cape and think "something's going to happen with the cape at the end", given Edna Mode's rant about capes? And unlike Dynagirl (I think that was the name given), who might have had the powers to survive a trip through a jet engine, Syndrome is very likely dead -- unless he activated a ZPE field around himself...

That's StratoGale and you might be right it's accidents like these that made Edna glad that she made the outfits without capes.

  10. Re: CHS& Generations On Hero Central [at Last!!]

Dude! Chill out were thinking about it. Could you give some more concrete info about this campaign?

CHAMPIONS:GENERATIONS is a campaign I concieved that is to be connected to the CHS campaign with the new CU as the foundation. It's inspiration is taken from the DC ELSEWORLDS GN miniseries "SUPERMAN/BATMAN:GENERATIONS", I intend to put in elements of Drama as well as adventure, comedy, and romance. The setting is Med City,NC but since I want it to be a shared Game world,it can be in any of the cities my co GMs can create If they join in the campaign as gms.

The rules can be used fro the both the BBB, the Champions Genre book and the CU souce book if you have the MILLENNIUM CITY ,VIBORA BAY,USPDB or the MYSTIC WORLD sourcebooks then by all means adjust the rules to make the campaign more interesting.

Ohh BTW --did I mention that the campaign is interconnected with Ultimate CHS? Don't be suprised if many of my pcs show up in the generations campaign a bit older that they are in the original campaign. For this campaign is set about four years after their graduation ceremonies.

You can also create your cast of NPCs along with those that you can use from any of the source books. If you want,I'll send the rules via email from my group.

    look for it in HEROCENTRAL.

CHS or rather Ultimate CHS is also in Hero Central It's my campaign redone in the "Ultimate Marvel" Style that's cosistant with the New CU without all of the backlog of history thatr you find in other campaigns.

  11. Re: CHS& Generations On Hero Central [at Last!!]

  13. Re: Superhero Images

I do not know what this means. DAZ is a rendering program' date=' right? Did you use it to create these?[/quote']

NO I downloaded from the cataolog as refs for your pics.

These are Popups from the catalog site.

  14. Re: Superhero Images

Hey all - I finally got enough time to colour up that Barbarian picture I showed you all earlier.

Check out My post below with the attachments. There's a Challenge for you to create a new hero out of these Poser Figures.

Good Luck, You'll need it! :sneaky:

  15. Re: Common Grounds & Sanctuary for the New CU

Gotta agree with Acro here :) Reminds me of the "Bar with No Name" ... all I need now is a white trenchcoat' date=' hat and skull mask ... oh and a tommy gun ;)[/quote']

OHH PUHLEASE and a half!

I am talking about a nuetral place where heroes and villians[specifically Teen and old /retired heroes and villians can relax and shoot the breeze without it being a all out fight. A place where paranromals can be themselves and be treated as normal people instead of instant celeberties having the press in thier face every 24/7. Even heroes with secret ids need a vacation from saving the world every now and then.

  16. Re: Superhero Images

I felt that I had to show some of my heroes in bulk. So here is Power Team!!!

From left to right: Quantum, American Victory III, Morgan "Freight Train" Freight, Blackstar, Mystrix, Guardian II, Hunter II, Bluestreak, Artemis, Ladyhawk, and Centurion.

These were done using the DCU templates from Kryptcom's site and done on Paint Shop Pro 8.

coool artwork Doc, Like to ask you a request if you don't mind.

Can you create a team pic for my campaign? I'll see if I can send you some refs tommorrow. :)

  17. Recently I've just purchased the six issue mini series from TOP COW prods called COMMON GROUNDS. It's about an franchise of coffee shops that cater to super heroes. the premise [shown below says it all:

"They dot the landscape like becons of sanctuary, each one an oasis of safety and a little slice of home. It's the place where everybody does know your name,'cause sometimes that's your arch-foe sitting at the end of the counter.

It's the place where heroes and villians can't have a senses shattering slugfest, but they can toss back a cup o' joe and a few crullers and shoot the breeze.

So check your weapons and attitude at the door and come on in.

    Welcome to Common Grounds.

    May we take your order?"

The min series reminded yours truly of Sanctuary in the 4th ed CU and is wondering if any of you Champs Gurus ever read this comic and got reminded of a certain neutral ground that we used in our campaigns .

Maybe by chance you could create your own 'Common Grounds" or Sanctuary- styled restaurant, coffe shop or maybe a community center for superheroes in your campaigns?

BTW the stories i've read in that book can get you thinking, or laughing out loud by your computer.
