I forgot to mention, when my wife and daughter and I watched a recent episode of The Flash on Comcast's On Demand, they showed their message that the fast-forward was disabled.  My daughter said, "Can we pause for a moment and appreciate the irony that we can't fast forward during an episode of The Flash?"

So, I use DC Universe Online, because I think it has a great, easy to use editor to make a character; I simply go thru the character creation, do everything I want, then I screen shot it from within the game (F9 - takes the HUD interface off too); then crop and I'm all set.  Then just abort the character.  I actually keep an open character slot on my account for just this reason.
 
So, for the first villain in my game, I decided I wanted my version of Ra's al Ghul; in that it's going to be a leader of a Mercenary unit, who will be a reoccurring villain, with a large number of minions who do his dirty work.  However, unlike Ra's al Ghul, this guy is Spartan themed, and he himself is a heavily alien cyber enhanced super villain; think Deathlok, combined with Deadpool/Deathstroke/Capt. America - then put a Spartan theme ontop of it.
 
He has a secret base, styled after the Agoge, and his minions are called Hoplites.

Anyway, the show's been moved to a later hour--it's at 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM Central, and so on as you head west.  So be sure to set your Tivos, DVRs, DVD-Rs, VCRs, wax cylinder recorders, or hire animation artists to draw up highly detailed flipbooks of the episode.
 
Or you could watch the broadcast as it airs, like people used to in the oldentime days.

We Can Be Heroes

We Can Be Heroes

To my mind, "strong" does not always translate to "can handle herself in a fight."  The Oracle from the Matrix movies could be seen as a strong character--she was certianly very important.  And I don't recall Battlestar Galactica's Laura Roslin ever swinging a fist or discharging a firearm--and she was as strong as Old Man Adama.
 
Then there is Anita Van Buren from Law & Order--excuse me, Detective Lieutenant Anita Van Buren. Definitely in charge of her squadroom, and when the other detectives got stuck during an investigation, she could always give them a oush in the right direction.  And while she could handle an unruly suspect--as evidenced by one episode where she was part of a stakeout--it wasn't like she had to do that every other episode to prove her strength.
 
Just some thoughts on the subject--take them as you will.

Actually most of that Misandrist stuff comes from a particularly nasty branch of 2nd wave Feminist Separatists, Now called TERF (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists). They are second wavers that see Misogyny in everything. The right wing has used that minor branch of Feminism to Tar all Feminists.
First Wave Feminists were all pretty darn welcoming of all women no matter what their history. Most Third Wavers are actually even more welcoming than the first wavers were.
 
Really the Majority of Feminists DO want to see true equality for all genders and Races.
 
There are plenty of people who wish that Media would present violence in a serious, tragic way that explores emotional and physical consequences. It intersects with Feminism because of the belief that American society's embracing the idea that violence is a good thing that has no consequence. When to the multitudes of victims of Domestic Abuse (male and female) that idea makes their life a living hell. Showing all sides of Violence and not just the big warhero who kills tons of people and doesn't have an concern in the world. As opposed to the soldiers of Vietnam, Desert Storm, Afganistan and Iraq who are coming home with real mental issues including PTSD and aren't getting enough care because we think that real heroes can do all of that stuff without consequence to their psyche.
