Re: Help on mechanics for 1st ever HERO session
I'll mention Exalted, since my heart of Exalted know no limit.
I think that pulling the stunt rules straight out of Exalted is perfectly viable, though for some fantasy campaigns some of the stunts that are possible in exalted might be a bit much. Leaping up and grabbing a vine, swinging around and hitting opponents is good, heck, maybe even "I yank on the vine so it pulls me up into the air, and come down on my foe like a comet, piercing him with my sword". Now then, would "As the volcano is erupting around us, I rush towards my opponent, nimbly leaping from of piece of ash to another..." as you can see. Honestly, I plan on using the stunt mechanics for Star Wars if I ever get the chance to use it, though only jedi will be able to do the really amazing stuff (ash jumping). You might want to fiddle with it, see if you want three levels of stunting as either +1s or +2s. I can't say, personally, as I haven't been able to actually PLAY any HERO yet, so I don't know how much of an impact bonuses have on rolls. Best of luck to ya!
