  2. Re: Generic DND Level and Class conversions Converted Warlock would be nice, though I am considdering just converting that one myself being that I am finally preparing for a D&D HERO game. Yes, I'll be attempting to do some write-ups after the first game. On the notes of this, I've been making general NPCs for the Silver Marches in the Forgotten Realms setting. Basically I converted them by KS's Template idea. The Elf Archer uses the Moon Elf Racial Template Combined with the Light Foot with Ranged Combat choices; the Dwarf Heavy Infantry is the Shield Dwarf with the Heavy Foot. The Orc Warrior is a Savage. Honestly with KS's site, the hardest part is Monster Conversion. Thus far I've only converted a Dretch, which was my test run on some ideas for how to handle certain things. Anyways, it takes a bit to convert something simple like a Dretch, but getting a bunch done soon would be a good idea too. My whole point, though, is that with HERO so far it doesn't seem like you NEED a level progression system, because that Dwarf Heavy Infantry is gonna last a while, and all a veteran needs is 2 or more CSL's and maybe deadly blow or a few more BODY. Oh, another thing that I've gone with for HERO Designer: don't bother fully statting out equipment. This being Heroic, it doesn't entirely matter. I just make a custom power, name it Longsword, and write the stats from the Equipment Guide/Fantasy HERO into the Notes field. This also helps those newbie players that have never played before and will get the living ship scared out of them with that mess of jargon (even though you can understand it perfectly). All that's left for me is to get everyone (including myself) used to combat. It will be a learning experience for all (especially considdering one of them has ONLY ever played D&D, but two of them at least have some experience with Tri-Stat).

Real Life occurred and my computer time was drastically cut down. I am of course very glad to see that this is done, though, so I shall rep you for finishing things up!

Just a reminder for the Notes, where the description should go, you can highlight the text and copy it in, and to keep it uncluttered uncheck Include In Printouts. This is just something I did because it appears that's what was done by Flames on his... and it really does look better. I'm still somewhat new to HD, and have hardly used prefabs. So just a piece of knowledge for others as noob as me.

More seriously though, I do hope they don't end up getting rid of it, I've found this most useful and would hate to lose it. What would be especially cool is if somehow we could get that list HERE on this site! Though I doubt it, so we'll just have to help get it all done in HD so so it can sit here as long as HD survives (not to mention making it easier to use... well, for those of us with HD...).

It's pretty much what I'm going to do if I can ever get a game going, only I'll be wholeheartedly using Killer Shrike's High Fantasy HERO for all that. Very very good stuff there, and you should check it out for ideas and such (or even use it wholecloth if your players really like DnD). Have fun, and good luck! ::Edit:: Ack! beaten to the punch!

I just discovered to my chagrin Costs END Only to Activate, but that didn't solve my problem of there being a limited ammount of time that is lasts, but this works quite well! To make it work do I Link the END Reserve (without a REC obviously) to the DoT, or do I get really creative and make the REC equal to the Reserve but put a limitation on the REC saying it can only Recover the once the reserve is empty? Still rather new to making up my own powers and such, so I'm still not entirely clear on Compound Powers and such.
  18. Ok, what I'm trying to figure out a way to do is your typical fire and forget damage over time. I can't seem to find a way to do it so that you cast the spell and only pay END to cast it, not maintain it. Lingering almost does it, but you have to pay END each time you use it (plus more attack rolls and whatnot). Continuous with No END almost does it, but then you wouldn't spend END to activate it... you can see my delema. Thanks for your input!

  22. Re: Naruto Hmm, actually might not be. I don't have ultimate speedster, but it sounds like the speed zone might be the appropriate trick for this pony. The only problem would be figuring out how to rationalize sasuke starting to catch Haku. Though remember that haku's ice abilities are a Bloodline Limit, and thus should be rare, and depending on the campaign, only owned by npc's, in which case fudging is acceptable. Probably shouldn't use it on the pc's though, they'll get pissed cause they can't do anything (unless one of them is a jinchuuriki ), thus maybe only ally npcs? In any case, um... ran out of gas, dunno what I was gonna say.
  23. Converted Ninjutsu and Genjutsu Well, here are all of the jutsu that I've done thus far. Have fun! Oops, well, apparently I'd only STARTED on the Genjutsu, so there's only 3 in there. Well, maybe I'll get to work on this again some day if there's interest.
  24. Re: Naruto It's hard to say. My Chakra Control and converting END to Chakra comes from the in-anime/manga explanation for how chakra works. Which basically is that you convert stamina into chakra, and how well you do it depends on how good you are at chakra control. The explanation goes on to examples of Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto, where sakura is the best at chakra control, so spends the least amount of Stamina to create her Bunshins, while Sasuke wastes a little bit, and naruto uses a ton of stamina and gets a half dead bunshin. later jiraiyasama talks to naruto about it, but tells him not to worry about his chakra control because he has soooooooooooooooo much stamina that he can waste as much as he needs for his effects without worry. Now for a side not, I'll get those jutsu up. Note that some things are going to be missing from the Ninjutsu. Notably rasengan and medical jutsu. The reasoning is that those are different from Ninjutsu, and thus will use Chakra Control for their RSR. Medical jutsu might be able to be argued for being included in Ninjutsu, but Rasengan is most certainly Chakra control. Body altering effects (water walking, tree walking, tsunade's ungodly strength) are also chakra control.
