  1. Re: The Brotherhood of Mutants (Con Game III) No vulnerabilty for the juggernaut vs mental powers? and the toad is as strong as spider-man? I know I'm not up on my X stuff, but that just seems off...
  2. Re: Gamma Girl pics I like it! She looks... real! I may be spoiled but I do like color. Thats like my only dislike of it. Any story behind the shoes? Did I mention that I like it!
  3. Re: Help with translating concept to creation. Was also toying around with the END reserve / recovery scheme. Took limited recovery on the END reserve. It seems to go down the same road you suggested, but cuts out the full phase activation (I think). From there I could link all of the rest of her powers to that reserve still maintaining the same feel (IMO). More comments and questions, please!
  4. Re: Help with translating concept to creation. Hence my line about the cliche playing a part in the original concept. I'm assuming that you mean for this to be applied to each power? Does that mean each time she engages a power she hasn't used previously in that combat, she has to spend that phase drawing in the necessary heat? An alternate suggestion. What if I took a disadvantage similar to the one you listed but made it necessary to power up previously with some heat source prior to engaging the powers? Is that doable? I'm trying to get the idea that she can draw in the heat and then use it to power anything. But it all depends on my understanding and your clarifications. Thanks much for your help, its greatly appreciated.
  5. Re: Help with translating concept to creation. I didn't read where MitchellS suggested stuff regarding the END reserve. I'm thinking you mean Dr. Anomaly's suggestions. If not, please point me to what I missed. Hmmm, two votes for too much effort....(Doh! make that three) I give my wife credit for the initial concept and name. She has been referred to by me on occasion (playfully) as a heat vampire. She is always colder than I am and when we get in bed, her extremities are usually ice like.
  6. Re: Help with translating concept to creation. Thank you, that is a valid point. One thing that I would point out is that from a game mechanics stand point, she would lose the ability to do funky things with the heat 'syphoning' ability. It may not be that bad of a thing, granted. I also had in mind that she could hold onto a charge for a bit, not necessarily have to draw some for each attack. You have given me food for thought.
  7. Re: Help with translating concept to creation. Heatseeker: Multipower, 60-point reserve (8m) Heat Drain: Transfer 4d6 (END to END reserve), Conditional Power Power does not work in Very Uncommon Circumstances (target must have a higher body temp; +0) (60 Active Points); Others Only (-1/2) (5m) Fire power: Suppress vs all fire/heat based effects 8d6 (40 Active Points); Others Only (-1/2), Limited Special Effect Very Common SFX (fire / heat; -1/4) (3m) Sun Bathing: Change Environment 1" radius, -6 Temperature Level Adjustment (20 Active Points); Conditional Power Power does not work in Common Circumstances (Only when temp higher than body temp; -1/2) (10) Hot Tub: Endurance Reserve (40 END, 15 REC) Reserve: (19 Active Points); Custom Modifier (can only be filled by heat seeker multipower; -1/2) REC: (15 Active Points); Linked (Heat Drain; -1/2), Personal REC (-1/2) (60) Heat Wave: Energy Blast 10d6, Affects Desolidified Any form of Desolidification (+1/2) (75 Active Points); Linked (Hot Tub; -1/4) (2) Hot Mamma: Life Support (Safe in Intense Heat) (10) Heat Scanner: Infrared Perception (Sight Group), Discriminatory (11) Flight 8" (16 Active Points); Linked (Hot Tub; -1/2) (17) Heat Shield: Armor (10 PD/10 ED) (30 Active Points); Costs Endurance (-1/2), Linked (Hot Tub; -1/4) Thats what I have worked out as far as the suggestions you gave, my good Doctor. please critique and suggest away. What I don't know is whether or not the multipower is too pricey. (please pardon me I'm a complete noob.) With the risk of being a munchkin, can I drop the transfer level (as its the main point hog next to the EB) and still get a good enough effect with the END reserve?
  8. I have what I like to think of as an original and novel idea. I also have next to no experience manipulating the great character creation process that is hero. It started with a name and then a small idea (doesn't it always?). I will call her Captian Heatseeker. My concept is based on a cliche and my wife. This as yet to be fully defined super hero has the ability/need to draw heat from other sources. Anything that is producing heat at a temperature above her body temp is fair game. She can't/won't get any benefit from trying it on anything colder. Sounds fine and all but then I ran into this hitch. I want her to be able to soak up this heat/fire and be able to channel and unleash it in combat situations. In other words, I want the heat she takes to be the fuel for her a chunk of her powers. I'd like it to be all of them but I want her to be able to fly and as I understand the multipower it only lets you use one power at a time. I tried messing with absorbtion and drain, but they didn't seem right. So then I went to transfer but I'm having difficulty tweaking it correctly. I'm wanting to add the limitations others only and the limited special effects (fire/heat) with the variable effect (to) all powers advantage. It's hooking things from there into a variable power pool or how to calculate the quantity of the transfer, seeing as how she doesn't actually transfer from abilities. Any of that make any sense? Helps, comments, suggestions are desired.
  9. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. According to his description above they do. The winged demon lady saw herslef on the cover of a comic book and read it and noted that it was much like the life she remembered.
  10. Re: Sex and the Single Superhuman Okay, now you're gonna have to explain that one to me.
  11. Re: Sex and the Single Superhuman
  12. Re: Superhero Images Rep for you sir! That is a great idea and a fun image. Lots of people would think of things like that, but few would actually go out and make the image. Excellent!
  13. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Mayhaps we drop the little and just call her Ms. Mayhem?
  14. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. That is a great background story. I just glad I'm not the only one who thought this...
  15. Re: Looking for info, CNM/CU be gentle! Thank you so much! Yeah it was that kind of stuff I was looking for.
  16. Re: Request for plot ideas for an Anarchist villain team. You could just have them go right after the courthouse or town hall. I'm sure any military organizations that are around would be prime targets as well. Something that the public thinks is safely off limits or pretty well locked up. If they think that the superheroes are part of the establishment, wouldn't they want to crush/target them in order shake the publics trust in them?
  17. Re: Looking for info, CNM/CU be gentle! Ah yes! I see now. Thank you for clearing that up. I misunderstood his meaning. With your perspective advice, I am now on the same page. So, how different are things? Any examples?
  18. Re: Looking for info, CNM/CU be gentle! Are you sure about this? I just opened my copy of C:NM and it has The Lodge on page 92 with Scions of Caine on 93... I see no mention of the 'replacement organizations' you list.
  19. So to the open wound we go again. Sorry to those of you for whom this creates pain. I love the setting implied by the Champions:New Milenium book. I bought it on a whim a while ago and now I'm looking for the real deal as it were. How congruent are the story lines/settings and what are the major differences? What I like about what little I have read so far is the continuity of the whole universe. The other major comic producers (IMO, YMMV) have a disjointed at best overall continuity. I like that the existance of supers has changed society significantly other than cowering in fear from the evil aligned ones. (Only the X books seem to approach this level of societal interaction. Again, IMO.)
  20. Re: Name My Supervillian! Count Doom? Baron Oblivion? Lord Oberon? (great story possibilities there) Overlord? czarkahn? (meh, I guess we can't have all good ones...) Rex Tyrranus? (or would that be the other wasy around?)
  21. Re: Foriegn Captain America's Mostly correct. Only error is in the indentifying pronoun. They speak portuguese in Brazil, not spanish like the rest of the continent. So, it should be A Carioca, drop the "L" otherwise its not really Brazilian. The meaning is correct however, discounting the latin language transposition, it does refer to a female native of Rio. qualifications: I lived in Brazil for two years and can still speak a good bit of portuguese even if I probably can't spell it correctly...
