At first I took this to mean Cancer was grouchy and impersonable. Then I realized it has something to do with making coffee out of beans that have passed through one's GI tract. Does that require a special kind of coffee maker?

One advantage of root beer is that it goes so well with ice cream. Do people put ice cream in beer? No. And well they should not, for the Force is my ally, and a powerful ally it is. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. It knows when sleeping you are, and also when awake you happen to be.

You may want to stay clear of adding me should a replacement be needed. I would probably through your data way off. I usually only get repped about once every couple weeks, but it is usually the big reppers that do it, so I make huge leaps when it happens. Although it might be an interesting paradyme...

I'll vote 'exhale' but only because there is no 'laugh out loud' option.

Actually I think he would have if given the chance. I once watched a documentary about the guy wherein his mother described how, in his early teens, he developed an obsession with a particular boardgame that was, in her words, "very complicated". Supposedly he only gave it up because he couldn't get anyone besides his mother to play, and there was no way she could beat him at it. From this I infer that he was probably a gamer born at the wrong time.

Busted out my Dyson DC-14 vacuum today. Impressive, but it ought to be for the price. Probably the best part is that you can tell the vacuum isn't fighting itself to work--the air follows an unobstructed (if convoluted) path through the machine. Even when you accidentally get a swiffer or something blocking the tube, the machine doesn't immediately kick into that high-pitched self-destruct shriek that other vacuums do.
Pros:
Very light and well balanced. Easy to maneuver.
Seems surprisingly sturdy in spite of the light weight.
Attachments are pretty good.
Very quiet for a vacuum cleaner. You still wouldn't want your wife running one of these during Galactica, but the motor whine is quite soft, and there is very little of that sharp hiss that you get at the business end of the hose.
Pretty simple to operate, once you figure out where all the buttons are--they are not immediately apparent, but it's not rocket science.
Emptying is actually kind of fun--you wind up pulling off pretty much the whole upright cylinder part; it's light, and it releases the crap directly into the trash can.
Cons:
Doesn't get under things very well. Floor/beater section is too tall for that. I assume the low-reach hose attachment, which comes with the red or purple versions of the DC-14, would solve that. But I bought the yellow one.
Quick-release wand extension would totally rock if I had a big house with high ceilngs and staircases. But I don't. I have a cramped apartment, and while the wand isn't totally crippling, it does make attachment use a bit unwieldy.
Costs over four hundred bucks... damn thing better last three decades at least.

Yeah, sorry about that. I thought they'd like it, the bastards. Oh well, they're young, bitter, and in many ways stupid but every once in a while they make me laugh.
I'm sorry for causing you any pain. I hope everybody knows I wouldn't do that intentionally.

I wish I had a grenade launcher. It would solve so many of my problems.
Transsexual prostitutes arguing on the street outside my apartment? Foomp-BOOM!
People dragging their wailing infant to a $20 movie? Foomp-BOOM!
State government? Foomp-BOOM!
Lady in the elevator with me wearing too much perfume? Foomp-BOOM!
People at the beach with dogs who aren't leashed, not bothering to clean up their dogs' poop? Foomp-BOOM!
Old lady with fifteen items in the express checkout line? Foomp-BOOM!
Hummer H2? Foomp-BOOM!
Microsoft software? Foomp-BOOM!

Re: Musings on Random Musings
I have seen actual footage of gangbanger gunfights and it's pretty clear why innocent bystanders are usually the victims--they flail their weapons around while firing and never even attempt to use the sights or otherwise aim. I'm thinking that if we gave firearms instruction to imprisoned gangstas, then as they were released the innocent death toll would drop and the gangsta death toll would increase, which would be something of an improvement.
