RPMiller got a reaction from AliceTheOwl in Longest Running Thread EVER
Re: Longest Running Thread EVER
You may want to stay clear of adding me should a replacement be needed. I would probably through your data way off. I usually only get repped about once every couple weeks, but it is usually the big reppers that do it, so I make huge leaps when it happens. Although it might be an interesting paradyme...

It's too bad the catsuit thread is no longer around otherwise I would have posted this link, to a completely worksafe picture site that others could visit and see if they could use it.

I would, except I don't have HeroDesigner.
Haven't had a chance to think about the issues you're having in order to suggest solutions. As time permits and inspiration strikes, I'll let you know if I have any ideas.

Ok, I now have the first version of the PDF export done, and have run into the next snag.
I need to figure out how to control tab stops as it seems the tab character just enters 3 blank spaces.
The second problem is I need to figure out how to tell it to start a second page, and control where the bottom margin is. Otherwise it is coming along fine.
Here is what I have so far if you want to take a look at it.

Re: Superhero Images
There are a lot of different skin tones for the Maori, so I went with a middle tone, hopefully it was what you were thinking of.
I'm not sure I got the beige and olive correct, but they are easy enough to tweak, and if you happen to have color samples post them and I can match them.
Hopefully this is close to what you were envisioning overall.

Ok, I have begun work on a PDF Export Template for HeroDesigner and I thought I would let all of you here be the first to know about it. It is currently working to a point. That point being that it is accepting the data from HD and producing a PDF. However, I'm running into some formatting issues with the PDF language itself. Let's just say it isn't very user friendly...
Once I have worked out the first few kinks, I'll be posting it most likely to the HD forum. I'm diving back in. Wish me luck.

RPMiller reacted to Storn in Storn's Art & Characters thread.
Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread.
This is for "Heroes & Legends". From About Time! Games. They are
currently in playtest and have a tenative release date set for late 2006.
You can check out their website at http://www.abouttimegames.com.
I thought it was a clever tackling of a universal RPG system, instead of the multi figure approach of other covers.

Re: Superhero Images
I bought a copy of the game "City Of Heroes" yesterday, not for the game (although I probably will play it for a while), but for the character creator. I had a pet project for a while to create an open source (free) character artwork designer in Java using SVG files, but by myself the project just never got anywhere. The character designer in City Of Heroes is the best character designer I have seen (I do not like the drawing created by HeroMachine). It's not perfect, of course: there are a lot of costume designs that it doesn't have. And it's expensive ($15 per month). Even so, $15 a month is cheaper than paying someone like Storn to draw characters for me.

You are correct, those types of problems are handled with the tape recoveries. Never had any grief from those with the exception of the amount of time it takes. The nice thing is that they are pretty much automatic once they are started. In my experiences anyway.
For the really bad problems, we have just rebuilt the server that was having the problems. Which happened to us back in July when we got hit with a rather malicious malware/virus. It was faster for us to just rebuild servers than trying to troubleshoot and 'fix' the problems. That was a fun week let me tell you.
