Nomad: Mercenary and bounty hunter, Nomad is less a hero than a profiteer, working for anyone willing to pay her hefty fees. Theif, spy, saboteur and "acquisition specialist" the one job she has so far stopped short of performing is murder for hire.Though she has killed in the course of her operations her goal is never murder and her actions seem planned to reduce the chance of deaths to minimum. As usual with such figures there are numerous conspiracy theories about her actual agenda and identity along with the source for the seemingly endless variety of weapons and cunning gear she employs with such impeccable skill.

Sky Marshal--Before Silver Avenger Virgil "The Verge" Jordan was recruited by PRIMUS, he was one of the best pilots in the US Air Force.  For that reason he was selected to field-test the ACAPS (Airborne Combatant Augmentation & Protection System) suit as a possible anti-supervillain weapon.  In his first outing with the suit he took on a squadron of VIPER Air Cavalry attempting to hijack an armored car convoy--and shot down all twelve of them.

While it was eventually deemed that the suit was too expensive for mass production, Jordan was allowed to keep the prototype ACAPS for as long as he was attached to PRIMUS.  As Sky Marshal, he adds a tremendous measure of power and experience to PRIMUS's air combat capabilities, and is hailed by other heroes as a valuable ally to the cause of justice.

Master Zheng was already a wise man and mundane Martial Artist Teacher when he aquired his ice powers. That Viper even captured him was pure coincidence: They were looking for a whole batch of "Guinea Pigs" when they flooded a local supermarket with Knockout gas and abducted everyone inside.
No mater how skilled, even a martial artist teacher can not overcome sleeping gas or the restraints on a experiementation table.

And thus he was experiemented on and developed his ice powers. Luckily the abduction was executed rather sloppily and thus he and the others were rescued by heroes. In the following months he noticed a certain "Synergy" between his martial arts expertise and his ice powers: He could channel his ice power using basic Ki/Chacra techniques and letting them flow out of his hands instead impact force. In essence he learned how to cause damage without exerting physical force on his adversaries. Having a supercooled nervous system, his reaction times also increase drastically.

Alas, he knew that his time to become a hero had long passed. Even with the increases he was simply to old "for the lifestyle of a hero". So instead he took to the one thing he had learned the very mundane way: Teaching.
His school now includes both conventional Martial Arts training - and asian wisdom. As well as training with superpowers - and asian wisdom.

He is the Ice Master, Master Zheng or the Kice-Artist for people that are looking from some training to become a hero - and of course some asian wisdom as side dish.

    Blue Streak

The FBI uses the Blue Streak to wage war on low level crime. Originally a police officer who was in the proverbial wrong place at the wrong time (a laboratory with lots of breakable flasks and beakers containing unstable chemicals and an experimental radioactive power supply) Mike Strackzinski was hospitalised in the aftermath of the routine raid. He then had to be rescued by a hero group from the clutches of Dr Dissector who was planning to vivisect him to witness the interaction of the chemicals on his metabolism. Mike took six months to recover from the initial attack and then he was discovered to have 'superpowers'. He was then trained by the hero group and others to fully utilise his new powers. As the local and national media  were aware of the policeman's predicament certain agencies were not able to get their hands on him and use him as an assassin or covert operative. The local hero team was also able to thwart his recruitment for this questionable line of work. But they did have good relations with the FBI and a little persuasion and he was moved into their sphere of activity. Mike can now react faster than a normal person and is capable of running at quite a speed. He also has martial arts training particularly takedowns, throws and disarms. The suit gives him some protection as he is not bulletproof.
The name comes from the Martin Lawrence film and his blue costume.

Althalicos--No one knows where this being comes from, or whether his power--which is quite considerable--is sorcerous or psionic in nature.  (Most observers tend towards psionic, as everyone who has attacked him to date have ended up writhing on the floor clutching their heads in agony.)  He will suddenly appear from out of nowhere in the most unlikely of places--the ocean floor, the White House situation room, the summit of Mt. Kilamanjaro, the middle of a raging forest fire, outside of the International Space Station, a packed stadium during a major sporting event--and will proceed about his business, seemingly oblivious to whatever is going on around him.  If anyone approaches him he will say (and will be understood no matter what the language of the speaker)--

"I am Althalicos.  Do not interfere."

If anyone does attempt to interfere--as previously stated, they end up writhing on the floor clutching their heads in agony.

While he offers no explanation as to his purpose or origin, and says nothing more beyond his introduction, those who have encountered him conclude he seems to be searching for something--although what he could be searching for is impossible to ascertain.  Those who are concerned about such things keep close track of his sightings, and count the moments until he appears again.

I'd suggest that, if the original poster of the picture hasn't made a judgement within 2-3 weeks of posting the picture, someone should post in the thread for the OP to make his/her call on who is the winner.  If no response within, say, 3 more days, then the posting with the most "Likes" should be declared the winner.

Mink: a superhero with a male and female form. Mink's origin is largely unknown. S/He appeared on the west coast scene a few years ago and has taken both the hero and the fashion world by storm, becoming one of the top metahuman models in the world. Aside from heroics, Mink tries to better the world through charity, backing many foundations and donating his/her time to beneficial works.

Whiz Kid: Hyper kinetic thief and prankster, Whiz Kid seems to dance back and fourth across the hero/villain line as quickly as he does everything else. And for the same reason: lulz. This poster boy for reckless irresponsible youth is up for almost anything to slake his thirst for thrills and amusement. He's not violent, however, and doesn't try to kill or greatly injure his opponents (or the authorities) instead using his speed, agility and wicked but childish sense of humor to escape, evade and harass them instead. His juvenile attitude is understandable as Whiz Kids is actually 11 yrs old. His hyped up metabolism has him the build and development of a boy several years older.  Whiz kid is a frequent friendly rival/partner of the young Speedster heroine Velocity. To be clear, she is NOT his girlfriend. She is his friend who is a girl.

Iron Maus: Armored political statement. Despite his comedic appearance, Iron Maus is quite serious in his war against corporate dominance and its stranglehold on many endeavors especially the creative fields. And his (Iron Maus is presumed male but no one has seen his true appearance). armor is no joke either and is easily a match for some of the most formidable high tech battlesuits available.

There was once a Viper nest especially interested in the mystical. However between all thier technology and magic, it lacked one important ability:
The ability to counter ghosts and similar intangible creatures.

However they learned of one mystical tool for it. The "Widderrollen". A german pagan artifact. Using it, one could turn humans into "Widdermenschen" (Ram-humans). Purple, ram-headed humanoids with incredible strenght, endurance and the ability to hurt even intangble beings with thier bare hands. However the history regarding them also mentioned that the original creators have lost control over thier creations. So they planned on enslaving the creations.

They hired an external expert to help retrieve the scrolls - Talisman. They did succeed in capturing the scrolls. But Talisman was clear about not being willing to help them further, the moment she realised what they had just aquired. For she did speak german.
The Widder or ram is a sing of strenght, endurance. Indeed the germanwort "wider" was derived from it. Wich featured in such words as "Widerstand"(Resistance), "Widerwillen" (unwilling) and of course "Widerholung" (repetition).

And so it came as Talisman had predicted: Thier great first "prototype" broke free. And went on a spree to dismantle the nest, in a atempt to turn human again.
He defeated the necromancers and thier "wall of bone and flesh".
He stromed the fortress of the technologists and took thier weapons to defeat thier dragon.
He even defeated the Graveyard Giant and did got his wish - partially.

The Widdermann is a purple skinned human. While he did reclaim his human head, the skin color change is permanent. And by now he sees it as a sign of his defiance - proud of it, rather then ashamed.
He also did retain the endurance, strenght and ability to "punch" intangible creatures.

    Note:
This story is largely based on the old Console game: Shadow of the Beast. Where you play the titular character, a goat-headed human.
The entirety of his adventures can be seen here:

It involved some very odd quest items including a magical "shockwave" punch, healing potions, a wrench, a bazooka and a jetpack.

Igor Maliski was a Soviet spy working in the scientific world, eager to steal any scientific wonders for mother Russia and covering it up by staged accidents. One day, while stealing two sample chemicals, a security guard caught him and forced him to break both of them. Igor was douced with both chemicals, which interacted with his unique body chemistry, changing him into a purple hulking brute with a poisonous touch. Naming himself Igor the Purple, he was one of the Soviet's key super agents, till to many failers forced him to leave Russia, and the fall of the Soviet Union ment that the few who supported him are long gone.

His current plan, to return Russia to communist control, throw the current leaders out (or kill them), and restart the cold war with the free world, using not nukes but with metapowered people.

Professor Klankenhiss's most stirling creation, the Bronze Gentleman. Powered by steam and stylised to have a mustache on the headpiece which has no purpose except to look impressive, the machine serves no useful purpose. The Bronze Gentleman is the bodyguard of the deranged professor and his third most prized creation. It is clumsy, bulletproof and capable of throwing cards around.

The Bronze Behemoth is often mistaken for a Power Armor or a Robot, but in truth it is way to bulky on the inside to house a human. But only a human.
The Behemoth is the Robot suit of a alien called "Brinz Bih'moth". His species is both unusually small and very in love with thier (and earths) steam age. So when they reached thier "sufficiently advanced technology" phase, they opted for a steampunk/clockwork theme on all thier tech.

Brinz is just a really ardent fan of earths Steam age so he went on a trip to visit a planet he considered "the center of steampunk". Needless to say he was a bit steamed about finding out that steampunk is not nearly as common as some broadcasts would have you believe. Also Brinz's ship got blown up when some supervillain tried to capture it. And now he is stuck here.

He opted to join the heroes in hopes of finding some way home. And also get even on the Villain that blew up his ship. It looked like a Steam Locomotive and everything! The absolute dream of the spacefaring steampunker.

This power suit is the Ultranaut. A mass produced steam and radioactive suit made by ARGENT, based on an extremely improved upon Juggernaut/Dreadnaut design. It greatly improved preformance without that annoying "give cancer to wearer" problem.
