  1. That’s one of those “pick & choose” type soundtracks. The movie itself has little to nothing to do with the quality of the songs in it.
  2. My list. 1) Leonard Nimoy 2) Stephen Wright 3) Bob Hope 4)Jay Leno 5) Harlan Ellison Fair Warning!!! This is a trick question. I’ll guess John Landis.
  3. The middle three you can meet at a Sci-Fi convention. And the last name is a little too specific a category to impress the masses. So I’ll say Carl Sagan, he passed a while ago so the chances are diminished.
  4. Thanks to Logan we seem to be doing separate lists for Broadway. We’re going to do a thread for Soundtracks next.
  5. Live albums and greatest hits are fine. I’ve got three live ones on my own list. Do you want to change your list?
  6. and “If I had a rocket launcher....some son of a bitch would die.” Great song...and it scares the crap outta people when you walk around work singing it under your breath.
  7. What character were you? Or were you one of the Players?
  8. And the voice of that A.I. was Harlan Ellison. He was a friend of JMS from way back in the Twilight Zone days.
  9. I’ll see those and raise you... 1) Pippin (O.C.) 2) Jesus Christ Superstar (O.C.) 3) Wicked (O.C.) 4) Company (Raul Esparza version) 5) Man of La Mancha (Brian Stokes Mitchell version)
  10. Very good, as you know a thrush in the hand is worth two in the bush.
  11. You of course know that Del Floria’s Tailor shop is a front for Section 31’s operations into the Gamma Quadrant. (is anybody else enough of a geek to recognize that reference?) (Or any of the many others up here.)
  12. Granted, some of the Fourth World/Eternals stuff could be pretty out there. But the costumes of the Fantastic Four & Challengers of the Unknown are classics. Clean and simple, copied by everyone. The era of the ‘60’s and ‘70s fashions and art were equally ugly and probably had a lot to do with all that I’m just getting in the habit of sticking up for Jack Kirby since he didn’t get the recognition he deserved from the MCU movies until recently.
  13. Don’t go dissin’ “King” Kirby ‘round here.
  14. I’ll play the Broadway game with you anytime, but I don’t think there’ll be a lot of other folks in the mix. I used to say that I was the only straight guy who watched the Tony’s every year.
  15. Chess is a great pick, although I prefer the Adam Pascal/Idena Menzel/Josh Groban version that shows on PBS from time to time. It’s on YouTube under “Checkers” so it won’t get pulled for copyright. I wondered if anybody was going to pick any Broadway cast albums.
  16. A Kind of Magic, otherwise known as the lost soundtrack for Highlander! Nice pull. A question though, how come Bat out of Hell II and not the original? Was it a particular song that made the difference? Not a challenge, just a topic for discussion like I hoped this would bring. No need to fight you, those are all great picks. It’s just that those types of soundtracks were going to be my next thread after we chewed this bone a while.
  17. I was inspired by the 3 songs thread so let’s do this. What are your five favorite albums/ Greatest of all Time? I’m going to put in one rule here and if there’s a dispute I will hear all sides and then make the ruling. There are a great many wonderful soundtrack albums out there. But we will not be allowing ones like The Big Chill, Almost Famous or Forrest Gump that pick and choose individual songs from many artists and many albums. These must be either from one performer/band or one performance from many bands ie; Live Aid or Woodstock. My picks in no order are Harry Chapin- Greatest Hits Live The Band - The Last Waltz The Beatles - Rubber Soul Fleetwood Mac - Rumors Bruce Springsteen - Live from the Hammersmith Odeon What have you got?

I can see your point although I may not always agree with it. But that’s in reference to PC’s, under a players control who refused to take a hint from the GM. What happened there was to an NPC under your control, and you have to admit in retrospect that if it killed the campaign it might not have been a good idea. BTW; “girl in a fridge” refers to an issue of Green Lantern where Kyle Rayner found the dead body of his girlfriend stuffed into his refrigerator by a serial killer. It has come to refer to graphic violence (often to women) meant only to shock the readers and done in in a way that puts it beyond the line of good taste especially in comics targeted at younger readers.

Shoot ‘em in the leg to keep them from getting away then chain ‘em to the table. That’ll learn ‘em.

You let that kill the campaign? Wow, you really stick to your guns. I would have either retconned the whole thing, “It was an evil hallucination, it never happened!” Or figured a way to bring him back, either as a friendly ghost (Casper!) or maybe as a guide sent from a higher plane of existence to help the players. Anything to keep the game going.
  21. At a certain point doesn’t that just turn into a giant Italian knish?........Not that that sounds like a bad thing actually.

“a friend”????? You have an interesting definition of that word.
  23. There is no “everyone else”. It’s a three person game and two of them for whatever reason don’t want to do anything and let Cygnia do all the work with no roleplay from either one of them. Even the GM is frustrated with their inaction. If the GM and the one useful player are both tired of dealing with this...then nobody’s paying them to keep these two yahoo’s occupied.
  24. Could someone with more tech savvy please put up from YouTube the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band’s rendition of “Ghost Chickens in the Sky” or The Theme Song for Super Chicken Thank you.
