  1. Re: Nothing can stop me now! "You fools! I will not be balked so easily!" This one seems to run a bit on the expensive side but may be worth it for a late game surprise. The 22 Stun assuming the villain has the Defenses to back it up can add a bit of a bit to characters that can/should already be a bit worse for wear. The End gained is enough to put most characters back into the fight but the fade rate was left unchanged so if the fight does go long the villain's second wind will slowly loose it's value. Also, to keep it from being to intimidating it's only a one time deal.

  4. Re: Nothing can stop me now! "With my Adaptation Field your powers are meaningless to me!" As a counterbalance to Hyper-Man's Force Field here is a Defense idea that only activates after the hero/heroes get in their first few good hits. Depending on the character this could easily force them to constantly switch tactics. Having an attack work well only once. This power becomes much more potent if the villain already knows what to expect. *ahem* "Why Firelad, I've been expecting you..." The limited on this power is priced based on the existing limitation Only Works Against coming in at half the value. The total cost was again set to 50 points just for some fun.
  5. Re: Nothing can stop me now! "Fools my Dartanium Shielding makes me immune to your pathetic weapons!" The build presented here runs a bit below the normal Defense Cap for the current campaign I'm running but coupled with even a basic Armor with 10 PD/ED this foe would seem almost impervious for the first few attacks. Not that it matters on the GM side but at 50 point it's a steal... Mwa, mwa, mwa hahaha (Sorry had to say it.)

  7. Re: Nothing can stop me now! One tactic I've used for a Regenerator styled villain is to give them some limited Speed: Only for Recoveries along with an actual Regeneration Power. They didn't have a huge Recovery stat but the added speed kept him from going down for a while and lead to a well timed attack that enjoyed the reduced DCV.
  8. Re: Nothing can stop me now! Nice. The Ablative effect adds a nice sense of wearing them down over time as well. This can make for some interesting visuals.

  10. Devastom The All Consuming: Behold foolish peasants I have obtained the Guaffmin'C Shard! Now there is not power in the world that can stop me! (Pew pew pew) One Turn Later GM: Okay, Devastom is knocked out and the Guaffmin'C Shard is shattered. Once again the day is saved by (Insert team name here). - - - Sound familiar? GM's tired of seeing your ultimate arch-villain being brought low in just twelve seconds flat? Does time seem to slow down as the beat down ensues? Ever try so hard to craft a master villain that can hold their own that by Segment 3 you're quitely changing that 15d6 to 5? Hero Boards has the cure! - - - This thread is for ideas that can be used to mitigate players and guide a battle with a master villain so that they don't just come off as invulnerable or out right cheesy. Post your thoughts, builds and concepts you've used to set the stage for a memorable battle. Everything's game from Powers and builds to the setting itself. Whatever tricks you've come up with let's see em!
  11. Re: Wait, he's on our side? "I can lay you out and fill your mouth with your mother's feces; or, we can talk." - Lucifer, The Prophecy There are times when you just can't say know. Of the different character's I play I think only one might be able to turn down that offer.

  13. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States I really like the Villain team concept but I think the Rogue's gallery for the USA 50 should be on the same scale as they are. Larger than life ambitions kind of thing and didn;t get that from the group.

  16. Re: One HELL of a poker game... Apollyon: An ex-cultist who sold his soul after being betrayed by his coven to escape death. Infused by the entity Abbadon, he tracks and monitors the arcane Having found himself prematurely in the place he has long hoped to avoid Apollyon would be more than intrigued by the game. Knowing full well he would only be a flickering nuance Apolyon would keep his distance while trying to learn all he could from the conversations. Who has influence where, what the entities conspire together on and more importantly points of disagreement. Assuming he could escape with this knowledge there would be a lot a research to do and leads to exploit.

  19. Re: You. Make. The Call. As obvious as no is to some people it's surprising more have not tryed to come up with ways to keep the spirit of the multipower while bringing it down to a reasonable size.
  20. Re: You. Make. The Call. So just looking at the numbers involved I thought I would play around with it some keeping the 215 total in mind. Variant 1: End Saver Final Cost: 196. In this build the Active Point limit drops from 150 to 120 to compensate for the Reduced End Advantage. Each of the powers running at their top end would Cost 6 End so although exhausting in the human range of Endurance not overwhelming. The upper end is still quite powerful and if the player is not running anything else it could become discouraging. At least if they are the turtling type and keep a PD/ED of 60 around most of the time. Variant 2: Mostly Ultra Slots Final Cost: 170. This build ups the total value of the Multipower but cuts down the cost of the embedded powers significantly by switching them to ultra slots. In this build the character can operate all three of the non-movement powers simultaneously or fewer with the addition of a variable Speed flight. The powers no longer have a cringe worthy upper end although the Player may be upset with how weak some of the lower end powers might appear. If that is the case it would be possible to add in three more ultra slots at double strength such as: Added Cost: 24. Revised Cost: 194. Although I would be leery of the Greater Personal TK Shield it's actual PD and ED are not blindingly high. Hopefully this should provide examples of what can be done with the Multipower and/or at least give an idea of what the in game power range or the original might lok like while trying to maintain multiple powers at once. Personally, I'm the set it and forget about it type and hate doing "in the field" power cost calculations. Hope this helps.

  22. Re: PA Hero:How long would plumbing work? I would argue that water and sewage could and would run as long as dramatically appropriate. In this Apocalypse of unknown origin source we do not know what happened to the other supporting factors. If the end of the world scenario permitted, there were enough survivors, one might even be able to tell a quite compelling story of people struggling to keep electricity and water running as long as possible. An up hill battle that was inevitably lost. This could take the shape of people trying to hide the extent of the damage or trying to recover from it. Personally, I think the idea of people trying to maintain a sense or normalcy in the face of insanity could make a cool kind of primer depending on setting and tone you want to convey.
