    I'm not sure I understand why someone would be okay with the idea that a lightning bolt and fire blast are just two possible SFX of Energy Blast' date=' but would strongly object to the idea of "I parry his sword with my sword" and "I step inside the reach of his sword" just being two possible SFX of Block...[/quote']I'm not against the 6e changes (this peeve of mine has been around for a while), but I'll give my point of view on this.

     

    In my inexpert opinion, "I step inside the reach of his sword" sounds more difficult than "I parry his sword with my sword". To call them both a "block" seems to say they are the same difficulty. Perhaps I'm being too much of a simulationist, or something.

    Block (and Missile Deflection) have bugged me for some time. This thread, and re-watching a certain Bleach episode, have clarified for me what my problem is. I'll start off with a faux-motivational poster:

    Now for what troubles me:

     

    1. I usually don't mind varying special effects, as long as the game effect remains the same. But, it does bug me when someone describes a 'non-contact block' as something only an expert martial artist should be able to do. Because, as the poster above says, anyone can block. Would you allow Joe Normal on the street to describe his block of a sword as 'I block the edge of the blade with my finger'?

     

    2. I particularly don't like the 'chin block', because mechanically it's a block, but visually it looks like invulnerability. This is what I think of as misleading special effects, where the special effects look like a totally different ability. Would you allow Joe Normal to describe his block of Grond's fist as a 'chin block'?

     

    I guess it boils down to wanting special effects to match the person using them. You may all use special effects appropriate to the various characters (e.g., only allow nigh-invulnerable people to 'chin block'), but it doesn't get brought up in the conversations very often.

If not, what would?[/quote']Considering how much the hoaxers could do with 40-year-old technology, how hard would it be to fake a pixelated picture like that today?

    There's some fairly story-critical content in the books' date=' that's not in the online strips, from what I've gathered.[/quote']If SteveZilla hadn't noticed that Redcloak had a brother, except from Internet gossip, I suspect it isn't story-critical information. :) Now, it's very interesting (and fun) information, and describes backgrounds and motivations, but you should be able to follow the story without it.

    Unfortunately, not me. Dramatically, he has to fail.

     

     

    Isn't that amulet that he got from Red Cloak the item in which Xykon's own soul is stored? If it is destroyed by O-Chul what happens to Xykon?
    Nothing immediately; he can remake it. If Xykon is destroyed while the amulet is destroyed, he'll be destroyed for good, though.

    What I'm wondering about is why doesn't V just Teleport to her Masters tower and let him (or her) know about the fraggin' dragon. Are we to believe that V never prepared any teleport spells in case s/he ever found Haley' date=' Belkar, or Roy?[/quote']V is a specialist wizard, and gave up the Conjuration school. So, no teleports for V.

    I've thought about it' date=' or similar, once or twice. The two big pains in the butt are going to be Naruto's Multi-Shadow Clone jutsu and the Sharingan (aka the Deus Ex Machingan). Emosuke really hit the superpower lottery ...[/quote']On Multi-Shadow Clones: Wouldn't Summon work well? I suppose you could use some sort of Duplication, but Summon seems to fit better to me. And x1024 copies is only 50 points. :)

     

    On the Sharingan: Step 1 - whatever you use in Champions to make someone who copies powers. Step 2 - Telepathy (based on CON?). Step 3 - Mental Illusions (based on CON?), maybe with linked STUN Drain or Ego Attack. [some of these Sasuke doesn't have (yet), in the English broadcast at least. I think.] What else am I forgetting?

    It's "roleplaying", like playing a role.

     

    Some people use the word "rollplaying" disparagingly for when one is using roleplaying rules, but is actually playing a war/strategy game (and not playing a personality).
