  1. Re: kind of fantasy Yeah, that's a great site as well. It's how I've been able to read some of the later books that were edited for US release. But I'm wondering has anyone converted Lone Wolf and Magnamund into HERO system terms yet? Ed
  2. Re: kind of fantasy I just found this thread. I was wondering had anyone actually worked on a Lone Wolf HERO? (Not Lone Wolf & Cub, but the Kai Lord from Magnamund.) For anyone who's interested in Lone Wolf, make sure you check out The Tower of the Sun, a large gathering of Lone Wolf fans. Ed
  3. Re: Go home, Superman! I've always thought that the best use of Batman in the JLA is as the information guy. He probably can't stand up to the uber-villains, but he's the one of the group who can help coordinate attacks, knows the villains main weaknesses, what tactics they are likey to use, and help the "super" heroes like Superman, GL, or Flash best use their abilties on the bad guy. That being said, I have to agree with others that think Batman is WAY overpowered in the comics. Even though he has the Kryptonite ring Superman gave him, if Superman really turned evil, wouldn't he go and fry Batman with his heat vision first? Ed ...at least that's what I'd do if I were an evil Superman.
  4. Re: Who are your favourite Superhero Artists? To throw in my two cents. 1. George Perez 2. Mike Grell 3. John Byrne (especially when he was inked by Terry Austin) 4. Alex Ross 5. Tom Grummet 6. Wally Wood 7. Steve Lightle 8. Alan Davis 9. Dave Gibbons 10. Jim Starlin (Back in the Warlock/Dreadstar days) And dozens more that aren't leaping to mind currently.
  5. Re: Favorite All Time Hero/Villian/Group This is the kind of topic that will bring an avowed lurker like me out of the shadows! Favorite Hero: It's tough to choose, but I think if I had to pick, I'd go with the Thing. Something about Benjamin J. Grimm has always interested me, even as a small child. I still love my old Marvel Two-in-One comics. A very close second would be Captain Marvel (of Shazam fame.) I still remember getting the 100 page specials and reading them over and over. I haven't read any of the "Trials of Shazam", so I have no idea what's going on with the character these days. Favorite Villain: For villain, I think I'd pick Dr. Doom. When written well, he's absolutely the best. Whenever I see Doom appear in a comic, I have this mental "Oh, crap" reaction. Favorite Hero Group: This is even harder. Obviously I'm a fan of the Fantastic Four. But I've actually always liked DC better than Marvel. In close running would be the original Legion of Super-Heroes before all the rebooting started. Another hero group I've always loved is the Justice Society. One of the things I remember looking forward to as a young comic reader was the annual JLA/JSA team-up stories. No matter if I was reading Justice League or not, I'd always get the issues where the Justice Society would appear. Yet another hero group that I'd have to consider as my favorite are the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents by the late, great Wally Wood.

    Pulparize It!

Re: Pulparize It! The Great Muppet Caper When two reporters (who happen to be identical twins) let the story of Lady Holladay's stolen jewels to slip under their noses, they travel to England with their wacky photographer to uncover who stole them and why. During their investigation, Lady Holladay's martial arts using female bodyguard is framed for the theft. The reporters believe she is innocent, and, with her help, they lay a trap for the real criminal when he plots to rob the rest of Lady Holldaday's jewel collection. Ed
  7. Re: What do you consider “Modern Paranormal”? When I think "Modern Paranormal", I think of the old Chill game. The paranormal was hidden from the general populace, but a few who had experienced it first hand banded together to fight it. They were also tasked with keeping the general public unaware that there was any "paranormal" activity at all. Ed
  8. Re: why the UNITED NATIONS? (for global super-agency) If I ran a Champions game (which would be based on my own world), I'd use the BESTEST UN super group of all.. The T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents!! Which kinda means I'd probably steal from UNTIL and dress the normal agents in red jackets. And I was just looking over my old T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents 4th ed. HERO write-ups last night... *sigh* Ed
  9. Re: Calling All Heroes! Hi! Is it a problem if they were previously published somewhere else? It wasn't in a commercially available product, but the character I'm thinking of did appear in an APAzine. Does that matter?? Ed
