  1. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER Just posting to see what my post count is. Oh, and to whine that I've been at work since 7:15 this morning. As of now, with my 1 hour lunch and 2 hour dinner breaks, I've been working for 12 hours. Again. And I'm not done. Again. Did I mention that I'm not salaried and am not getting paid for this? *sigh* Nightshade

  9. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I'd rather see more half-naked babes, myself, but hey, that's just me. Oh, and what I don't want to see is this almost to page 3. What's up with that? Nightshade
  10. Re: Creepy Pics. Good Lord! They have some of those in the Mall of America at Underwater Adventures and they are pretty big. I sort of thought that it was an optical illusion, but now I know better. Nightshade

  13. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER What's really sad is that was my exact comment back to him when he explained. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!! Nightshade
  14. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I once had a teacher who would use the word "uneven" for odd numbers because he hated the word "odd". Nightshade
  15. Re: what non-fiction books have you read? please rate it ...
  16. Re: what non-fiction books have you read? please rate it ... Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt The movie didn't do justice to how weird this story really is. From the writing, you would think that this is a work of fiction. It isn't. A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson This book is so funny, I really couldn't put it down. There is some political commentary, as well, which makes it way up there on the list. Nightshade
  17. Re: Longest Running Thread EVER I'm not! To quote Freddie Mercury: "Bring on the girls!" Nightshade
  18. Re: The cranky thread Just to attempt to get the thread back on track (It's what I do ). I just had my boss chew me out for not getting some drawings out. I look at him and say, "I can't get them out, I haven't gotten them from drafting, yet." His response: "You have to take responsibility for getting these out." "I can't. Drafting doesn't report to me. He's over a week late in getting these to me." "You can't just blame drafting for being late." "But, I am not the drafter. I turned around my part in less than 2 days. He has taken over two weeks. I checked on the drawings, and he hasn't started them, yet. What am I supposed to do?" "You're supposed to get your submittals out in a reasonable time." I hate relying on other people. Nightshade
  19. I'm pretty sure he means the method of calculating spell costs, which is to take the real cost and divide by three. This is actually something that was mentioned in Fantasy HERO to get more people to buy spells, or to make spells more accessable without power frameworks. Nightshade
  20. Religion on my world works a whole lot like the religions of Earth. You can't truly "prove" the existance of divinity. The beliefs of anyone is completely up to their faith. Gods don't walk the planet. Gods don't grant spells. Miracles are, well, miracles. That being said, religion plays a huge role in the world (just like it does here). There are theocracies, holy men, zealots bent on bringing their vision of the faith to the world, etc. But there are also athiests, agnostics, and people searching for their place in the world. What I am talking about here is adding a whole new religion, not a god to the existing pantheon. This religion would reject the entire pantheon even exists. Sounds like it could be fun. Nightshade
