  1. Funny freudian slip. “Elected officials have to do what’s popular, and sometimes not what’s right, and that’s a problem. That’s I think why people get nervous about Trump. He doesn’t do what’s popular or what’s right— or or I should should say he only does what’s right, I should say,” Habba said.

    The Meldverse

The Doom Foes consisted of: The Director: A paraplegic scientist who gained the power to attract and repel objects, allowing him to glide around on a hovering wheelchair and engage in combat. Negative X: A man who looks like a living X-Ray image of himself and can fly and shoot x-ray blasts. Aqua: A woman who can liquify and solidify her body, stretching her limbs and growing to giant size FMJ: A disembodied brain in a cyborg body built for him by Director. They were an effective team of superheroes until they broke up after the other members discovered that the Director had planned their exposure to the same energies that created the Freakish Four.

His brilliance dazzled all who beheld it
  5. VERSE 1: It’s my pleasure to welcome you To your new home in apartment two With one bedroom and a splendid view Just don’t forget when the rent is due We expect all residents to Abide by tenancy rules Keep quiet, keep clean, keep telling the truth Present evidence of any elements who Have better to do than to comply With our societal requirements Those who stay in line Might just survive until retirement Pay no mind as I enquire just Why the other night you went To the laundry room to hide An item in the dryer, friend? This block is state-provided And you’d be wise to be grateful Side with every regulation and you’ll find food on the table It’s not a state, provided You find decadence is wasteful It’s been perfect since the state decided What décor is tasteful As property manager my job is sorting the utilities Disposal of the garbage and the laundering facilities Why would I compile a full report on your activities? I’m just a standard landlord… Glory to the Ministry CHORUS: Lock the doors and close the curtains, hold your breath lest you should speak your sins But you can’t keep a secret from the building that you keep it in Befriend your fellow tenants, show a smile and keep it pleasant But know everyone’s a friend until you need to turn some people in I t’s the breathing on the phone hiding just beneath the tone It’s the things that shift when no one’s home Well, you may be on your own but you’ll never be alone Yes, we all live here, but it’s no one’s home VERSE 2: To get through the day, It behoves you to play by the rules and behave Do the state preapprove all the tunes that you play? When alone in a room, well to whom do you pray? Assume that your neighbours are moving away When the black van comes in the night And you’re numb to the sight Of another one fumbling for somewhere to hide As their wife just runs for their life ‘Fore the ones with the guns can arrive And they’re gone ‘fore the sun can arise To a government provided bunker for some realignment It’s just fine, you can trust it’s a wonderful time Just go about your business normally No one’s following, I’m not recording Your paranoia is awfully boring According to all of your friends that talk to me Most importantly please speak clear when you’re broadcasting Your honest thoughts on the law or economy My provided mics are tiny And I can’t transcribe properly Should you ever behold Me with my peepers pressed to a keyhole You can trust I’m just checking the tumblers for rust I’m a custodian not a Ministry mole Settle in for a night on the couch No questioning what that red light is about Now bleeping on your ceiling since the time you went out It’s just a little gaslighting, put aside any doubts You’re fine in your house so confide to your spouse any crimes carried out Any tiny amount of new ideas found just a mite out of bounds ‘ Cause I’m writing them down in a timestamped account What’s it matter, every night or two? If I sneak in, have a rifle through But depending what I find well you’ll Be faced with another kind of rifle too Privacy is the cry of the Defiant to compliancy But grease my palm and I might not see Those books they banned from the libraries What do you mean that that’s not yours? It appeared one night in your cabinet drawers? I have to report it, I regret But of course, I could forget Societal ideals are reliably pliable So the rise of a tyrant becomes entirely viable You’ll find that the spying is really quite justifiable Why are you crying when it’s your blind eye that’s liable? Handy landlord here to fix your ventilation whistling Too many questions and it’s not the air that needs conditioning That telephone’s not tampered with Of course it isn’t listening But were it, it prefers the words: ‘Glory to the Ministry’

  7. A wheel lift towtruck would have no real problem. It would damage the driver's side tires, but that's minor.
  8. Read the licensing agreement for Baldur's Gate 3 sometime.
  9. Give the objectification of the deadly sin of Pride to a species with a reputation for both figuratively and literally regarding themselves as above everything on Earth, leaving them so out of touch with what's going on that they always be relied upon to show after the nick of time to salvage a few people from the wreckage of the events they missed.

    Diamond Robot

Flesh burns a lot easier. Nah. Superheroes and villains are more about the concept of a thing than the thing itself. For example Spider-Man's powers are not actually those of a spider. They are just spider-themed even though they work totally differently. However Find Weakness should be really effective versus diamond armour because having breaking points is part of the the theme of diamonds.
  11. More or less. He actually had his own money transfer program named "X.com" but it was less successful than Paypal for obvious reasons if you've ever searched for "X" online. But he merged X.com with Confinity and tried to fulfill his ambition for X.com to become an everything app like WeChat. The result was a shareholder revolt that booted him out. Now he's trying to do the same thing with Twitter and X.com still sounds like a porn site.
  12. xvideos is a porn site. Elon Musk in his latest dumbass move has chosen to try to change twitter's name to "X".
  13. Six days later, the first worker died. Meanwhile in the "Just try that in a small town" department: Black man who says he was elected mayor of Alabama town alleges that White leaders are keeping him from position - CBS News Braxton was elected mayor by default, making him the first Black mayor of Newbern in the 165 years since the town was founded. Braxton was informed by county probate Judge Arthur Crawford that because no one had qualified or been elected to town council positions, he could appoint people to the positions, according to the lawsuit. This was in line with previous mayoral administrations, who also appointed council members. Braxton asked both Black and White residents to serve, but no White residents agreed to join his council, according to the lawsuit. Meanwhile, in August 2020, just weeks after his election, Stokes and his council members Gary Broussard, Jesse Donald Leverett, Voncille Brown Thomas and Willie Richard Tucker allegedly "met in secret to adopt a 'special' election ordinance." Notice of the meeting was not published, and the group set a special election for Oct. 6, 2020.
  14. Presidents can pardon participants in a criminal conspiracy with him for their involvement. But a direct quid pro quo offer of money for doing anything as president would not be protected. It's not likely that anything that direct happened, though. Trump is sly enough to avoid being that direct when asking people to do something illegal or offering to do something illegal.

  16. The Sami peoples of northern Scandinavia, Finland and a chunk of far north western Russia have an interesting design for their storage huts. To keep them out of the reach of bears or something, I guess. Apparently Baba Yaga is a Sami.
  17. Southern physician Samuel Cartwright believed he had found a rational explanation for this disturbing desire escape servitude. He dubbed this disease of the mind “drapetomania” (with Greek roots roughly translating to “runaway slave” and “crazy”) and reassured slaveowners that it was entirely curable by “whipping the devil” out of the slaves who suffered from it. Cartwright was convinced drapetomania was a psychological disorder because “the Creator’s will in regard to the negro [declares] him to be a submissive knee-bender;” in other words, black people were put on this earth to be slaves, and servitude was ingrained in their nature.
