  1. Re: The Classic Justice League starting members on 350 points One problem:There is no way in hell Wonder Woman (Str 55) should be stronger then Superman (Str 45) I'd tone the Amazon's strength down and put the missing points into PRE.
  2. Re: New Magnetic Power Actually, the character in question did one better and has SS:Anatomy. Science skill seems more appropriate the knowledge skill for this one.
  3. Re: New Magnetic Power So, what kind of penalties are we looking at to precisely target parts of the brain? And what're the chances of error? It might not matter if you accidentally do the wrong thing to a bad guy (except for the accidental brain stem targeting=Death, and most heroes try not to kill), but if you're using magnetics in a friendly way, it matters a whole lot.
  4. Re: New Magnetic Power It's the further refinements I'm looking into. As far as I can tell, targeting different parts of the brain produces different effects. If I targeted the brain stem...that's an RKA NND Does body (Because the brain stem controls heartbeat, breathing, etc...short THAT out...well, there's a reason executions by gun always point it at the bottom of the back of the head...because that's where the brain stem is. Target the cerebellum, and that's that dex/spd drain mentioned above...that controls balance, you see...
  5. Re: New Magnetic Power Well, the main difference this and what a psion does is, the psion reads and adjusts your thoughts. Magnetics adjusts the physical bio electric chemistry of the brain, which influences thoughts in an extremely indirect fashion. Still, it's a physical thing, My character does already have an AVLD (Power Defense) simulating what would happen if you just launched a straight magnetic attack at the bio electric nervous system.
  6. Re: Famous People Super Heros Sarah Michelle Gellar:Martial Artist (See, Buffy) David Boreanaz:Vampire (See, Angel)
  7. Re: Darth Vader vs. The Hulk Depends on how the Lightsaber is written up. If it's an NND does body, Hulk could have 100 triple hardened defense, and it would avail him nothing. He'd get sliced to bits just like Count Dooku.
  8. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transcranial_magnetic_stimulation I found this in the Wall Street Journal the other day, and I play a character with magnetic powers. The trick is...how would I write this up as a power? Edit:For reference, the character in question has an 85 point multipower.
  9. If a heroic character gets eaten by something big enough to swallow them whole, are there rules for what happens to the ingested character?
  10. Re: Jedi Dooku certainly has a Tactics Score of 18, at least, and a slew of maneuvers, but he's got a big gap to make up in terms of being 3 CVs behind Anakin and Obi-Wan, and 4 behind Yoda.
  11. Re: Jedi I've always thought these values gave Dooku a bum rap. He's a Form II Makashi style fencer. And he certainly did alright for himself in Ep II, and even in EP III, he dealt with Kenobi fast enough. It started Anakin and Obi-Wan vs. Dooku, and Obi-Wan got pwned quickly, leaving Anakin vs. Dooku in single combat.
  12. Re: If Earth was hit by a Meteor Bah. Everyone knows that if a Meteor is coming at Earth, you can do one of two things: Send Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck up in space shuttles to drill into it and drop a few nukes. (Armageddon Movie) Or B:Send in a flower girl in a pink dress to pray for Holy. And then have her die so the Lifestream can back up Holy. (Final Fantasy 7) Take your pick, really
  13. Re: Jedi So, what do we think their SPD might be? Half their CVs, or there abouts? Maybe adjust up or down in some cases?
  14. Re: Jedi http://surbrook.devermore.net/adaptationsmovie/starwars/darthvader.html That one? You've got impressive lists of characters, but the Final Fantasy ones need to be updated. Cloud isn't even 200 points. Incidentally, Nolgroth agreed with you...you had Vader at CV 11, and so did he. You just had him Dex 21/+4 skill levels.
  15. Re: Jedi Would these lists change anything, if you saw them? http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/powerful_jedi.html http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/powerful_sith.html http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/midi.html
  16. Re: Jedi Well, maybe I could at least get some estimates. What do you think the CVs of all these guys would be? Include the skill levels they'd probably have.
  17. Re: Jedi Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, but I'm not finding actual character writeups. Like: This is Mace windu's sheet. This is Yoda's sheet. This is Obi-Wan's sheet This is Luke's Sheet (ESB) This is Luke's sheet (ROTJ) This is Luke's Sheet (ABY 40) This is Darth Maul's sheet This is Count Dooku's sheet This is Darth Sidious's sheet The only ones I've found are Vader, Han, and Leia (ROTJ)

    Jedi

Yes, I'm sure there's been a thousand questions on this already, but I'll try not to waste too much of your time. If somebody could point me to a list where people already stated out most of the Star Was Characters, it'd be good enough for me. I figure it's been done enough times that I shouldn't have any trouble just getting a link.
  19. Suppose a character wants to have autofire 15 or so, and he wants those 15 hits to connect almost all of the time. This is slightly impossible, usually, considering you have to succeed on the attack roll by 2 per shot you want to hit with. And to get 15 shots to hit, you'd need to succeed by 30. Which is...entirely impractical. Is there an improved Autofire advantage he can buy? If there is, what should it cost? Or should he just take a metric ton of Penalty Skill Levels to negate the natural penalties of Autofire. Or is there some better way to represent somebody who hits that often and doesn't tend to miss. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about: Final Fantasy 7's Cloud Strife doing the original Omnislash. Final Fantasy 8's Squall Leonheart doing the Lionheart Limit. And so on. It's common to have attacks like that in that particular genre. And note the two examples above are melee instead of ranged, if it matters.
  20. If Telekinesis has the area advantage on it... Say, it's Area Telekinesis Str 20. Does that mean he can lift everything up in the area, so long as each individual item is less then 800 lbs? Or can he lift, in the area, items up to a total of 800 lbs? That is, he might left 2 400 lb objects, but couldn't lift 3, even if the 3rd was in the area of effect.
  21. If the strength from growth is calculated as 'no figured characteristics' why is this the case? You'd think strength obtained from growth would allow for the same sort of resilience to physical damage as strength bought normally (growth has a natural stun bonus of str bonus/+5, but it doesn't seem to have the PD bonus of str/5 one might expect it to have.) Is it just a balance thing?
  22. What happens to a character in this unusual state? Presumably, it'd occur by a character with a really high stun rating getting hit by a killing attack for which the stun multiplier was one or maybe 2. He probably can't fight with a big gaping hole in him, but he's still conscious? Can he use a cosmic variable power pool to heal himself before he kicks the bucket? What about a plain old healing power? Can he talk? Call for help? Use mental powers if he has any? Be contacted mentally? Does it also make a difference if he got in this state by heroic means? For example, the character jumps in front of the villain's orbital laser of doom being aimed at the helpless city, and takes the hit on his own body? Or Superman jumping in front of the Death Star's main gun to save the planet.
  23. Figured a horror film character belongs on this board...cause I can't think of where else to put him. Anyone ever written up horror character like Jason Voorhees? Curious as to how strong an undead brick from a horror movie is. And how much stronger he is for having many of the stronger Automaton powers.
  24. Let's say a character with TK wants to remove all the nails from a table, thus making the table fall apart without damaging the wood. Or, more potently, remove all the nails from a wooden ship, thus making sure it'll sink in short order. There may be a lot of nails, but they don't weigh nearly as much as the ship itself does. Can he do that if he just has, say, TK str 40? Or does he need to put some sort of AOE on it? Likewise, if the TK 40 character wants, say, to steal the guns from the 6 thugs attempting to shoot him or someone else. This is mostly a question about a character with a high str TK taking multiple small items away...things that don't begin to reach the limit of how much TK he has, but there are more then one of them.
  25. Re: Humans are "Special" Humans are special because they get +1 skill point per level and an extra bonus feat. ...Oh, wait, that's D&D...
