  1. Re: Santa Claus Adding secular houses adds another half to .75 billion people he delivers to.
  2. Has Santa been built? Consider he'd need the following: Enough duplication powers to make every Mall Santa really Santa. Detection skills, knowledge skills, telepathy, and so on (He knows when you are sleeping, he knows if you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good) Lastly, he has to deliver presents to 1/3 of all mankind (Roughly 2 billion people) in a 24 hour period. Basically, every Christian household can expect a visit, but not Jews, Hindus, or Muslims. He therefore has to be able to tell which families practice what religion. And in mixed religion households, he has to give presents/coal only to the right people. He needs a base for the North Pole factory (which must be able to make toys for 2 billion people, followers (For the toymaking elves) more followers (For the 9 reindeer), and a vehicle (the sleigh, which must be able to hold toys for 2 billion people...). Lastly, he need ridiculous speed reading and eidetic memory so he can remember what everyone wanted for Christmas. And most importantly, Santa is recession proof
  3. Re: Xena, Gabrielle, Joxer and Autolycus We actually find out Hercules does, in fact, have Life Support total. In one episode in the 'present', Kevin Sorbo really is Hercules, who runs around masquerading as Kevin Sorbo, meaning he's actually immortal.
  4. Re: Final Fantasy potions and items and Monsters Wow. That was serious necromancy. But I like Final Fantasy, so it's all good by me. Speaking of which. How would you stat First Tsurugi out? It's got 6 individual swords that can basically be combined into any combination of swords for different effects.
  5. Re: [Gestalt] Canon Proposal: US Election 2008 I dunno. I think it'd make an interesting project to stat all 44 presidents of the united states. Especially if you build them on 350 points, just like heroes. All presidents, for example, have high PRE scores (They wouldn't get elected otherwise)...but other stats vary widely. Some presidents (Theodore Roosevelt) might have a really big INT score. The sheer amount of stuff Teddy knew was amazing. Others (George W. Bush) might have a huge EGO score and mental def. Cause, ya know, he was always hellbent on staying the course, and nobody, come hell or high water, could make him change his direction. Some presidents (Generally, anyone who was a General) would have better physical stats then others due to military training. (George Washington, Ulysses S Grant, Eisenhower, and so on. Making powers for them really gets fun...
  6. Re: Old School: Enemies III Guassian? Sounds magnetic.
  7. Re: Needed: A witty quote From Moulin Rouge:A kiss on the hand is quite continental, but diamonds are a girl's best friend.
  8. Re: [Gestalt] Canon Proposal: US Election 2008 Somehow, I thought you were planning to stat Obama. Oh well. He's got a killer PRE score, whatever else you may say about him.
  9. Re: Designing Characters You realize that version of Superman can't do his usual trick of catching a Boeing 747, right? A Boeing 747 is 3.2 Kilotons. It weighs as much as a loaded freighter, by the way. It's STR 85 minimum to catch one of those. Lifting up an Aircraft Carrier? That's 100 kilotons. Str 110. Ya gotta remember exactly what Superman has been shown lifting before you put a STR total on him.
  10. Re: Xena, Gabrielle, Joxer and Autolycus In this universe, I would stat the gods. Hercules and Xena both show the ability to match the gods in even combat. It's like the gods are just your basic energy projectors with Life Support:All. They'd also have Regen (A lot, not vs. Hind's blood) And, of course, Hercules himself is a brick.
  11. Re: Sex and the Single Superhuman These characters are (or were) high school aged. Monolith:Originally emotionally detatched (in that B-movie wise old martial arts master who lives on a mountain way), he was in one brief relationship with the prettiest girl in school (Silk) who was also a superheroine, but that ended badly because of his detatchment. His second relationship (Mindscream) had sonic powers, and their love continued after they both graduated. They haven't been RPed since graduation, though. IMP:At 15 years old, he's a playa'. At 14, he was trying to be a playa', but he didn't quite have the chutzpah and finesse to get it right. The notches on his bedpost total 4 (though one was erased from existence) and he's making plays for possible 5th and 6th lovers. All of them but the first happened after he turned 15. (And he turned 15 in April). Note that all of his lovers are fellow superheroines. Knight Errant:17, too geeky to get a date. Already missed his last homecoming, and finds himself rather frightened of losing out his last chance at a prom. Of all my characters, the most likely to die a virgin...and not by HIS choice. He has a crush on a fellow geek (power armor wearing) but hasn't had a chance to even ask the woman out.
  12. Re: Single Green Superhero seeks.... (personels for your characters) That's only a problem for for bricks. My character isn't a brick. Anyways, to try to be unique, I'll do this by youtube videos. IMP: Me: w ww.y outube.c om/w atch?v=EWgRcH7meAU You: w ww.y outube.c om/w atch?v=oiCWKnUWG2c Us: w ww.y outube.c om/w atch?v=kiXWoWtLex4 Nuff said. (The web addresses were abbreviated to avoid people with bad connections.)
  13. Re: Unreal Darwin Awards An ALMOST Stupid Death. A hero goes to fight vampires alone. Hero does not have mental defense or martial escape. Nuff said. He rolled well on the breakout rolls and called for help before he could be killed, though.
  14. Re: New Magnetic Power Heh. Pretty cool. Thanks for all your help.
  15. Re: New Magnetic Power Bumping. I edited my last post a couple times.
  16. Re: (WWYCD) Superhero Assaination... President Luthor is worth stopping. President Bush is out of office in 2.5 months, and it's not worth it to kill him.
  17. Re: What is Your Favorite Item? Fun part is actually stating these monsters. And watching what certain villains do. Dr. Destroyer:Oh, crap, it's Shieldbreaker! I gotta take my armor off or I'm toast!
  18. Re: How do you become a Jedi Personally, I think Luke had the right of it in the EU. In the 6 movies, love proved itself stronger then both sides of the Force in Anakin. Love of wife turned him evil, love of son turned him good again. Luke would've learned a lesson from that, and thus decided to let Jedi benefit from the positive effects without making it a forbidden thing that could lead to the Dark Side.
  19. Re: Darth Vader vs. The Hulk Like I said, depends on the writeup. Of course, NND Does Body wouldn't bounce off walls, either. It'd slice through walls.
  20. Re: What is Your Favorite Item? I like the 12 Swords designed by Fred Saberhagen. Basically, these 12 weapons were absolutely invincible and indestructable unless they ran afoul of another Sword...and only one particular Sword at that. Shieldbreaker:The Sword of Force. Can destroy other Swords. Makes you absolutely invincible against armed attacks...weapons, magic, energy blasts, doesn't matter. But you're helpless if even a 4 year old comes to wrestle you. It makes you helpless against unarmed attacks. Doomgiver:The Sword of Justice. Second strongest Sword over all behind Shieldbreaker. The Sword of 'do unto others before they do unto you', it turned any power attempted to be used on the wielder back at the source. Doesn't matter if it was mind control, arrows, fists, swords, whatever. It all went back where it came from. Can even turn the powers of other Swords (except Shieldbreaker) back on their wielder. Woundhealer: Sword of Mercy. Heals anyone it's swung at. Cannot be destroyed by Shieldbreaker...if the two swords meet, Shieldbreaker is destroyed instead, as Woundhealer is not a weapon. Woundhealer can heal any wound eventually, though chopped off limbs take a while, it can even manage that. Mindsword: Sword of Glory. Fun weapon. AOE 50d6 Mindcontrol spreading over the radius of 100 yards. Set effect:Must worship wielder. Also has particularly hard to cure wounds when used as a physical weapon. Even magic has trouble fixing 'em. Soulcutter: Sword of Despair. Similar to Mindsword, above, but it's 60d6 Mindcontrol spreading over 100 yards, and the set effect is despair. The wielder is not immune. It's higher then the Mindsword because when both swords are drawn, Soulcutter wins. Coinspinner:Sword of Chance. 100d6 of Luck. That is not an exaggeration. Also makes one lucky in combat...if you suffer a wound in a battle, it's from an attack that would've cleaved you in half otherwise. Can also tell you directions if you ask it to find something. And you always win when you gamble. Wayfinder:Finds the way to anything. If other things are needed to obtain the goal, it leads you to those first. The Sword of Wisdom sticks its wielder with 3d6 unluck, though, as it 'adds unto their risk' Sightblinder:The Sword of Stealth. This weapon makes you appear as what somebody fears most or loves most. The sword mindscans somebody, then plays upon their deepest loves and fears. Also, it increases your own perception to see things you never could've seen on your own. Townsaver:The Sword of Fury. This weapon does nothing unless you're guarding a city. If you're guarding a city, it chops up absolutely everything. It has a DCV penalty on it, though, as it makes no effort to save its wielder. It does keep him alive until the battle ends, though. But if you're at negative your body, you croak the minute people stop fighting. Farslayer:The Sword of Vengeance. Throw it at anyone. Absolutely anyone. Doesn't matter who. God, demon, human, whatever. They are dead. But...well, it's a one use item, and the friends and family of the guy you just killed now have access to it. Uh oh. Stonecutter:The Sword of Siege. Cuts stone. Any stone. Very easily. Named such for its ability to hack into castle walls. Also useful for sculpting stone. Dragonslicer:The Sword of Heroes. Kills Dragons dead. Very dead. Poor Dragons.
  21. Re: Halloween Themed Session...ideas? I always thought Halloween should include an encounter with classic villains. Dracula (of course...I've seen Dracula writeups get into the 1000 point plus range) Jason Vorhees (Undead brick with a big HKA machete and a fear of water) Freddy Krueger (Better hope your heroes have mental def...) Werewolf (Teeth, claws, Damage reduction 75%, not vs. silver) Frankenstein (Built as a construct)
  22. Re: New Magnetic Power Speaking of the VPP, do you think it'd be simpler, given the sheer scope and scale of magnetism, to convert my multipower (It's an 85 point multipower, but I've spent over 190 points on it as is...) into a Cosmic VPP for Magnetism, and spare myself the trouble of trying to have everything I want to do preapproved as is necessary for the multipower I currently have? It's currently an 18 slot big multipower, as a note. Oh, yes. A couple more facts. First, this character is 15 years old. He's not an adult yet, so take it into account in figuring out whether he should have the cosmic VPP or not. Also, if anybody can think of a good way to justify 'affects desolid' for magnetism, I'd appreciate it.
  23. Re: New Magnetic Power That's funny. Captain Paranoid was right for once! I'm not sure tin foil would get the job done, though. Certainly anything ferrous would, though. A Knight with a steel helmet's in good shape, for example. But a knight with a bronze helmet (Nonferrous) Might not be in such good shape. Or maybe it's the other way around, and nonferrous shields and ferrous doesn't shield. What do you think?
  24. Re: Heroes from All Fifty States California should've been the Governator. You've got the cyborg archetype (Terminator) and the fantasy hero archetype (Conan). What more do you want?
  25. Re: New Magnetic Power That's the trick isn't it? My character is Beta level (over 500 points), but Magneto is Omega (Well over 1000). There's a level of scale here...at least till I catch up to the big guy in sheer XP.
