Re: Genre-crossover nightmares
Doctor Who & the Secret of the Pyramids - where he discovers that they are merely grand tombs built for the vanity of the pharoah - & nothing more!
Re: Planets of SF Author Hats
Harrison's World: where the people have evolved into formidable warriors just to survive their planet's deadly native wildlife, which evolves to exterminate the colonists, and so on....
Re: URBAN FANTASY HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See?
How about Urban Fantasy in Fantasy Hero, where a secret cabal of scientists & technologists keep their secrets from the magic using majority
Re: Gothic Fantasy Hero
The island of St Kilda in the Scottish Hebrides might give some inspiration - abandoned in the 1930s it was one of the most isolated parts of the British Isles with a population of about 180 - 200.
Re: Gothic Fantasy Hero
There was an adventure in an old White Dwarf issue called "Terror at Trollmarsh" which had an isolated, gothic feel. If you can find a copy it could be of use.
Re: Links to one-shot adventures?
I'd recommend the Hero Plus Adventures (Curse of the Vulture God, etc), got them all really cheap as downloads from Drivethrurpg, & found them all good fun
Re: Real Locations that should be fantasy
Aye that's right - all one geologic formation. But it always seemed like it could be a Mythos creation. Perhaps the remains of some megaweapon from the Permian (or something like that)
Re: Ideas for combat runes
Warhammer Battle useed to have some ideas for weapon/armour runes - Rune of Cutting & Slashing was one. There were a couple of Rune of Death (Lesser/Minor/Greater) which would slay creature species
Re: Equipment in Post Apocolypse Hero
What is your setting like? If it was a Zombie Apocalypse or something similar whereby the characters are normal folk & the apocalypse is happening around them, i'd consider letting them have the contents of their own home to start with. Unless of course they are hardened survivalists with more arms than a small country:)
