  1. The original mini-series was designed to bring all of DC's characters onto a single Earth. This required the elimination of a number of characters (Supergirl, Flash, Huntress, Aquagirl, etc.) and revising the entire history of the DC Universe. They were going for a single continuity along the lines of what Marvel was known for back then. Of course, it failed. The new versions of classic characters like Green Arrow, Wildcat, Dr. Mid-Nite, and Johnny Thunder were not embraced by the readers, and some of the changes seemed unnecessary like Black Canary's track suit instead of her fishnets and leather jacket. In the 34 years since the Crisis DC has had to reboot it's universe more times then General Hospital has had actresses who played Carly, and the point was as hard to find as Heather Langekamp is Star Trek Into Darkness.* (Stop me before I sub-reference again). *I will continue to use this joke until I get a laugh.le The best case scenario here is that Supergirl ends up on the same Earth as The Flash. That's pretty much it. So far this Crisis has cost the Arrowverse Harrison Wells and Jesse Quick from Earth 2, oh and Earth 2 as well. And lets face it, a cosmic being who needs anyone to help him collect items and people and who plays coy with what's really going in is just a plot device. It has inspire me to create a villain who has high defenses and teleport but with no offensive powers, just a Persuasion roll of 18-. This is Cassandra saying Good Night, and I told you so.
  2. Well I didn't want to spoil it for you, but my magic 8 ball says yes.
  3. The big Arrowverse crossover this year is The Crisis on Infinite Earths, based on the 1985 DC Comics mini-series. Oliver Queen is doomed, because Arrow has been cancelled. The Flash will die, but somehow cheat death.* Will this be the greatest TV superhero show in history, or will we be disappointed? *Told you so. I'm conflicted. On the one hand it would be a good thing if they brought back the Multi-verse, but on the other hand Wil Wheaton was wiped out of existence. Don't pretend you weren't thinking it.
  4. Cassandra Cain was a fraud and a pretender. Barbara Gordon is Batgirl! It's okay she got the name Black Bat. I have no problem with new heroes, but giving the names to weak copies.
  5. I loved Christopher Lee singing the name of all the drinks. And the Mr. Midnight song was the best.
  6. I think the main problem is they need to recast for the next season with someone who comes off more heroic. I wonder if Tina Fey is available.
  7. Changing the system was too big an investment to make for long time players. Once you had The Dark Knight you're not going to get all excited by Batman v. Superman.
  8. By Dawn's Early Light (1990) The crew of a B-52 Bomber lead by Powers Booth and Rebecca De Mornay finds itself in the middle of World War Three when the Soviet Union launches a nuclear attack by accident. Meanwhile The President (Martin Landau) goes missing after his chopper crashes because of a nearby nuclear explosion, and the unstable Secretary of the Interior becomes President (Darren McGavin) and gets some bad advice from a fanatical Colonel (Rip Torn). Based on the book Trinity's Child by William Prochnau the movie follows the plot but is more streamlined and avoids the books leaden satire. One odd coincidence has the President in the book woken up after falling asleep while watching Martin Landau on Mission Impossible, which may had been a bit of stunt casting in having the actor play the President in the movie.
  9. Miracles (1986) starring Teri Garr and Tom Conti.
  10. It was also a radio show, and a number of 1930s movies. The best was The Case of the Lucky Legs (938) with Warren William.
  11. Dickie Roberts, Former Child Star (2003) David Spade stars as a former child star who pays a family to find out what it's like to have a normal childhood in order to get a huge movie roll. With cameos by actual former child stars, and a great song by many other child stars along with Marion Ross and Florence Henderson. The sad part is how many of those who were singing have passed away.

  13. Perry Mason (1957-1966) Raymond Burr plays the famous Lawyer in this Courtroom Drama and Mystery Show. We're introduced to a number of guest stars, one is murdered, and one ends up as Perry's client so they are naturally innocent. William Hopper plays Private Investigator Paul Drake, and Barbara Hale is Perry's capable secretary Della Street. William Talman plays DA Hamilton Burger during most the the series run, having been briefly fired in 1960 for a drug related offense but came back do to a letter writing campaign from the fans. Note: Neil Hamilton and Yvonne Craig played a father and daughter about on the show eight years before being together on Batman.
  14. Three Kinds of Heat (1987) An Interpol Agent (Robert Ginty), an NYPD Sergeant (Victoria Barrett), and a Hong Kong Police Captain (Shakti Chen) track a smuggling ring from New York to London and back again.
  15. And when McQueen shows up and tells Newman he didn't expect the Tower to burn, and that the Fire Department has no sure way of fighting a fire above the seventh floor.
  16. The writer had to come back from vacation to write 12 more lines for McQueen.
  17. The Towering Inferno (1974) Paul Newman is the Architect of the 135 Story 1600 foot tall Glass Tower in San Francisco. Unfortunately builder William Holden's son in law Richard Chamerlain used cheaper wiring and a fire starts. With Robert Wagner, Faye Dunaway, Fred Astaire, and Steve McQueen as the Fire Chief.
  18. So she knows the bad guy has a radio detonator and doesn't think to take a signal jammer, or even make sure the rail gun deactivator has batteries, and then then gets into a overly long fight with a corporate guy. Yikes!
  19. Clue (1985) This comedy classic has great cast and a mystery who's ending you can guess, at least one of them. The best movie based on a board game (it used to be the only one before Battleship).
  20. The Cheap Detective (1978) Peter Falk plays a Private Eye in Neil Simon's send up of The Maltese Falcon and Casablanca. The cast is great with John Houseman, Abe Vigoda, Madeline Kahn, Vic Tayback, Marsha Mason, and Ann-Margret.
  21. I hope you're happy. You ruined my life. Well, I don't think it would have turned out to have been much.
