  1. Re: 6e: Defense Misunderstanding Alright thanks. So 25/18r is good for a brick at that level?
  2. So I am making a character by the standard superheroic guidelines and on page 35 of the main rulebook, it says that the def of the average super hero is 20-25/12-18. Does that mean that the total defense is 20-25 with 12-18 as the resistant or is it actually 32-43, adding the two together. I think its the former. Which one is it?
  3. Re: Online VOIP game (Interest Check) Im in on any day that isn't Friday or Tuesday.
  4. Re: World of Avina (High Fantasy Campaign) It's been awhile but I have new stuff on the way. As an update, I changed the name of "Aliens and Abberations" to "Interdimensional and Incarnate". Prepare for more stuff in the coming weeks.
  5. Re: Humans Need Not Apply: Campaigns Without Humans heh wow that one sounds like a dozy. Especially having to play that character with such a large stigma on them. How'd he handle it?
  6. Re: Lovecraftian-style Magic Begs to ask... could she make a costume so tiny that even she can't keep it on? I hope the answer is yes...
  7. Re: Lovecraftian-style Magic Then again....
  8. Re: FANTASY HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See? Idk, i dont think anything can beat throwing badger in the core rules
  9. Re: FANTASY HERO -- What Do *You* Want To See? Sweet. I love spell books wat?
  10. Reading through the other threads about non Tolken races or only humans in a setting got me wondering. Has anyone ever played, ran, or just read about settings in which there were no humans? I remember playing one such a campaign where humans were actually the oldest race (with dwarves and elves coming in later), but because of an unknown cataclysm, the humans vanished and became something in the creation myths of the new races. The humans had a legendary and holy feel to them amongst the races here. Anyone else have stories about such campaigns?

  12. Re: A Modern League of Extroardinary Gentlemen Admittedly I went with Solid Snake to have a video game character in and because Im fairly biased
  13. Re: A Modern League of Extroardinary Gentlemen A bit late coming into this but... I've read pretty much all of the League and am waiting for the newest ones to come out. Here is the list I've made after alot of thought and looking through this thread. Kept in line with the history of LoXG (invasion of the Martians, Fall of the 1984 Government, etc). I figured the original LoXG used famous characters in fictional novels, while the more recent ones (The Black Dossier) have used TV heroes such as Emma Peel. I figured with the modern age, new mediums can also be used for the League. The popularity of a medium during the era was important for this, so video games, movies, and anime were some things I looked into along with TV shows. Anyways, here is something I have come up with. -The Modern Day of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen The year is 2010. The world is recovering from the after effects of the short lived global climate shift event as well as the economic repercussions of Project Mayhem. A string of terrorist attacks and war have erupted across the globe. The United States is embroiled in a bitter war with the country of Qumar. Tensions in South Africa rise as hated alien refugees are taken to a new holding facility in Johannesburg. With the world reeling in violence, remnants of Project Mayhem have entered the world stage and has declared war against the superpowers of the world. With alien technology, gene therapy, and nuclear capabilities, the group is poised to plunge the world into eternal war. Now, the US, Russia, and the EU have convened in secret to reform the League. Here are the members: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: 2010 First we need a leader type hero. Someone who has seen it all in his/her life and knows their way around adventure, violence, and saving lives. Probably reluctant to help but his/her sense of duty forces them to help save the world. Preferably unpowered, but has alot of skills with combat and out of combat skills. My vote: David aka Solid Snake Has great skills in martial arts, weapons, and is quick on his feet. He is a bit disgruntled at working for the government, but will do what it takes to stop terrorists. With his trusty SOCOM and cardboard box, he will lead the team. Other Notables: Sam Fisher, Jack Bauer Next, we gotta have someone who is the thinker. They can analyze crime scenes and data in a pinch. Maybe knows alot about pretty much everything. My vote: Chuck Bartowski Incredibly smart, great analytic abilities, and can hold his own in a fight. Also has that nerdy charm that everyone loves. Other Notables: Gil Grissom. Adrian Monk Next, you need the big brawler. Someone who can take hits and kick ass. The original team had Mr. Hyde. This team will need some muscle. My vote: Brock Samson Brock Samson is a big, cold-blooded killer with a heart of gold. He is the bodyguard of the Ventures and is capable of great feats of strength. I'd give my vote for him to be the big guy. Other Notables: Heavy Weapons Guy Now for the mystic. Someone who can use magic and knows alot about the magic world. I wonder who... My vote: Hermione Granger Now, I know that Harry Potter would be the more obvious choice, because of him being the "chosen one" type character. However, I find Hermione more studious and has more room to grow magically. She would know alot more about magic, and her personality would be interesting to see clash with the others. Im sure at this point she would be 20. Other Notables: Willow Finally, I think we are missing the scientist. Technology and gadgets are their thing. They are brilliant, if not eccentric, and often misunderstood. My vote: Washu Hakubi She is pretty close to a mad scientist, looking to surpass any problem with the power of science! She is also very knowledge, being older than time itself (depending on what series you've seen her in). Other Notables: Dexter (from Dexter's Lab) So lets see what you guys think.
  14. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? Shouldn't be too hard to convert her. Utlilty characters seem to transfer better than other types, such as bricks.
  15. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? You know what might help, phy, is if you just right up a bunch of powers that could possibly ever come up (like a Gate teleport or a fireball, etc.) so you'll be good to go. I've also got a calculator handy at all times so I can do some on-the-fly stuff. Also, Mystica looks pretty awesome. You using her?
  16. Re: SFX Question: What should, or shouldn't, an electicity based force field stop? If you make it a bit more of an electromagnetic force field (as opposed to an electric field), I could see it blocking both physical and energy damage, though it would block much more energy damage.
  17. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? I and Torch cannot do Tuesdays as well for we are in Cpt's Crucible game. Friday and Saturday is my "Get blind stinking drunk and watch bad movies/things on the internet" nights now. Any other evening is fine for me (EST). Also, Torch has odd sleeping hours. He goes to bed at like 6 am his time. He is more nocturnal than I am (by an hour ) My Skype is edward.ortiz1 I guess some more about me. I'm 23 and definitely old enough to buy hard liquor. Originally from Tbilisi, Georgia but moved to South Carolina in my high school years. You probably won't hear my accent as its been diluted from having a Puerto Rican dad from Brooklyn and an Israeli mom from London, as well as living in the south. I live in Florida now with a roommate, but its pretty quiet so you won't hear my music. I have a mic, webcam, Ventrillo for League of Legends, and Skype so I am good to go with it. I also have a character finished which I'll post soon. Think human volcano, like Magma from X-Men. I am a bit more of a combat junkie than the others, but I do like RP, riddles, and such.
  18. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? I think from us, the consensus was Saturdays, though Im fairly flexible for my weekdays (except Fridays)
  19. Re: Anyone running an online supers game? I am in EST and I believe my friend is in Mountain Time
  20. Me and two friends are looking for anyone running a supers game. We all have mics and Skype so we can actually do voice chat (I also have Ventrillo if that is better). I'm done with school so I'm looking for my gaming fix. I think we all have our characters done from a previous game but the GM had to cancel before it could even start. Looking for 6th Ed game with Standard Superheroic levels. Also, my 300th post! This is Sparta!
  21. Re: Any voip/skype super games? at all? a bump, with my character soon to follow
  22. Re: Beating Dr. Destroyer...how do (or did) you do it? Like this? Od "If your palm is bigger than your face..." raude
  23. Re: Any voip/skype super games? at all? So another question/bump Will this be in Standard Superheroic (pg 35 of 6th Ed Book 1)?
  24. Re: Any voip/skype super games? at all? If you ever need assistance, I've pretty much memorized 6th Ed and can give you various page numbers for rules and such from the main two source books as well as the Advanced Player's Guide. I also have a nifty 6th Ed Character sheet I can give people that does most of the calculations (minus powers and skills) for people. Hope this helps. Od "Of course I have a life! I got the green mushroom!" raude
  25. Re: Any voip/skype super games? at all? Also, to the GM, will this be 6th Ed? I pretty much have everything from that and am prepared to the teeth for a 6th Ed game
