  1. Re: A PRIMUS-Sanctioned Superhero Team Idea I've been saving the best for last. The campaign city is Millennium City and the team is a revamped version of The Champions. Guardian replaces Defender. Warder replaces Witchcraft. Midnight replaces Sunshine. Donna replaces Wendy Beth and Christine replace Denise. Warder's fastness replaces Homestead. Comments, please.
  2. Re: A PRIMUS-Sanctioned Superhero Team Idea The list from the previous post now continues. Donna West is the team's housekeeper. Mariko Nakamura, R.N., is the team's nurse. She was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan and went to college in Tokyo, where she received her nursing degree. Since nurses in Japan still wear uniforms and caps, she prefers wearing them to scrubs. Midnight, Warder's familiar, is a black cat. Nancy Thompson, an African-American woman with braided, black hair that caresses her shoulders is the team's secretary. Silver Avenger Terry Kestler works out of the campaign city's PRIMUS office. Two quick notes. 1) In the campaign, women now wear gloves with everything from evening gowns to jeans and tee shirts. 2) According to NPR, one Atlanta hospital is now requiring its nurses to wear all white uniforms. You can read more about it by going to http://www.npr.org, typing nurses uniforms in the box on the right, then clicking on "Old Nurses Uniforms are New Again".
  3. Re: A PRIMUS-Sanctioned Superhero Team Idea Here, we begin the list of support staff and agency liaisons. April Curtis, M.S. is the team's technical manager and Spirit Cat's secret identity. The redheaded daughter of a wealthy campaign city family, her family enroled her in gymnastics school at age three. While in school, she began her studies in ninjitsu after going through a blood sisterhood ceremony with her teacher's daughter. In addition to be a former Olympic and college gymnast, she drives a Lamborghini Diablo in races sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America and paces races at various tracks. PRIMUS Intelligence Agent Beth Davies is one of two liaisons PRIMUS assigned to the team. For furthur information about her, please consult the PRIMUS Update in Digital Hero issue 6. PRIMUS Intelligence Agent Christine Hunter is the second of two liaison's PRIMUS assigned to the team. A blue-eyed blonde former CIA black-bag job expert and former college actress, she always wears gloves. (She started wearing them all the time while preparing to portray a fashionably-dressed woman in a play set in 1902 Boston. (Back then, women stayed gloved all the time.) More to come.
  4. These are the rules for this campaign. 1) Make the character using a base of 200-points and as many points in disadvantages and experience as you need. This lets you design your character the way you want to without worrying about point cost. 2) You can use up to 5 quirks (1-point disadvantages). 3) You can use knacks (from Digital Hero issue 23). 4) All team members have, through the team being sanctioned, federal police powers. Here are three members of the team. Guardian, a man in a blue and gold armored battlesuit, is good with tactics and the team leader. Warder, heiress Lisa Ward, is the team's mage and a socialite. A skilled practitioner of magic, she leads the team in mystical situations. The team is using her fastness as a base. Spirit Cat, a kunoichi, or female ninja, is a reservist and, unknown to the public, the team's technical manager.
  5. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU It just occurred to me that there might not be enough trained Slayers to have a team of three in every location that needs one. Therefore, only Elena will be the campaign city's Slayer. John Taylor is still her Watcher and the school librarian. Ann Taylor, R.N., is still the school nurse and the one that tends her injuries. Willow, her mother and the Amazons are still here, too.
  6. Re: HUDSON CITY: What Do *You* Want To See? Steve, I like what I see. No doubt I'll buy this bookwhen it comes out.
  7. Re: A Bat-ty Campaign Idea A few ideas have been running through my head. I'd like to get your opinion on them. Warder replaces Lady Arcane as the mage Batgirl knows. Silver Avenger Terry Kestler assigns Intelligence Agent Beth Davies to the team as liaison. Although she works out of her office and visiys Warder's house only once a week, she talks to them more often on the telephone. I'm making April the engineer/ninja and Mariko the nurse. Although her race car is an Eagle Talon, April's driven pace cars at tracks in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio and can handle anything from a 125 horsepower Toyota to a 750+ horsepower Lamborghini. Since Mariko was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan and attend college in Tokyo, she, like all Japanese nurses, is used to wearing a uniform and cap instead of scrubs. When she told her employer her preference, all Barbara said was, "Your decision, not mine." The gateway has been changed. Once you go through the door in the Batcave, you see a hall with two doors on each side and one at the end. The first door on the left leads to a one-story medical building with six offices. The one on the far right is a dental office. The first door on the right leads to a Japanese garden. The second door on the left leads to a two-story apartment building with 12-units. Four units and the garages are on the first floor. The other units make up the second floor. Items in the building indicate that all tennents were airline stewardesses employes by British Caledonian Airlines. The second door on the left leads to a high school and a crematorium. The door at the far end leads to Warder's house. The clothing from the bodies was removed before cremation and stored in one apartment, along with outerwear and stuff from the closets in the apartment building. The choir robes, however, are still on their rack in the school.
  8. Re: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!! in the CU I like your idea, Starlord. If you ignore the point limits, and in this campaign I am, Iron Man just needs a change of hunteds. The Maria Stark Foundation could easily sponsor the team and much of the medical and technical support staff could come from Tony Stark's companies. The team's two reservists could be a sorceress, whose fastness the team is using as its base and a female ninja with mystical abilities who just happens to also be the team's technical manager. The sorceress's housekeeper could replace Jarvis.
  9. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU All federal law enforcement agencies are aware that vampires and such exist and keep in touch with Slayer Central, where the new Watcher Council is located. Federal agents in various cities also keep in touch with their local Slayers do, as do certain officials in each police department and crime lab. Secret Service Agent Alex McGregor, who heads the Executive Protection Division, has no problem working with Slayers, or other superheroes, as long as they're either federal employees or federally-sanctioned and willing to do what she wants them to.
  10. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal Actually, I have no idea how to set a website up. Heck, I don't even know how to insert my replies between questions or comments from you folks. But then, I'm a 54-year old ex-AD&D DM who loves Champions.
  11. Re: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!! in the CU The DOSPA assigned Denise Dumont to the team as liaison. Christine Hunter is Homeland Security's liaison. Beth Davies is the PRIMUS liaison. Denise is a bureaucrat. She does, howevrer, carry a gun and knows how to use it. Beth is the same character Shelley presented in the Digital Hero issue 6 PRIMUS Update. Christine went to college to get a degree in acting. In one play, she was assigned to portray a fashionably-dressed woman in 1902 Boston. Knowing she'd have to wear gloves all the time while playing her character, Christine asked her mother, a fashion model turned hair stylist who owns her own salon, for help. After her mother taught her how to do everyday tasks with gloves on, Beth decided to stay gloved while preparing for the role. By the time the play was over, Beth discovered that she liked wearing gloves and decided to stay gloved at all times. After college, she was recruted by the CIA and became a field agent specializing in black-bag jobs. She later transferred to Homeland Security, where she was assigned to the Avengers as the agency's liaison.
  12. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU The last four teamn mates of the Slayers, more secrets and other playfulness. Cathy Thompsan and Gail West are the same age as the other high school students. Their mothers, Connie and Katie respectfully, are gym teachers at the high school. All four are expert archers and swordswomen. Their secret is this. All four are Amazons, decendants of the tribe once led by Gabrielle. In the ancient days, 200 Amazons stood against 2 Roman legions while their sisters fled into the outside world. The Amazons died, as did half the Romans. There is, of course, the "popular" group, which is led by a brain-dead fashion slave. The vampire hunters may tease them in school, but they'll hurt anyone who attacks the airheads, or anyone else.
  13. Re: A Look at my Version of the CU Actually, I'm using a version of the Knights of Pendragon in my campaign universe. Why? Simple. In my opinion, they're very cool.
  14. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal Before I forget, in my version, The Gathering is the Ragnarock (sp), the final battle between good and evil. The good side will include good Immortals and Slayers and be led by a group of men and women who are either the reincarnates or actual members of the greatest group of heroes ever, The Knights of the Order of the Table Round. The evil side will include evil Immortals, demons, and vampires. The Wolf, Ram, and Hart will lead them.
  15. Re: AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!! in the CU As the weeks passed, The Avengers began to take shape. Warder, a mage, who was about to build her fastness, agreed to join and offered the fastness itself as a headquarters. Guardian agreed, if he could help design the building. Warder had no problem with that. The Harmon Foundation agreed to sponsor the team. Harmon Industries electronics engineer Mariko Nakamura, a formner Olympic gymnast who raced cars for fun, came aboard as the team's technical manager. After accepting, she told Jim that she was also a ninja and would be willing to join the team as a reserve member. He agreed. Jim was then informed that the DOSPA, Department of Homeland Security and PRIMUS would all be sending liaisons. Of the three, the DOSPA liaison would be the team's official U.S. government liaison. The others would just be assisting.
  16. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal The Immortals aren't the player characters. They're just a type of metahuman that the PCs wolud've heard of once the Hunters exposed the secret worldwide.
  17. Wealthy playboy James Harmon woke up in a cold sweat. The dream had been a wild one. He had been standing before an alien presence that told him he'd been chosen to wear a special battlesuit of red and gold nanotech armor that he could summon by act of will, and he summoned it. As he shook himself awake, his live-in housekeepers, Catherine and Wendy Brooks, entered with breakfast. "Sit, ladies," Jim said. Once they did, he told them about the dream. "Maybe it wasn't a dream," Wendy said. "Yesterday afternoon, you told me about having some kind of metal ball pop in your face at the lake shore." "Interesting thought. I'll try and summon the armor." He did. Now, I'll try and vanish it again." He did that, too. "Now what? How can I use this to help people?" "You're a superhero," Wendy replied. "Right, Mother?" Catherine looked at her daughter, smiled, and replied, "Yes." "Give me a few minutes to get myself together, then we'll talk about it, over breakfast, in the kitchen." "Wery good, Sir," Catherine said. "I'll gather these things and we'll wait you there." They hammered out the basics. A new superhero team, the Avengers, would be formed to protect the world. The Harmon Foundation would fund it. Guardian, Jim's heroic identity, would be its first leader. Wendy would clean the house and be in charge of the support staff.
  18. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU The Pendragon Power is properly called The Champion Spirit of Pendragon. Three British heroes, the Knights of Pendragon, also carry this spirit. They are Francesca Lexley Grace, Joey Chapman and Kate McClellan. The power gives them, and Willow, heightened abilities, powers and senses. The Knights have mystical armored battlesuits that appear around them with a mental command and high-tech two-person vehicles that can travel on land or jump, through ley space, to other realities. Francesca Lexley Grace, who prefers to be addressed as Grace, carries the power of Aleta, the Queen of the Misty Isles and one of Arthur's three female knights. When in combat, she's always in armor. Joey Chapman, the current Union Jack, carries Sir Lancelot's power. He fights either in armor or his superhero costume. Kate McClellan, Astra TV's fearless and much loved reporter, carries Queen Guinevere's power. She prefers street clothes and has been receltly seen in the black leather jumpsuit, boots and gloves she bought before doing a five-part report on England's motorcycle culture. Her armor has a medieval look, It consists of scale mail covered by a black tabard and hooded cape. A shield and brown boots, sword belt, and gloves complete the costume. On the tabard and shield are Queen Guinevere's coat of arms. Since the main foes of the Knights of Pendragon are the Bane, the servents of a demon known as the Red Lord, it is possible that the Green Knight either is associated with or is one of The Powers That Be.
  19. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU One team mate of the three Slayers is Willow Caplan, a redheaded Jewish computer hacker and eighth-generation Guardian Witch. Her mother, Susan, a seventh -generation Guardian Witch, teaches chemistry at the school. Both help out with research and magic. Like the rest, Willow has secrets. King Arthur existed. Thanks to a magical being known as the Green Knight, various individuals were given what is called the Pendragon Power to fight evil. One of these was Arthur's sister, Morgaine, who succeeded Vivianne as High Priestess of Avalon and Lady of the Lake. Willow is Morgiaine's reincarnate and the current wielder of her Pendragon Power. More to come.
  20. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal Good points. Taking a page from another posting on this thread, the Vorlons and Shadows created the Immortals for their own purposes. They decided that thje prize would be mortality, but they didn't tell the Immortals that. As far as the Hunters go, they could easily have been reformed, or just driven underground. One other thought: Tying this to my Buffy thread and superhero campaign universe, the Game is all a sham. The Powers That Be created the Immortals as their champions and the demonic senior partners of Wolfram and Hart created the game to rob humanity of its champions and either created or recreated the Hunters.
  21. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU I forgot to mension that Midori's hair falls to the center of her back. Ronna Taylor is the second of the campaign city's three Slayers. She's an African-American girl whose braided, black hair, touches her jaw line. Her mother, Ann, is the school nurse and her father, John, is the school librarian and the team's Watcher. Secrets abound in the Taylor family. Ann is a Jedi Knight who fled the Empire 20-years ago in the Starchild, a Ghtrok Industries Class 720 Light Freighter. Inside it are her Incom T-65B X-Wing Space Superiority fighter and R2-Z4, or Zephyr, her astromech droid. Keeping with Jedi tradition, Ann trained Ronna. Both Ann and Ronna have lightsabers. Ann's has a green blade while Ronna's has a red blade. The third Slayer is Elena Valdez, a Hispanic girl whose black hair caresses her shoulders. Since her father, Michael, and mother, Gloria, a United States Senator, didn't want her in the political spotlight, Gloria's parents are raising her. As a side note, Henry Hayes, the President of the United States, has proof that now Vice President Kinsey has been involved in criminal activity and plans to turn it over to the Attorney General and House Judiciary Committee. If Kinsey is forced from office, President Hayes plans to name Gloria Valdez Vice President.
  22. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU
  23. Re: Immortal Packiage Deal As you know, I had the secret of Immortals exposed to the world and I finally figured out how to do it. The renagade Watchers group known as the Hunters send computer disks with information to the police and television stations, exposing the Immortals and claiming that they're a threat to the world. One last thing, the prise is simple. You become mortal and can have children.
  24. Re: Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the CU This idea came to me yesterday. The campaign city has three Slayers. All are 17-year old high school seniors (and cheerleaders). Unknown to everyonebut those who guard it, there's a Hellmouth under the stage of the high school's auditorium. Midiri Yamashiro is one of the three Slayers. A Japanese-American woman from a family that was the result of the merger of a ninja clan into a samurai family in the early 1900s, she was a skilled ninja before becoming a Slayer. She is the current bearer of the clan's honor swords. Her katana, Amaterasu's Mirror, rests across her back while her short sword, Amaterasu's Tears, sits on her left hip. Both swords are invisible and intangable until called for. Also, according to clan legend, the swords are blessed. What Midori doesn't know is this: Amaterasu's Mirror, like Buffy's scythe, is, in D&D terms, a +5 Holy Avenger. Midori's mother, Fujiko, owns a dojo in the campaign city and trains the Slayers and their team mates in combat. Fujiko's sister, Kimiko, owns a gymnastics school that's next to Fujiko's dojo and lets her sister's students work out there. Midori's father, Hikaru, works for the county crime lab. More Slayers and team mates to follow.
  25. Re: The Avengers in the CU I know it has worked for the Avengers, but I'm not too keen on it. I can see it now. From their headquarters in Millennium City, the Avengers, Iron Man, Warder, and their associates, protect the world from evil. What do you say?"
