What an odd way to say "saved lives by casually tossing into the trash while no one was looking." Prior to my wife discovering this preparation, I agreed with you. Trim 'em and cut them in half. Lightly oil a baking sheet. Put the halved sprouts on that. Sprinkle with Old Bay. Roast. After some time (10 minutes, I think; they get browned) stir them up and apply more Old Bay; roast another 5-10 minutes, til browned again. Serve. Six at dinner, 1 to 2 quarts of roasted brussels sprouts; no leftovers.
Old Man
Excellent recipe, the only improvement I can think of is to replace the Brussels sprouts with red potatoes. Duke Bushido

However, it really seems like a leftover Halloween trick- right up there with candy-coated onions....
Cancer
Can't blame you for thinking that. It still may not be your cup of tea, as it were, but roasting with a seasoning puts them light-years ahead of the limp bitter turds that boiled brussels sprouts were my entire childhood. We've done that too. For Thanksgiving, potatoes already have a place of pride on the table, and this does put something green and cruciferous on the bill of fare that isn't just something even the dog won't eat.
