That's it. For 8+ hours a day. And I've been doing this for a year, as of this Monday. wow, but i mostly sit behind a desk as well, but all i have to do is stay awake. and occasionally walk around the building to get the vagrants off the property. and open the parking garage on weekday mornings. and occasionally walk through the building (18 floors and 3 levels of garage) looking for doors left open,janitors doing things they shouldn't be,floods (leaking/burst pipes),etc. did i mention that i have to stay awake (no computer at desk) ? and that there are 3 REALLY bright lights aimed DIRECTLY at where the chair goes ?? so either i get a headache from the lights, squint/close my eyes to reduce the glare (makes staying awake hard when the eyes are closed) or i wear a ballcap in the lobby. the ballcap wouldn't be so bad, but the uniform for this site is the cheap suit not the i-look-like-a-cop uniform. on the plus side i only have approximately two hours of actual work during my eight hour shift. so i do a LOT of reading. and i just got a personal DVD player. and all five seasons of Babylon 5 from ebay.
