Cancer Posted August 17, 2018 Report Share Posted August 17, 2018 Well, the first nine lines I think are required by the way the Arabic presentation of numbers is constructed. 9 is "special" because it is 1 less than the base, 10. I suspect that in any such system with an integer base N, an analogous contruction on M = N - 1 will always be true. There isn't a reason for the arbitrary power -32 in the next line. I think it was picked post facto to generate the value in that last line. That's a rigged trick, not a mystery. In short, I don't think there's any "number magic" there.
