Hey Skaramine' date=' that pistol sounds like the Colt "Survivor" which was previously made by someone else. It would certainly be a "handy" gun for a post-apocalypse world.[/quote']

Good for post-apocalypse...

But the Skorpion just looks BEAUTIFUL. The Medusa, it was an interesting idea but it looked like I'd built it.

Gary Reeder - the man makes BEAUTIFUL work.

I e-mailed Gary... and hoo-boy... HE KNEW ABOUT BOLAN! :D

Douglas,

Good to hear from you. Another one for you to take a look at would be

our BMF in 500 Maximum. This would be an excellent sidearm for your bad guy

as it's the most powerful handgun cartridge allowed by law. Over 4 times the

power of Bolans 44 mag.

Anytime you want one of our Skorps to look at and play with or one of the

BMFs just let me know. I've worked with several of the writers in the past

and if I can help you I would be happy to do so.

Gary Reeder

He's so dreamy!

Re: Musings on Random Musings

How do they make ranch dressing? All I can figure out is it has dill in it and white dairy stuff...

From Recipe Czar

  • 15 saltines
  • 2 cups dry parsley flakes, minced
  • 1/2 cup instant minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons dry dill weed
  • 1/4 cup onion salt
  • 1/4 cup garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup onion powder
  • 1/4 cup garlic powder

  1. Place crackers through blender on high speed until powdered.
  2. Add parsley, minced onion and dill weed.
  3. Blend again until powdered.
  4. Dump into a bowl.
  5. Stir in onion powder and salt, and garlic powder and salt. Put into container with tight fitting lid.
  6. Store dry mix at room temperature for up to 1 year.
  7. To mix: combine 1 Tbsp. dry mix, 1 cup of mayonnaise and 1 cup of buttermilk.

I'm sure WM will have a tastier version up later.

And a non-dill version:

Creamy Ranch Dressing

(makes 1 cup)

Ingredients

3/4 cup plain low fat yogurt

1/4 cup low-fat mayonnaise

1 tablespoon cider vinegar

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

1 green onion, minced

Directions

In a small bowl, add all ingredients; mix with a whisk until blended. Cover and refrigerate.

Re: Musings on Random Musings

What does it take these days to get a real vacation? Going on ten years, and I haven't managed more than a long weekend now and then... :nonp:

Well... we DID manage to get to New York last year for Christmas for a week, which was really nice. Christmas in Manhattan with my honey was probably the nicest gift my family'd given me in some time.

But a real vacation, no family, where we wanna go? Ummm... hasn't happened... in fact, if memory serves, I have not been on a "real" vacation in thirteen years.

I like The Donnas

Me too.

I'm also of the opinion that every photo shoot done today with Brittney should have her replaced by Torrie Castigliano (Donna C.).

I'm not much for blondes... but DAYUM!

Sorry to hear it. In some part you have to just pick a time period and do it, though I say that ignorant of the other job factors defeating even that, which I realize there probably are.

Time isn't really the issue so much as money; can't even easily afford to take the time (and lost pay) off, let alone the expense of going anywhere. Especially after my dratted car "absorbed" about $800-900 that I couldn't exactly spare, but didn't have any choice. :nonp:

And Michelle's comment notwithstanding, "family" vacations don't quite cut it anymore when the rest of the family in question seems to enjoy sniping at each other more often than not. More like an ordeal. :P

Guess I'll just have to deal with it, for the time being. :)

Re: Musings on Random Musings

If Old Navy never aired another TV commercial, would anyone be disappointed?

Doc

I wouldn't, and might even voluteer to eviscerate the people that do their advertising.

Considering thet neither I nor anyone I know has ever even walked into one of their stores, because of their ads, I figure they're getting what they deserve from us, anyway... NOTHING.

Praise God.

Could the world survive a Bec Jr. AND an Amused while the original Bec lived?
