At last, I seized a copy of 5th edition revised at an RPG fair...(So Far I had Champions Fourth Edition) and I am amazed at the huge amount of informations in that book...

Do you have any suggestion on how I can quicly learn the mechanics and become able in devising my own PCs, NPCs and powers and the like?

You might want to look at getting a copy of Sidekick, it's a trimmed down more newcomer friendly set of the main rules for the system. Much easier to digest, and you can always learn all the optional rules from 5ER afterwards.

In the Hero links section under Champions' date=' is a site that spells out the changes from 4th to basic 5th. That should speed things up some.[/quote']

Actually, it's under "Misc. Hero System Links." :tsk:;) While I'm here I might as well just link right to it: http://theemerged.blogspot.com/HERO425.htm

Welcome to the wonderful world of 5ER...make your self at home.

As a long time Champions player and GM, I left the world of HERO for quite a few years after 4th Ed. It's almost like I never left. The game system has pretty much had the final "kinks" worked out of it, and it's a streamlined piece of work.

I haven't really noticed all that many changes. A few things about skill levels, "naked" disadvantages, and other sorted mechanics. Take the time to really pour over the immense tome.

It's well worth it.
