Loren Wiseman of GDW fame has done a book on the 600 ton subsidized liner, a common small passenger ship in the Traveller universe, its always been a favorite of mine, along with the fact that I was one of the contributors on the design aspects of the book

hopefully this isnt a problem, I didnt get paid for this beyond a comp copy

I think it will prove useful for SF hero stuff in general

Cool. thank's for the info.

Got you own 600 ton liner now, eh? ... ARGH! THERE'S PIRATING TO BE DONE! :eg:

Also, isn't 600 tons about the size of the ship Jack Denton and crew used to find Skull island?

Now there's an idea for a one-shot adventure. Set course for the planet of the giant space apes! :D

Re: 600 Ton subsidized liner book

Loren didnt use the other liner variant we used in an IRC traveller campaign. it was rebuilt as a jump capable stage/recording studio/concert hall, the campaign was based on an Amber Zone adventure called Road Show, where the characters were roadies for an amp rock band on tour, except for this campaign we were the band members

hmmm... maybe I should write up our variation on the theme for a Star Hero adventure

the band was called Tir an Nog or just "Tir" for short. and was billed as a neo-celtic heavy metal band

we usually opened the show with Wipeout on the bagpipes, and ended with Stairway to Heaven, complete with an exploding haggis on stage

the ship had its own hydrophonics lab... gotta grow your own party favors!

the planetary customs folks just loved us!

"We just have 200 kilos of Hiver Hash for personal consumption dude!"

should I write this up or is it a wee bit over the top?

Re: 600 Ton subsidized liner book

I went digging on the X-Tek site and found the corporate press releases that were issued on the campaign

http://www.geocities.com/cmdrx/xtek/index.html

Harrys Angels along with being an female rock band were also ex imperial special forces troops who became corporate spokesmercs

Harry himself was a retired Marine Cavalry Biker Scout/Commando
