buzz
Re: What's the best hero suppliment! Hmm... Hudson City has been the book I had the most fun reading. I was just totally fascinated by it. USPD has probably been of the most use to me, though. If software counts, however, Hero Designer gets my nod. It's a vital tool that should be in every HERO gamer's arsenal. On top of that, it's probably the best piece of chargen software in existence. Would that d20 had anything even remotely as awesome. Sidenote: I'm really surprised to see love for DC:TAS and TE.
pinecone
Re: What's the best hero suppliment! STRIKEFORCE ... or UMA if we're talking about HERO 5th. I'd have said the same...But it's suposed to be in print!
ghost-angel
Re: What's the best hero suppliment! I'd have said the same...But it's suposed to be in print! Neither Strikeforce nor UMA are in print.
Cardinal
Re: What's the best hero suppliment! While I recognize that it is no longer in print, I would like to add an (illegal) vote to To Serve and Protect. I loved the protectors, the setting and the adventure. (I never had Strikeforce, so I cannot compare it to that one).

Repped As for my votes, I will have to go with Hero Designer at the Top and following a close second and third Ultimate Skill and UMA. Dust Raven
Re: What's the best hero suppliment! I can't decide between The Ultimate Mentalist or PRIMUS. Then again, neither of those books have been published in 5th edition yet.

(First post on these boards in case it's not obvious enough) The Combat Handbook includes (I think) 15 or 20 pages from UMA, including several martial maneuvers not included in 5ER, and more detail for those that are. Basically, it covers how to resolve martial arts combat. What it doesn't include is write-ups for over 150 real-world & fictional martial arts styles, martial arts weapons, character creation guidance, and other "genre" elements. Can you run martial arts without UMA? Sure. But if you like martial artist characters, UMA is well worth the investment. And: welcome aborad! ghost-angel
Re: What's the best hero suppliment! The Combat Handbook also, incidentally, is the only place where the Flying Dodge maneuver has a description and is not just an entry in a Martial Maneuver Table (UMA p9). Making that the only piece of new information in the HCB. (It does contain, from UMA, all Martial Maneuvers introduced there in, but does not include the rules for building custom maneuvers)
