OIF points come due: Defender vs Neutron

So let's say you are a certain power-armored leader of a Millennium City superhero team. Your armor gives you 15 rED. Now let's say you are fighting a certain CU master of magnetism before he was neutered by the Millennium City penal system. IIRC, Neutron had a 7d6 RKA that affected metal only. Ironclad, who takes 2X stun from magnetic attacks and is made of metal pees a little and hides inside Rosie's diner leaving only Defender to take him down.

Neutron fires all 7d6 at Defender and hits. As a GM, please describe how you would reconcile the damage even over multiple hits.

I have never dealt much with breaking foci.

For one thing, Defender's armor takes damage but he doesn't. Does that affect things like knockback?

IIRC, each hit that does more than 15 body will destroy one of defenders powers, with each of his multipower slots counting as a seperate power. The armor should be the last to go, when he is out of powers his power armour falls to bits.

If the power does not have the no knockback limitation, it will do knockback normally.

I agree with Shoutybloke's assessment, adding that knockback from an RKA is less than for nomal attacks and probably wouldn't result in much, if any, damage to Defender, other than pushing him around the battlefield a bit.

And repped for your description of Ironclad's actions.

I thought multipowers counted as one Power or is that just for Adjustment powers?

yup' date=' you're right. Defender is $*#&ed. Also, any attack that does 30 body or more will destroy the suit outright.[/quote']

It might be more fun and fair to take out the sytems one at a time, or to allow some systems to function longer on the way to failing. Not a strict rules interpretation, but it certainly makes dramatic sense and is in keeping with the genre.
